I had a triple bypass, which Dr. Pham performed. I never saw him after surgery. He did not call or visit. Before the bypass I was feeling okay, but a little short of breath. I was told I had a blockage and needed surgery. After surgery I was told I had heart failure. It has been 2 years. I have been swimming and doing everything I can to get my strength back to where I was before surgery, but my heart is not performing as it should. I suppose I will never know what went wrong during surgery to cause this.

My father, the most beautiful person one could know, died too young in the hospital 5 days after Dr. Pham operated on him. Dr. Pham never visited my father nor spoke to my mother after surgery or the 5 days he was in hospital. He sent residents and fellows because he knew he had done wrong. Dr. Pham was clearly over confident when he told my father he would do great and offered him no risks to the procedures. Dr. Pham needs to understand his patients’ health histories before carelessly recommending and performing procedures. People’s lives are in his hands and his actions have serious consequences on his patients and their loved ones. I’m honestly shocked Northwestern would have a surgeon like this on their staff.

Dr. Pham removed my God given heart on May 31 2018 and replaced it with a then 30 year old heart. Dr Pham literally saved my life. As a lay person it is difficult if not impossible to opine about the skills of a surgeon. It is all outcome based. However I believe without his skills I would not be here today. Very pleased and proud to have had him as my transplant surgeon. Brad Waller

Dr. Pham's team refused to treat sternal bone infection due to a steronotomy from open heart surgery despite tests and clinical evidence of a clear infection & worsening patient status. He doesn't even show up to evaluate the patient in person, & his team doesn't even know how to read basic tests for infection. Clearly you can find better than Dr. Pham. Don't believe his profile-he obviously doesn't care at all for the affected patient & their young family- they are not even worth his presence.

Pham preformed a 4 way bypass on me in 2014. 3 weeks later the ENTIRE bypass failed resulting in a Heart attack . Seems that when he did the Bypass my Veins were " Miss Matched" resulting in a total Failure of the operation He performed. My life hasn't been the same since and he just walks away without a care. Please get another opinion from other Doctors so this doesn't happen to you.

This man is a Godsend. My mother would not be alive without his unmatched skill and immense knowledge. Dr. Pham performed LVAD and heart transplant surgery on her. There is no one better in our eyes. I can say with absolute certainty that we have unwavering confidence in him. We will be eternally grateful.

Dr. Pham is nothing short of brilliant. He performed a lifesaving LVAD surgery on my aunt and then later a successful heart transplant. In addition to being a wildly skilled surgeon, he was kind and understanding of our family's need for answers during a very scary time. We had every confidence in his abilities. Simply put... He's wonderful.

Dr Pham is best heart surgeon in Boston. He saved my life by implanting heart pump when I had no hope to survive.
