Dr. Gary Ian Altschuler

Have been going to this office for many years. The office is efficient and all the staff is courteous . Dr. A has a calm nature and always answers any questions I have. Love my hygenist Krista. No one likes going to a dentist , including me, but I find I am comfortable there which is nice.

In a hurry he had no time to wait for Novocain to fully kick in. I have never had a dentist inject then in less than 5 min start working. When he caused fist clenching pain he would say, “everything is going well here, okay?” He worked on my mouth like it was a car engine no regard for my exp. Hygienist sat there lifeless not properly suctioning water which caused gagging can’t breathe moments. His results will most likely be good but he has no empathy for patient discomfort. The only saving Grace is that he does work quickly and I only needed one tooth area revised. God help the person who comes here with multiple issues!

I have been worked on by many oral health care professionals over my years and this Dr’s careless, indiscriminate administration of pain meds is by far the worst I have ever experienced. He may be very knowledgeable and well respected by his peers, but he seems to enjoy inflicting pain just a little too much. I see no other explanation for his inability to preform numbing properly. Go back to basics sir, you are in need of retraining.

Have had my phone number for close to a decade and never received phone calls from doctors offices. After Altschulers office went and put my phone number up on Google by mistake instead of their office number I receive phone calls from all over the country on a dialy basis and this week it has even progressed into me receiving text messages! This has been going on for more than 2 years now and I'm metlntaly drained and down with the whole situation. I use to be the nice guy and tell them the area code was wrong but after contacting the office close to a dozen times now I have given up and just ignore the phone calls. It amazes me this office doesn't seem to care they miss so many phone calls from other offices and clients. Hopefully this 1 star review will cause them to fix this problem but seeing as all my phone calls have done nothing I don't see them caring at all about their online rating. Dr. Gary Altshuler and staff provide a first class experience! As a retired dentist myself I definitely can recognize quality treatment and I am grateful for the great overall service they provided me! I feel safe in their hands and highly recommend them!

Amazing first visit for extraction and implant preparation, little to no pain during and after the procedure and short time in the chair, they took plenty of time to ensure my understanding of the entire process and answer plenty of questions. I have been a patient with Dr. Altschuler for many years so obviously I have been very satisfied with him as a dentist and his office staff for their professionalism. My most recent visit--in the midst of the Covid pandemic--illustrates that he deeply cares for the well being and health of his patients: he and his staff carefully follow the CDC protocols for safety from taking temperature as soon as I entered the office, properly wearing masks (over nose and mouth), and using new, state-of-the-art equipment ensuring that any spread of Covid virus is at an absolute minimum. I feel very confident that Dr. Altschuler maintains these high standards throughout his practice.

Fine. All went well. No discomfort

Dr Altschuler DDS saw me today as an emergency as my regular Dentist was away. I had the Glue on a crown fail on an Implant. Dr Altschuler Removed some of the parts that attach to the crown to give to my regular Dentist and placed a cap on the implant to protect my gum until the crown could be replaced. I would like to thank Dr Altschuler and his receptionist for their prompt help.

The visit was very pleasant. All employees were professional and nice and the Doctor was great.

By far my favorite dentist. From the receptionist (Jessie) to the hygienist and Altschuler himself, I no longer fear going to the periodontist. I'd recommend them to everyone and am so glad I found them.

I had a cleaning with Lisa today, she was the most gentle hygienist I have ever had. Totally pain free, my kind of cleaning.

I would never recommend this dentist to anyone. He is arrogant, abhorrent, and appalling. His approach is belittling and denigrating to patients. Not just to me but to others too.

I have been a patient of Dr. Altschuler's for many years and I am always impressed with every element of his practice. Dr. Altschuler provides excellent, thoughtful care and is abreast of up-to-the-minute treatment and diagnostic/equipment options. My experiences with the techs, admin staff, and practice manager are always friendly, professional, competent... on-point. The office is clean and welcoming. This is not a paid endorsement;) I really am a long-time patient.

The steps taken for covid safety was very much appreciated as I am taking all possible precautions myself. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Altschuler and staff even though this was my first visit. I saw the technical side of him to record findings with his staff and the personal side of him to offer some advice on what he would do if he were my general dental practitioner on what my options may be which I really appreciated. Dr. Altschuler and his staff were very kind and made me feel welcome and comfortable. He was up front and honest about his assessment of my teeth and gave me options for a treatment plan. My oral surgery went really well and he was gentle and made sure I was not in pain. His staff was sweet and took their time making sure I understood everything for my post-surgery care. Overall, I had a great visit and he never made me feel bad about my dental health.

