I went to Dr. A to try out a Queens chiropractor after my own in Manhattan cut hours with the virus. I was happy with a stretch tip and an adjustment, but overall was not happy. The way he treated me was belittling, dominating and borderline abusive.I am an athlete and dancer but I do not need to go often to a chiropractor. Dr. A was unprofessional in more than one way. See the following and consider this happened in a crowded office, on a chiropractor bed, with others on other beds or nearby walking around. During a first visit, the chiropractor should have consulted with me in an office with a closed door and should have first asked: 1. Why I am there? 2. If I have pain and where? 3. What is my past chiropractic history and for how long? Instead, he assumed I needed to go to him. He assumed I had pain. He assumed I was in a subservient position needing him and would take disrespect. He assumed I had increased activity as virus limitations stopped when I tried to explain I kept up with exercises, albeit not at the [closed] gyms. And the second sentence in his mouth was my age. This was AS I WAS ABOUT TO LIE DOWN. My intuition said to get up and leave. And this was after a substantial wait in the front room. You never guess a woman's age. Although I am young and in my 40s, and think women are their most beautiful and sexy in their 40s, I look 10-20 years younger. That is a fact, not good or bad. In any case, whether I am 20 or 100, there is no reason to mention/blurt out my age. The only reason to ask or mention it is if he wanted to know how long I had chiropractic care/with whom/what type of care. He continued to assert that a certain condition cannot be changed after one is an adult, 18 or 40s I am not sure, when MY EXPERIENCE is that I had regular chiropractic care after 25 AND IT WAS CHANGED. In other words, he talked down to me and told me he knew my body more and medical history more than I do. Doing squats and going to the gym regularly (not to mention taking about a million NYC subway steps, running Marathons, performing dancing and more), I had knee arthritis since I was 27 years old. I know dancers with surgeries and injuries in their teens/early 20s because of wear and tear. In other words, use matters more than age in wear and tear, and of course this varies by the person. I am a licensed personal trainer with a science education. (I am the author of a fitness blog started in 2005 and two versions of a fitness book, but these are besides the point.) I and others know that exercise and other work can actually have one get healthier with age or their cells rejuvenate until about 65 years old and even older. Dr. A should be up and up on this, including studies, or at least know it intuitively and with observations of some patients. When I called to confront him on why he mentioned my age and out loud, and any medical history near others (I even tried to close a curtain and he put it back where it was!), he BSed that it was to show I had wear and tear. Again, I was trying out a new chiropractor, have thanks to God the health and energy of a child, and really felt better these months with my own workouts. He glossed over what I said and there was no reason to mention age and try to psychologically screw me to make it seem I have a problem with that. I will be proud at 100, but 20 or 100 or old looking younger or younger looking older, there is no reason to blurt anything out or voice your opinio Age is a number. Ask the patient, in private what they feel and what their experience is. Lastly, he probably projected what he felt about his own shape and looks, which I said and he did not like it on the telephone. Final: Talk about medical history in private, do not blurt or guess a woman's age; do not think age is anything but a number -- biological age matters; do not assume injuries or injuries tied to age or more/less activity without first asking the patient; do not have an attitude and dominate. Dr. Ike is an amazing Chiropractor. Came in with issues with my neck and he was able to identify the area that was causing the pain and most importantly alleviate the pain in only a few visits. Top notch and highly recommended.

Being a Chiropractor myself, I can choose anyone I wish to work with as a professional courtesy. I have known Dr. Ike for over 25 years and have learned a lot from him. He is one of the most dedicated, generous, knowledgeable, and hard working physicians I have ever met, bar none! Most of his patients have no idea how accomplished Dr. Ike actually is as a physician. He completed clinical studies at Palmer Chiropractic College in record time due to the amount of patients who signed up to be taken care of by him. He was the head researcher and writer for Mally extremity adjusting technique manuals, ones which are utilized by at least half of the Chiropractic profession! Being a physician, specifically a Chiropractor, is much more difficult that meets the eye of a lay person. The general public's ignorance to what we do is extremely taxing for us to overcome and educate. Medical brainwashing for over 75 years is the culprit.

Stay away from this chiropractor. Seeing this guy ike is a total waste of time.

Dr. Ike met me for an emergency Sunday am appointment and I could not be happier with his facility, his equipment and his professional services. He quickly was able to diagnose why I was experiencing tremendous feet and leg pain and provided immediate comfort with his professional care. I highly recommend his services.

Front office and billing are some act. They make you pay what "they think" is your co-pay and when the insurance info comes thru they give you the run around for your OWN refund. I've been trying to get my money back since beginning of 2017, about 4 months now.

I will never go anywhere else Dr Ike is the greatest

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Ike for years as needed. He always performs miracles and gets us right back to our routine. He is always kind, professional and courteous.

My elderly mom made an appointment to see Dr. Avgerinos and when she showed up they front desk told her that he had prior engagements. If he was a real doctor that level of professionalism cannot happen.
