Dr. Lake was recommended to me by a two people I know and trust. I wish I could have met him. Unfortunately (almost 10 years ago when I was still a minor) I left the care of Dr. Boken who also works at the same clinic as Dr. Lake because I was unhappy with her care. She put me on birth control (which had drastic side effects for me) instead of looking at my labs and realizing I was just anemic and needed iron. I was upset and moved on like any other adult (or minor who just became an adult) would. Until now. Today I called to make an appointment thinking all was normal in the world of medicine, only to have the office staff and manager tell me Dr. Lake would not see me (even though they “pleaded” my case) because not being happy with one of their doctors 10 years ago applies to all of them. Apparently (according to the office manager) all the doctors sat together and asked Dr. Boken if the 18 year old she saw almost 10 years ago would upset her if she came to see someone else now, and she said yes. It was even noted in my chart. In short, they asked I never call the clinic again for any doctor who works there. I’ve never met you Dr. Lake, but I don’t see how your clinic can claim to care about women’s health. When did practicing medicine become a profession where you black ball patients 90% of your doctors have never even met? Aren’t patients the reason you have clinic to begin with?
