Dr Cousins is very knowledgeable and very caring.

Incompetent and not knowledgeable with CDC and Louisiana guidelines for Covid. Long wait. Rude doctor, allowed staff member to come out and openly reveal parts of my medical history in front of a full waiting room. Appt was at 8:45 and was left to wait in my car and not seen until 12:45. Never apologized for wait or inconvenience to me and my wife. If you want to see some one who is not compassionate about her patients. See Dr. Gwen Cousins. Most useless and non-compassionate doctor I’ve seen in my 38 years.

Dr. Cousins is impatient and condescending. I was diagnosed by her with macular degeneration. She gave me instructions but very little information about the condition and what it meant for me long term. I had to ask questions directly to get more information and/or research on my own (i.e. the difference between wet and dry MD, prognosis with treatment, specifically what signs she saw that concerned her, etc). My questions seemed to annoy her. I went for 2 visits (maybe she was just having a bad day) before concluding I should move on. The second visit was worse than the first. I had to go thru a nearly two hour assembly line of imaging and waiting before seeing her and I got the same condescending demeanor. It’s important to me to feel that I’m in good hands and I was unsettled after both appointments. I have found another retinologist.

The office staff and Dr. Cousins are very patient and supportive.

Horrible doctor. My mother is blind in one eye after 3 surgeries.
