Dr. Gary Helfin

We've had Dr Helfin for several years. I'd give him 5 stars. Love him. The receptionist that must take care of billing was extremely rude when asked about the billing as it was higher then usual. She got super defensive and said she would not take my husband back as a patient and hung up! I give her zero stars . Had to change Drs.

Been calling for 2 months to get appt. Not accepting new patients. Insurance company recommended him and close friends that have him.

Always listens to you. Allows as much time as you need. Very personable.

Excellent primary care doctor.

Dr Helfin is always accessible-returns calls quickly. Responded to a severe asthma attack -(Over the phone) On a Friday at 5 PM=Had meds phoned into Publix immediately.

Tried to get some information on insurance, his secretary did not give her name. Sounded like an old bitter hag. Said they didn't take my insurance, and I inquired what other insurance and she declined to tell me and hurried off the phone . I guess this is a blessing in disguise!

Dr. Gary is a wonderful and kind doctor to anyone who needs a general practitioner

Very good provider. Have been a patient for several years and he always took time to listen. Lisa, his PA is excellent! Highly recommend this doc.

Very through -very professional and personable. Also highly recommend Lisa ,his PA Have seen several primary care physicians n Ocala- he is far better !

I’ve never had a problem with Dr Heflin or any of his staff. Doc always took the time to listen and document my concerns. He is a general practitioner, not a specialist, I have complete confidence in him.

Just plain bad - no confidence in his ability or that of his staff. No calls are ever returned in a timely manner.

I have complete confidence in Dr. Helfin. He is smart and thorough. I feel like we are really communication and he is willing to take all the time that he needs to.

down to earth doctor that shares 1 on 1 time with you.he refers you to necessary specialist if needed. One of my best thoughts is how when you are sick, and know your body, he will call in a prescription, for you.

He refused to give my mother a simple urine test for carcinoid syndrome, which I suspected she had by googling her symptoms. This was 2 years ago, when she had a chance to be treated. She is now in hospice, dying of carcinoid cancer.

Very good he will discuss all your options with you Office always call us back if you leave a message very friendly office personnel have been going to him for six years

We had been patients of Dr. Heflin a while back. He moved to a different county and at the time we could not make that drive after many other Dr's and not having ones that you could actually see a Dr we made the choice to go back to Dr. Heflin. He always sees his patients at the appointments. He also calls us back when we have problems after hours. Best Dr around

Did not take my condition seriously and had a mocking tone in his voice. He made me feel like a fool.

My mom sees him. I wish I had a dr like him. He is educating an also listens to patients concerns. He is one of the best family practitioners I have ever had experienced with. He will call you back after hours within 3 minutes! Always. I supposedly have the top 100 physicians. But Dr. Helfin beats my dr by miles and miles. I can't say enough about him and his staff and Lisa the nurse. He or she never make you feel they don't have time even when you might go off subject. They sincerely care,GREAT
