My experience with Dr. Rooker was legitimately awful — I can’t believe I actually paid anything for this service. She is a terrible communicator, acts like she never got basic training on how to guide a patient through the pelvic exam process (like, 101: inform the patient that the exam is about to begin...), and rushed through without explaining anything — including how she arrived at the diagnosis and what the diagnosis even means! On top of everything else, she has the bedside manner of the Grinch. I wish I had read all available negative reviews online before scheduling, and I had a much better experience several weeks later with another urologist, which reminded me that seeing a doctor shouldn’t ruin your day. Remember that you have the right to file a compliant with the PA State Board of Medicine if a doctor behaves unethically/unprofessionally. The nurses were very nice. However Dr . Rooker was very rude. I have never been made to feel so violated and unimportant from a doctor. She never did full exam and said my issues weren't her problem, yet I've been referred by multiple doctors to see a urologist. She doesn't communicate at all. Like another reviewer, stuck her fingers in me w/ no warning. When I told her I wanted her to warn me first if she was ever going to do that again, she ignored me -- actually pretended I hadn't said anything and started talking about something else. I brought it up again, told her I'd felt unsafe and no gyno had ever done that to me w/o telling me first. She told me my being startled had nothing to do with her medical conclusions. I told her I wasn't questioning her medical conclusions but wanted my concern heard. Her response? She rolled her eyes & charged out of the room without even explaining what my diagnosis meant. Also had no bedside manner & didn’t even look at my intake ppw (I know bc I completed it in the exam room and it was behind her on the counter untouched the whole time). Remember: if anything like this happens to you, you can report to the board of medicine, your insurance company, & other agencies, & you can talk to a doctor’s supervisor. I'd never reported a doc b4.

When I scheduled with Dr. Rooker, I thought I was lucky to be scheduled with a female urologist, as there are so few. Boy, was I wrong. Like another reviewer on a different site (ratemds), I had the experience that she shoved her fingers into my vagina with virtually no warning, which really shocked me. Immediately after that happened, I told her (pretty darn calmly, although I felt shaken) that I wanted her to let me know if she was ever going to put anything inside me during a future exam. Her response? She actually behaved as though I hadn’t said anything. She made no response whatsoever, but started talking about something else. I was totally confused by this, so after she had said a few things, I returned to what had happened. I told her I’ve had many gyno exams but have never had a doctor give me zero indication that they were about to put a finger inside me, and I that I’d felt startled and uncomfortable. This time, she responded by actually rolling her eyes at me and telling me that “my being startled had nothing to do with her medical conclusions from the exam.” Then when I told her I wasn’t questioning her medical conclusions but still wanted to her to hear my concern, she actually charged out of the room. That’s right. It was the equivalent of her hanging up the phone on me. No goodbye, no “you can check out now,” nothing about scheduling any follow-up with her. On top of all that, she had absolutely no bedside manner, treated me like I was an inanimate object, didn’t even look at my history or intake paperwork (I know because I had finished filling it out in the exam room, and it was on the counter behind her the entire time, untouched), and cut off the conversation before even explaining to me what my diagnosis meant. Remember: if anything like this happens to you, you can report to the Board of Medicine, your insurance company, and other agencies. You can also make a report to your doctor's supervisor. I had never done any of these things before Dr. Rooker.

I never write reviews, but I couldn't let this one go. Dr. Rooker was the most unfriendly, uncaring, unprofessional doctor. I don't feel that she listened to me at all or explained anything. She said she was going to feel my bladder. I thought that meant to palpate the outside of my stomach. Instead, without warning, she inserts finger(s) inside of my vagina quickly. I was mortified, not to mention I had a tampon in. Then she told me to limit my caffeine intake, and left the room. Horrible!

I go to the Ohio Valley Hospital. Staff is friendly, minimal wait to be seen seen my the doctor. Dr. Rooker has a calming demeanor and put me at ease during an unpleasant experience. She is both professional and competent

Went twice. Had urine tested. Before results, given prescription for urinary tract infection. Questioned why with no proof. No explanation. Didn't fill prescription, and never went back.

I was treated at the Heckel Road location by Dr. Rooker. After a minimal wait Dr. Rooker introduced herself with a smile and a handshake. It had been several years since I had a urological exam, but I was immediately put at ease. Dr. Rooker LISTENED PATIENTLY to me as I reviewed my previous conditions and my current concerns. I did not feel “rushed.” Uro exams are something I’d rather avoid, but her professionalism made an unpleasant situation much more bearable. Her staff was "top shelf."

I was very satisfied with everybody i have dealt with these past 6 weeks that i've been going there. The staff was very friendly. Barb helped me to get everything together for my surgery. Dr. Rooker was fantastic. She's very friendly, took her time with me and i didn't feel rushed. I would recommend them.
