Dr. Douglas Michael Adel

Very disappointed to appear for my confirmed and scheduled appointment to not only wait after checking in for almost an hour but upon asking about the appointment time was informed my appointment was instead canceled and inactivated me as a patient. Front office was clueless and I had to repeat my name more than 5 times includes spelling it… walked out to shrugging shoulders and will not return. Front office and scheduling in your lifeline in an office and that was poorly handled and I will not be back. Other than the hygienist doing a great job last cleaning I am not impressed with constant turn over in staff and unorganized front office.

The last major visit I had with this dentist was to get fillings. Towards the end of the procedure I was starting to feel the area again and told the Dr, I believe about 3 separate times, that I could feel what he was doing and it hurt. He just said okay and kept going. I was starting to feel it more and more and finally it was so bad I started crying and getting upset. The Dr. immediately stopped and said I was done, I thought this was weird because he hadn’t spent much if any time shaping the filling he had just put in. I thought when I closed my mouth that my bite wasn’t meeting up correctly but since my face was still numb it was hard to tell so I just got the heck out of there because I was done. Later when I could fully feel again I realized the filling was so misshaped that when I closed my mouth the teeth on the other side weren’t meeting. But I was just starting a new job and I really didn’t want to request more time to go back to the dentist since I wanted to make a good impression so I then lived with my teeth being like this for a week as I stubbornly refused to go back due to work and my experience. My mom told me it needed to be fixed immediately before I started getting TMJ issues which had already begun so I finally did go back to this dentist. Fixing the teeth consisted of a dental hygienist grinding on the filling with no numbing agent at all and I was terrified the whole time she was working on it. She mostly fixed the issue but I still feel like my bite has never been the same since this experience and I refuse to go back to this dentist for the poor handling of my situation. All of this could have been avoided if he had just listened to me during any of my attempts to tell him I could feel the filling area again. Dr. Adel gave me a beautiful smile. I’ve been seeing him for 30 plus years. He and his team are extremely professional and caring.

My whole family and I love Dr Adel and his staff! Before I found this office, I had negative experiences with dentists and was actually fearful of going, but that quickly changed after switching to Dr Adel! He is so incredibly gentle and truly cares about his patients. He even took care of my grand baby on a Sunday evening after he fell and hit his tooth on our coffee table. He reassured us that his tooth was ok. He even called the next day to check on him! Not only is he a great dentist but he’s also a perfectionist which I can really appreciate. Great family dentist, great staff, never any problems. Dr Adel is very friendly and remembers everyone. All the staff is friendly, prompt, and polite. Very clean environment, welcoming to small children, had no problems bringing our youngest for her first appointment years ago. I had my teeth cleaned and whitened this week and I couldn’t be happier! The staff is super professional, friendly and the best at what they do! My teeth never looked or felt so clean, they were very thorough yet gentle!! Dr. Adel is just amazing and you can tell he really cares about his patients! Thank you so much!!! Very unprofessional made a emergency appointment with them because I'm in alot of pain and they dont call me until the morning of my appointment to tell me they cant see me on that date

Love them they've taken care of ny family's dental needs

Went explicitly for extraction. Sent xrays before visit and was assured the tooth would be removed. After 3 botched X-rays and using my original I was told Doc couldn’t do the job! Still charged me $80 to tell me! Honesty on the telephone is appreciated.. I missed work. Wasted money and time and still have a tooth ache.

Our entire family went to Dr Adel for many years, until his receptionist behavior turned us away. My son asked if I could make him an appt because his wisdom teeth were bothering him. I explained to the receptionist he was in pain and it was urgent. The next day his son fell, split open his head and had to be rushed to emergency room for stitches. Later that evening when checking my messages the receptionist had left this message on my phone and was VERY snooty "your son did not make his appointment today, guess his pain wasn't that bad or urgent"! Another son needed dental care, when I contacted the office, got the same receptionist to make an appointment she told me he was outside the age limit for our insurance policy, she then proceeded to contact our insurance company. Both our dental insurance and Medical insurance were canceled on our son. He was on special medication that cost $400 a month. Dr. Adel and staff are very knowledgeable and polite would recommend everyone to visit. Top notch dentistry that goes above and beyond.

It's a shame I didn't go to him first. Crowns, by another dentist, were failing due to shoty work (margins-piss poor). Dr. Adel is one of the few dentists left, that has the expertise to stand out above the rest. Take it from my first hand experience, he's one of, if not the best, out there.

I have been a patient of Dr. Adel's for over 10 years . His staff is absolutely amazing! Although I no longer live in the Gainesville area, I drive over 2 hours for my dentist appointments to see him now . Many may think that's crazy but the quality of care I receive there is phenomenal. Definitely worth the drive!!!! Very often I get compliments on how beautiful my teeth and smile are constantly reminding me of the man( Dr.Adel) who helped made that possible. I am truly truly greartful. You would never guess I have a mouth full of fillings and crowns. He has always taken the very best care of me.Dr.Adel work is that spectacular! Great staff and do their best to make a pain free visit

Went here in a pinch to get a wisdom tooth pulled. I didn't have insurance at the time but they were reasonably priced. I now have insurance and still use him as my regular dentist. I've never had any issues at all. The staff is very friendly and I've always been happy with the quality of work received. (I've had a lot done)

Excellent! Our daughter had four teeth removed and was playing two hours later. What is even better is that she is going to have four more teeth removed and she has no fear of going back. Highly recommend for all services.
