Donald Allan Balder

Great Doctor who truly cares about his patients. I have been suffering from extreme fatigue for years. He has helped my quality of life dramatically. Also has a wonderful staff. I always look fwd to going to appointments.

Dr Balder is an amazing physician and person. He truly cares about his patient's understanding exactly what the procedure entails and expected outcome. Your well being is his main concern and HE is your best physician choice to achieve a healthier and more youthful YOU!

I have been a patient of Dr. Balder for the last 10 months and cannot say enough good things about him and his practice. My office visits have consisted of hormone replacement therapy, threads, and Opus Plasma for acne scarring. I left each visit pleased with the positive effects of the treatment provided. He has taken the time to listen to my concerns and formulated the best plan for me. His office staff is extremely pleasant and knowledgeable as well. If you are looking for a Doctor that has patience, understanding and provides what you are actually looking for, I HIGHLY recommend Dr Balder.

He was amazing in the treatment of my family! From Hormone Health to PDO Thread lift to Neurotoxin injection and fillers. We are so happy and will not trust anyone else!!

Staff was great. He has no bedside manner. After surgery he could care less.

I had wonderful results with the threading, and the staff was wonderful. Would recommend 100%. Can't wait to go back.

He did my surgery over two years ago. Any problems I had he fixed. I only had one issue after surgery and he immediately addressed it and I have been fine. I went from a size 22 to a size10. Have not gain any of it back and don't intend to. Followed his instructions to a T. He tells you in the beginning he is no nonsense and I appreciated that about him. I found Dr. Balder online after trying to lose weight without much luck and desperate and feeling hopeless. Since seeing him in April, without surgery i have lost 45 pounds and feel better than I have in years. He is blunt and to the point but hes a darn amazing doc and he does listen to you and in the end, if you listen to him and take his advice he does you wonders. i am thankful. His staff is caring and amazing as well, I am blessed to have found him. I found myself on my husband and my anniversary wearing a size small dress for our dinner celebration! He was willing to help with weight loss utilizing several avenues of treatment. He’s also accommodating to long distances. I live in Hattiesburg and am interested in the gastric balloon. He’s going to order studies to be done in Hattiesburg to reduce my amount of travel. Some treatments (like testosterone injections) he mentioned weren’t as convincing as a possible treatment for my personal weight loss and more marketing to get money (thus, only 4 stars). Very pleased with Dr Balder and his staff. They listened intently and pleasant to speak to

After procrastinating making a consulting appointment for over a year due to fear of being judged I finally took the plunge and was well rewarded. The total experience from appointment to exit was friendly, professional, personal and supportive. The process was thoroughly explained to me and I was given a Dr. Balder original sketch of the gastric sleeve process that he drew while explaining what would be done and how and why it helps with weight loss. Please do not put off this life affirming surgery. I know I have a lot of work ahead but feel confident I can reach my goals with the help of the supportive staff at MIWLS. Dr. Balder is an amazing doctor. He genuinely cares about your health. He isn’t there to just do procedures but is there as a life coach to help you change yourself for a healthier life.

He was nice enough prior to surgery. His staff is nice. After surgery, he was literally the rudest doctor that I have ever encountered in my entire life. Not too interested in helping me. Run! There are better options.

Horrible human being. Nearly killed my wife. She was moved to ICU because I demanded it. It was due to the him over medicating her, but the only reason he called to tell me that ICU wasn't included in what I already paid him, not to check on her. Run away. I have nothing good to say about this horrible person.

Horrible Doctor....He did my Sleeve surgery and left me to die in Slidell. I ended up with a 10cm ulcer that perforated in my stomach and Ocean Springs Hospital called him and the nurse wrote in my charts that he said to send me back to Slidell and not to call him anymore because he was sleeping. When I was transferred to Slidell he didn't know how to fix what he messed up. He left me to die there. My mother had me transferred to Ochsner and it took 7months and me almost dying 4 times for me to recover from what he did. I hope he has his license taken away. I have nothing positive to say about this man. He recently did a surgery on my mothers intestines. Its been about 3 weeks now. She's having complications after complications. She cant eat barely can walk. She went to the emergency room today to find out that he messed her up according to the CT scans. They cant touch her for legal reasons. The nurses gave us a packet to report him to missippi board of health. They need to take his licence. I do not recomend this doctor to anyone. Especially if you value your life. Great bedside manner. Took the time to explain the procedure step by step along with a drawing explaining everything. Ladies up front were a pleasure as well. Made me feel right at home.

Great surgeon. Pleased with my abdomoplasty and hernia repair. Staff is kind and efficient. I am over the top pleased with Southern surgical hospital and the medical team. I felt special with the care I recieved there!

Multiple issues with surgery (inflamed sleeve that was unable to be scoped, lung damage, emotional distress). I had to go to a local Gastrointestinal physician and get his help to be released from Balder to get adequate follow up. Dr. Balder actually loudly scolded me for adding milk products (as listed in the paperwork given by his office) loudly enough a friend in the waiting room heard him. He has a temper!

I've known Dr. Balder for years and he's always been more than willing to help me with my diet and weight loss needs. Whenever I needed hormone therapy, he was able to help me in that area too. I'd highly recommend him and his AWESOME staff to anyone wanting to better their quality of life!

Shows no compassion if you experience issues after surgery. He literally yelled at me over the phone when I called his office on a Fri afternoon and it forwarded the call to him at home.