Horrible doesn’t begin to describe this awful dentist. He needs to go back to school and learn how to provide compassionate patient care. Don’t do to him unless you enjoy being treated like garbage.

My visit was terrible. He’s a very nasty arrogant man, which other reviews have said. Compassionless and belittling, that’s how he treats his patients. His license to practice should be revoked.

He is an excellent practitioner , but also very rude and arrogant. His behavior was belittling and made me feel terrible. In this case I recommend finding another excellent clinician and not be subjected to his problems.

I went in to have an extraction and prepare for an implant. Having had a less than wonderfull experience last time at another dentist, I was, shall we say,apprehensive. Dr Altschuler told me there would be nothing to it,and there was nothing to it. He can pull my teeth anytime it becomes necessary.

Believe it or not, I never enjoyed sitting in a dentist chair until my first visit to see Dr. Altshucker. I asked for honesty with my questions. I received more than that. This man has the wisdom to see, listen and advise the patient to the best of his ability. He looked at me, 96 + and saw more than I ever expected. I respect his advice and am sorry I had not found his integrity way before this time.

I was taking them quickly. Everybody was well masked with shields. The dental hygienist Krista was gentle, efficient, and pleasant to talk to. Dr alchula met me after she was done checked out her work which is fine. We discussed my lower back tooth which may in the future need to be pulled. We chatted over the joys (?) Of raising teenagers, as we all have. Everything went smoothly. I made a new appointment for next year, in my alternating cleaning with them and Dr Pomerantz. Paid my bill with a credit card and exited. Everything went quickly and smoothly and safely.

Dr. Altschuler and Krista always make my visits totally stress-free. And I'm the guy who went from 1969 through 1993 with no dental visits because of fear(s) of being in that dreaded dentist chair. Yes, I'm an 'old' guy but much wiser now. Everything about Dr. Altschuler's office is top-notch, and that all starts with him. His clerical staff as well as his dental support team are all friendly, professional, and caring. They've allowed me to become the 'poster' boy ( man) for helping anyone who has fears/concerns about receiving dental care. My continuing high level of dental health contributes directly to me being able to enjoy an equally high level of overall health. I sought out Dr. Altschuler for a second opinion on the advice of a neighbor. His thorough explanation of my situation convinced me I did not need to undergo the painful and expensive procedure another practice was recommending. He also picked up on some other conditions that I was not seeking his advice on and he ecohoed the same advice. There is no need to undergo the procedure unless you want to do it for cosmetic purposes. Highly recommend based upon this ONE visit. I appreciate his honest and conservative approach.

I think when your doctor refers you to a particular doctor for continued care; the referring office should make sure your insurance is accepted or not! At the time patients check in the insurance coverage in or out of network should be check before proceeding to see the doctor and informed what the visit is gonna cost! Then the patient has a choice continue or cancel the appointment. The doctor and his staff was very pleasant but I did not like how my check out went! I went in with pain and came out with the same pain and out of $1450 to get a plan for my pain which will not begin until late July! I'm in pain now! And out of $1450! It was like she didn't run my insurance and wasn't going to but just told me today's visit is $1450, in which I was not expecting to have to pay such a huge copay/bill! When this was all said and done, I felt taken advantage of with no results! Still in pain! My urgency should be the doctors urgency! To have an appointment for late July and I'm in pain now doesn't make me feel like a valued patient! Doctors do make exceptions for patients... Signed, Very Disappointed! When one walks into a medical office, one can tell from the staff, how the physician feels about his work. From the very first staff contact, to the checknout staff, everyone is calm and smiling. Infection control practices are sound and safe, a very important point during this pandemic. I am a RN and can verify. Dr Altschuler explained everything he was going to do, and also kept me informed during my procedure. He is professional, approachable and humorous. I was numbed adequately and was quite comfortable for the duration. I would recommend him to anyone seeking periodontal work.

I had gum surgery (grafts) in 3 places due to serious gum erosion. Dr. Altschuler and staff were very explanatory and efficient. After serious numbing, I experienced some uncomfortableness (through no fault of the doc) but no real pain. Sutures were in place and I was out earlier than expected. the staff explained post procedures I need to adhere to and I was out the door. Bleeding has been minimal and keeping the ice on to reduce swelling.
