Dr. Donald F Switzer

I had been diagnosed with Long QT and SADS while living abroad. The problem got worse and worse as time passed and I began having heart attacks/ going into heart failure. I had been living in a country where I had health insurance but the necessary procedure could only have been done in one hospital in that country according to my doctor. So I headed back to the US as my situation had become dire. I had no insurance coverage in the US and I knew Dr. Switzer was very busy with patients but he managed to fit my procedure into his schedule. On the day of my procedure a massive snowstorm had hit WNY/ Buffalo and I barely made it to the hospital even though I was only a few streets away. The weather was horrible and they were stopping unnecessary travel. I was feeling despondent as I didn’t think I would have the time to get another appointment. The nurses today me Dr. Switzer would do his best to make it there. He drove 4 hours in blizzard conditions to make it to the hospital to do my procedure. My procedure was complicated and took 7 hours to complete. When it was finished he came in and told me he understood my situation and was going to waive his portion of the fees. I gave me another chance at life and I will always be thankful.

Dr Switzer spent a great amount of time with NO rush discussing my heart problem’s. He made sure my wife and Is I thoroughly understood all options. Within a couple days he was able to do my procedure. It was decided after procedure that I would need a further surgery. I feel very confidant in Dr Switzer’s capability and will be having him do this procedure. I highly recommend his dedication to his patients!

Dr Switzer saves lives. I am very grateful for having him in my life. I have had svt and afib since I was 9 years old. He has helped me and my family so many times. Me, my daughter, and my son all have svt. My son had svt and wpw Dr. Switzer fixed his problem completely and no more 300 beats per minute. He has done a great job, but he isn't a hand holder he is a get the job done and save lives doctor. He seems rude but it is only because he takes what he does seriously. I'm positive he is a life saver, he saved my son and he found out things other doctors looked over for years. He deserves more stars than google could give. I have had multiple dealing with Dr Switzler going back 25 years. He has always been caring and easy to speak with. I highly recommend!!

If I could give negative stars I would. Please take yourself or loved one to someone else. Dr Switzer was so rude that my son and I walked out in tears. 98% of the office visit was looking at his back as he stared into his computer. My 12 yr old son had a test that he still has nightmares from - though initially I was told the test was nothing to worry about -“easy”. After the test, I had a question with my son’s condition. The doctor said he should just “deal with it like 20,000 other people”. Period. End of conversation. Then he walked out of the room. If I could give negative stars I would. I thought Dr. Switzer was kind, patient and very informative. You don't go to a doctor because you wish to be coddled, you go because you need help. He spent a good amount of time with me, answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease with a diagnosis I was completely unsure of. I see bad reviews about him, but I had the complete opposite experience. He seems to be a very good doctor who goes off of facts that are presented to him. Dr. Switzer explained the procedure that I needed on my heart and did a excellent job to repair the problem.

A wonderful, kind, patient doctor. He put my very anxious daughter at ease about her procedure, took all the time we needed to get our questions answered, and came to talk to us twice after her procedure. Thank you Dr Switzer!

We saw doc way back before the ablation procedure was fda approved here in the usa. He accompanied my sister (the patient ) to London Ontario. It fixed her wpw and we never had another episode! He was kind and compassionate. I am actively seeking a new ept physician due to some different cardiac issues that have surfaced. More than 30 yrs later.....hope we can get in to see him
