After pbmc took over I saw this office go down hill. After that the new Dr. and partial new staff ensured that i will no longer ( after 6 years ) use this office. They don't call you with your blood results and let you sit ( cluess for weeks )sick with no answer. After calling back and asking about the testes I was told to make another appt to confirm my blood work and that i had high white blood cells ( after a tick bit) I've have now been sick over a month. So i make the new appointment only to get there and find out i can't see the dr, only a nurse and only for blood work nothing else. I suggest ANY OTHER DR OFFICE if you want or need answers. I have been going to PBMC in Shoreham for years. It is close to my home and easy to get to. I never, I repeat NEVER leave bad reviews and this will be my first. First of all, it’s impossible to get an appointment. It doesn’t matter what time you call, or how far in advance, they are never available. Second, you will wait in the waiting room for at least an hour. I recently started visiting walk ins and the wait times are MUCH less. Now to my most recent event- I have automatic refills on a prescription that I cannot be without (literally, I will suffer from unmanageable withdrawals). These types of medications are specifically warned against stopping cold turkey and you must be weened off of them. Now back to the automatic withdrawals- I received a call that my pharmacy would need more time to process the prescription because they needed to contact my provider (no problem) and then it would be ready as soon as possible. Almost a week went by, and I was going to stop by my pharmacy to pick up my prescription. Something told me to call them to make sure (I am on my last day of my pill). I called and they said that they were unable to fill it because my prescriber (the above doctors office) refused until I make an appointment with them. NO ONE REACHED OUT TO ME TO LET ME KNOW THAT I DIDNT HAVE MY PRESCRIPTION OR NEEDED AN APPOINTMENT. Not the pharmacy and CERTAINLY not the office. And of course I’m on my LAST PILL. I called PBMC, panicked but still friendly and was met by a nasty receptionist who clearly wanted to be out for the day and didn’t care to acknowledge the problem I was facing. I made her aware of the fact that I could not be without the medication because of the withdrawal symptoms and she basically gave me an “oh well” and said they wouldn’t be able to get me in for at least 4 days, if that. So the office was okay with their patient experiencing at least 4 days of chills, migraines, depressive thoughts, etc. Despicable. So much for doctors offices helping people. It was great under Dr Ruggiero and Dr Robato was good as well. Dr Carlson who is there now on the other hand is not personable, tells me she has none of my health records after years of going to that practice and wanted me to go thru tests my previous doctors said weren’t nessesary. Since then I’ve been getting sales calls from other offices in northwell health because of her. She’s not for her patience at all just in it for the money. On top of my complaining the interns are a nightmare. They make the appointment run so much longer wasting precious time. With that I’m loosing more hours at work. I hate to leave because Danielle who is their practitioner is great and is the only one I care to see at that practice. I hope the becomes their head doctor there someday. Really horrible experience. Scripts written incorrectly and then I have to pay for them when the mail order phrama will not take them back. Have asked to get a call from the doctor maybe 6 times and he has never returned my call. Travel further west on the island to get a doctor that is worth anything, I have yet to find one locally that knows what they are doing. Really horrible experience. We travel over 400 miles to see Dr. Ruggerio, and will continue to travel, he is that good. He takes his time with you answering all your questions, and never makes you feel rushed. We feel 100% confident in his treatment plans, I've see many, many doctors through the years and he is one of only a few I have the upmost respect for and trust. Dr Is a great guy. Unfortunately he sold or was taken over by Peconic Bay/LIJ and fell victim to current trends. His office staff is horrible to say the very least. They exemplify how the trend to bigger socialized medicine dumbs down the process. ALL they are concerned about is procedure and how they are getting paid. Your health and well being is secondary. Was a wonder with my 90 year old mother. Extremely patient and cordial. Treated her like family. Thanks Doctor!

VERY poor! My elderly mother has been his patient for almost a year and has yet to meet him. Today I went with her. Surprise the actual Dr was there. While we were waiting (2 hours) she ran out of oxygen. Ten minutes before the battery ran out I notified staff she would be needing oxygen within minutes. They told me to let them know when she ran out. I did. That's when they started to look for their oxygen tanks but not before they took precious minutes to argue with me about the way I asked. (I said she needed oxygen quickly) The doctor never came to check on her. I finally took her out to the car and plugged in her oxygen. No one ever came to see how she was, never called the house to check on her. The only thing I or she ever got was an argument and a nasty attitude. Yes, time for a new primary care physician.
