Dr. Brooks took the time to provide thorough, detailed, and understandable information about my cancer diagnosis and treatment options. She answered all my questions in a patient, comprehensible manner, helping me weight the pros and cons of the various options, and explained the causation and probability of recurrence in a way that allowed me to make more informed decisions. By demystifying the disease process, and through her empathy and compassion, Dr. Brooks helped me to stay calm, assess the situation more clearly, and feel like a more active participant in the treatment process. She has also been extremely helpful and knowledgable in providing genetic counseling to myself and my family. I highly recommend her and cannot praise her enough! Dr. Brooks provided a thoughtful, clear explanation of the causes, genetic relationships, and possible treatments of prostate cancer. THE BEST!!! Dr. Hannah Brooks is my FAVORITE doctor! She is conscientious, empathetic, and absolutely BRILLIANT! She seeks out the answers tirelessly. She ALWAYS acts in the best interest of the patient. She has impeccable professional integrity. She puts her own needs aside to benefit her patients. Dr. Brooks is very highly educated and informed, -a true expert in her field. I would trust her with my life. She is so detail oriented; she doesn't miss a beat. She makes difficult situations easier on her patients by going the extra mile and being efficient and highly organized. I have not met a physician who takes as much ownership as Dr. Brooks. Dr. Hannah Brooks displays the unusual combination of expert knowledge and profound respect for her patients. When you're facing a cancer diagnosis, you need to understand all aspects of the disease and its treatment options. Dr. Brooks is an eloquent teacher who effectively leads her patients through their family history, genetic mapping, risk factors, pros and cons of surgical and/or radiation treatments, potential and likely side effects of each, and the most recent research findings. CARING, she thinks of the little things too, helped me with stuff the other doctors should have recommended.Explains it all in laymen terms. My tumor was so big I did not have time for a second opinion. We both were new to the area so I really didn't want to see someone I didn't know. I met her angry, frustrated and gloomy about my future. She convinced me to come back and that I will live. She performed a difficult five and a half surgery & I am alive and well. She was a little different then most but I definitely would recommend her. I think the problem was my fears. She brought me back from the dark and kept me focused. She got me to all the doctors I needed, the referrals, appt. Everything needed to move forward with less stress . Her & the team she created worked out great.
