Dr. O'Connell often seemed distracted and like she wanted to elicit a certain response during therapy sessions. Our sessions ended when she told me not to come back because I wasn't making enough progress - and also, strangely enough, because I "already know" what my problem is... ?? She reminded me how she has a busy schedule with many patients who want and need her help. It just wasn't working for her. I was beyond devastated and felt rejected by my therapist (yikes! that's really bad, huh?!). If you have BPD, please seek help elsewhere. Dr. O'Connell has preconceived ideas about BPD and those who have it or show traits. She may take your payment, get frustrated that you don't respond quickly enough, and leave you with nothing more than new insecurities.
