My husband has anklosing Spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and DDS.. Husband had seen rheumatologist in Kentucky, Rhode Island, and Florida. Not one of them caught the AS. We moved here six years ago.. Dr. Brown took one xray and identified anklosing Spondylitis. Dr. Brown has replaced both of husband's hips and did an amazing job. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Brown. We only wish he was a rheumatologist too! Dr. Brown is knowledgeable, compassionate, and just a great orthopedic surgeon. Dr Douglas brown wrote a addendum when I requested for my records because I never get any answers except the secretary saying he said physical therapy, his addendum states as follows, I've only seen him 3 times and he stated in a additional addendum that I was seeking pain pills , for one he seem me from a foot accident where I ended up n trauma center and didn't ask fir no pain pills which is n his notes , 2 from a broke arm I didn't even c him till 2 months afyer yhe incident abs after I seen him I requested something for pain 2 months and 2 weeks later and that was a 3 day fight with Tracey to get that and then he penciled n on his notes when I ask fir my records it was my pharmacist fault, and 3 I had a car accident Dec 8th jus a accident with a tree and a deer, I dint not seek medical treatment nor asked for pain pills , in yhe meantime one month later I went to my famiky Dr and never even discussed wreck or needing pain pills , I've been seeing my family physician for years and in his notes I have never discussed any type pain, nor needed pain pills, a month later ,seen Dr Brown again he is yje only Dr that doesn't require a referral is why I went to him , 2 months after my accident and him not discussing my issues jus getting Tracey to call and tell me I needed physical therapy. On what kind of need to know what the x-ray says first , im his little addendum as u will c below he said I ask for pain meds, note this addendum was added after didn't get my results and getting my famiky Dr to get them I now have results, torn ligaments n my knee and a broke toe, so considering number one had ask for pain meds 2 months later ... andjus getting a xray with proven facts, had I asked he would have look stupid not giving something for pain , and 2 had I wanted pain meds could have discussed with my familyphysician the month before and got them, so there is 2 things that made his addendum a lie . And number 3 I have been through off a horse with a stick stuck through my leg that needed stitches, flipped over backwards by a cow, and fell out of a attic so that makes 6 bad accidents total , 3 i never seen a physician seeked treatment nor especially tried to.get pain pills, the foot accident ask c on pics I ended up n trauma center follow up.wiyh Dr Brown never asked for pain meds, the broke arm was 2 months later and I finally give n and went to him then had to fight the secretary to get something for pain on the one and only time ! His notes do not match his xrays , no my information on my chart app because he clearly states no medicine given versus the addendum he added and DID NOT SIGN that I was after pain meds, funny thing no other Dr has and other chief complaint of a pain I complained of nor prescribed me a pain med... something don't quiet add up Dr Brown . Also u penciled in on ur notes after the typed notes said i.had 7 metal foreign bodies n my foot , considering it was a metal post and wire wrapped around my foot he wrote he thought it may have been plastic, tried to change his notes and let me tell u why , one he left them there and my ankle is still the size of a golf ball and 2 he didn't give me a tetanus shot after asking for one. Dr. Douglas Brown is the by far the most caring and compassionate human being. As a physician he is knowledgeable, explains in detail, answers all questions and genuinely cares about his patients. My husband and I consider it a privilege to have Dr. Brown and his staff as our orthopedic specialist. Through the many years of being his patients, he and his staff are family. We love them and trust them completely. I am always put at ease when I know he will always take time with me or my husband and address the medical issue but address our concerns. Not pleased! He didnt take the time one on one,he was to much in a hurry to go see other patients. He would ask me a question, I would answer him and few minutes later,not remember what I told him. The waiting room always packed and forever getting called to the back. Mr.Johnny seems to care more about the patients and their wellbeing, than the doctor.

Dr. Brown has treated me for many years. He is a kind and caring doctor and takes the time to explain symptoms and treatment options. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Dr Brown gave me my life back! I had a total hip replacement and everything went great. His staff is so nice. I wish I would have found him 3 years ago. I had no complications and I’m pain free!! Thank you Dr Brown!!

Dr Brown is a compassionate, experienced surgeon. I would recommend him to anyone needing orthopedic care. My mother went to another doctor first who did not treat her broken vertebrae or diagnose her broken foot. Dr Brown examined her back and foot, read the X-rays and treated her injuries. He actually listened to her about her sources of pain!

I feel like Dr. Brown's experience and education are top-notch. He is experienced in Robotic Knee Surgery. He has s mild mannerism. Very soft spoken.
