Dr Last is competent and personable. I like his style - will always go to him when needed. What else can I say? He's the best!!

Clean and comfortable office, warm and friendly staff, professional and knowledgeable Doctor. I will continue to use Dr. Last , and would gladly recommend him to my family and friends.

Had some scalp issues a few years back from a bad barber shop. He knew I wasn't making much money, but he still helped me. I've been better awhile now but every time I look at my full head of hair I think of him. Dr.Last is a good doctor and a good man.

I've been seeing Dr. Last for years, since I was a teenager. I hadn't been to see him him for a number of years and just recently have used him for skin issues I noticed on my son. I had forgotten how positive an experience I had had with him. He was still warm and even humorous and his diagnosis was spot on. My son's skin cleared up so quickly. His staff was so friendly and easy to work with.

Dr. Last is just a great doctor. I've seen him regularly for most of my life, and he's cured multiple skin ailments for me. He's compassionate and caring, and always takes the time to listen to me completely before prescribing anything. I can't recommend him enough!

I have been seeing Dr. Last since 1985! He has taken the best care of me and my whole family! Always willing to go the extra mile to help me understand my diagnosis and is always kind, very helpful and compassionate. He is the only Dermatologist for me! 5+ Stars! His office staff is very friendly and helpful as well!

I have seen Dr. Last for 10+ years and I believe he is the best dermatologist in CT. He takes the necessary time to diagnosis and treat any/all conditions. He goes above and beyond for his patients! His staff members are all very polite and welcoming. Highly, highly recommend him

I am a long time patient of Dr Lasts. He has always given me and my family excellent care. Aside from being a very kind person, he takes time with all of us and in every has correctly diagnosed our skin problems. We have found his office staff extremely accommodating and pleasant.

Was able to get an appt rather quickly as most derm’tgists take months to get in. I received appropriate med care, but office staff treat patients like they’re a bother. I also had a very long wait each visit. I recently called to make another appt to get a Rx refill & was not nicely told “PLEASE HOLD”-guess they said please? There is no office without patients. There were also billing problems. I prefer to be treated with a bit more respect & will wait 4 months for an appt elsewhere.

this doctor is horrible! staff is rude and he has no bedside manner. I waited almost an hour for him to brush me off and offer me a sample of dove soap and Aveeno lotion! His name suits him well- since he is the LAST doctor I would ever see!!!

This man has the bedside manner of a putrifying corpse; offensive, irritating, and absolutely unconcerned with your health or medical history. Dr. Last has helped to resolve moderate-severe acne with a conservative approach, trying out weaker medicines (while monitoring bloodwork) before ultimately prescribing Accutane over the course of 3 years that I saw him. My only gripe would be that the office tends to be either booked to the limit or overbooked, resulting in brief appointments if you don't make sure to stop him to answer questions, or long waits depending on the day/time of the appointment. If you're patient and persistent in having your questions answered, you shouldn't have an issue. I have been treated for skin cancer from Dr Last for a few years. I read the other reviews and wonder if they went to the same office. The staff is wonderful, caring and very personable. Also, I have never had a difficulty waiting. As to Dr Last, he is very competent and knew when to refer me to a surgeon for possibly a life-saving issue. His follow up care has been excellent. I have been struggling with a staph infection for 6 months--a diagnosis reached by 3 different doctors. Dr. Last looked at one of the infected areas for 2 seconds, refused to let me describe my symptoms or previous course of treatment, told me I was suffering from hay fever (which I have had in the past and can recognize myself, thanks) then gave me a prescription for glorified Benadryl. I broke down crying in the parking lot. See someone who actually cares about his patients.

Best dermatologist I have ever seen. Having had skin cancer 3 times now in my life and having seen quite a few dermatologists, I have the most faith in dr Last.

This was my second negative experience, he walked in and basically berated me about not noticing his follow up mailings even before greeting. Then, I remembered why I did not come back. His arrogance, lack of bedside manner, he asked why, I wish I said, I remember why, you're condescending and unpleasant. His medical knowledge is marginal, at best. Should not be practicing.

Dr. Last feels mental health issues are not real or important.

He missed several areas during examination. He did not offer medicine needed for those areas therefore. He did not explain ramifications of areas he did find. He has the bedside manner of a troll. His office doesn't even have the courtesy to identify that one has reached a doctor's office when they answer the phone. They shut down for lunch instead of answering the phone by staggering lunch breaks among the staff. Just an all time miserable experience.

He is very personable and pro-active. He recently caught a suspicious mark and referred me to a specialist, which turned out to be cancer.

I will never go back. The doctor never addressed me by name and was not able to diagnose my condition. He spent <5 minutes with me as a new patient.

He did not listen to what I said, going so far as asking what I had told him 1 minute prior. He did not discuss post treatment with me at all. I have a trip coming up,and didn't plan on having a scab on my face. Never again will I see Dr Last.

I would look elsewhere - although i didn't actually see the doctor. I booked my apt three months with some woman who was not very pleasant. ugh. so the day of i called because like everyone else i work, have kids and have no time to wait and they said at 9 am he was already running 1/2 hour behind and to come for 11. I showed up at 10:45 and they told me it was cash or check only for my co pay- i said i wish i knew this and they said cash or check only. i could go to an atm... so they're running behind. same rude woman. but i can go to an atm. then i sit down and afte rwaiting for 20 minutes they called me up and said i needed a referral. seriously? they couldnt have asked me this in the three months time from making my apt? The same rude woman was even more rude. and the office manager didn't seem phased. sorry I am looking for a top notch dr AND nice and helpful staff. look elsewhere. It's a solo practice, so the wait time is long and Dr. Last is often in a rush. He's competent, he did get rid of my stubborn acne. However, he doesn't address any cosmetic issues which was a bit disappointing.

I was concerned about a spot on the left side of my head and called Dr. Gary Last's Office. My last visit to Dr. Last was 15 years ago prior to this one. The staff was very accommodating in the scheduling and I was fortunate enough to get a call on a cancellation. Although my wait in the office was rather long, about 45 minutes, there appears to be a shortage of Dermatologists in the area. Dr. Last set my mind at ease. He's a pro and I would not see another Dermatologist. Just a great doctor!

Over an hour wait to see him for 10 minutes. He barely examined my skin and sprayed my face with liquid nitrogen in 4 spots. He did most of the talking, referred me to a chart out near the desk, and said to see him again in 6 months.

Dr. Last was very pompous and rather arrogant. He didn't listen to any of my concerns and kept telling me not to worry and that I'm pretty. I went to a different dermatologist at UCHC and they diagnosed me with Melasma, which is now under control. It wasn't severe, but I did not appreciate Dr. Last trivializing my concerns.
