Gene Michael Gomez

The way that Dr. Gomez treated me was truly abhorrent. Despite "doing therapy" with me, he informed me--in a voice absolutely dripping with contempt--that he didn't "want or need to know anything about my life". In the beginning, he was very nice and helpful, but then he (very suddenly and unexpectedly) shifted into someone who was an absolute nightmare to work with. He afforded me virtually NO privacy or confidentiality: For example, he required that my every communication with him take place via group text message with my husband, and also that my husband be present at my appointments. He regularly twisted and misrepresented things that I'd said to him in an effort to convince others that I'd caused our problems. I could say a lot more about my time with Dr. Gomez here, but hope that patients who consider working with him get my point, and instead choose to seek out help from someone else.

Our family was living in crisis before Dr. Gomez. We had multiple other psychiatrists who tried to help our child, but did not have the same skills to deal with such a complex case. Dr. Gomez is careful, detailed/thorough, open to new ideas and research, and responds quickly to questions and concerns.

Dr Gomez helped my child when he was in crisis and helped manage behaviors in a way that worked for my child. He really listened to us. I would say anyone would be blessed to have the support of Dr Gomez.

Dr. Gomez has been the most caring psychiatrist I have seen. Yes, I am an adult and he is technically a child psychiatrist. I have found him to work very well with adults. He always answers my emails in a timely fashion and has contacted me by telephone to consult. He worked with me through some difficult times and is a genius with his knowledge medications. I only wish I saw him through a private practice and not a busy HMO. He is the best!
