Phenomenal Experience starting with receptionists :Celi and Lisa. Both were terrific and respectful. I was taken in to the examination room by a very polite medical assistant named Jon. After a short wait, Amber Lee came in . She is Dr. MAKAAR'S assistant. She was kind, compassionate and very knowledge. Amber Lee was so considerate of my care and welfare- a top notch nurse. She administered the numbing shots and then Dr. Makaar entered the room. Dr. Makaar is extraordinary. He prepared me ahead of time and let me know what to expect and how to hasten recovery. The Doctor was fine but the staff at Cromwell Ct was awful. About a week after my mohs operation I had a question concerning my incision I called the office and the receptionist blew me off and when I finally got a call from a nurse she was very rude and did not help me at all. If you have a question after the operation you are on your own as the staff will not help you at all they are very rude and act like you are bothering them

I had mohs surgery on my hand for a small squamous cell cancer and he made a 5 in long incision and did a terrible job of sewing it up. A week and a half after the surgery and my hand is still swollen and sore I would not recommend this doctor at all.

I had Mohs surgery to remove basal cell carcinoma from my face, needless to say I was a nervous wreck! When I arrived for my procedure Dr Makkar, Lily my nurse and all of the staff that day answered the 100 questions I had with out hesitation, and took excellent care of me and my family who were there to support me! They made me feel at ease and confident which very much helped me get through the experience. Everyone I interacted with at the Southington office was genuinely kind and compassionate . Dr. Makkar has a wonderful " bedside manner" sometimes this is lacking in highly specialized physicians .The site was facial. My wife, a 35 year ER veteran R.N. , changed the initial dressing and said the skin repair was the finest micro- stitching she remembers ever seeing. Fantastic Dr. who is extremely proficient at his profession. I have been operated on by him twice and I express all confidence in his ability. His assistant Chelsea is a pleasure as well. I highly recommend his practice.

I had a procedure performed 10/8/20 in Southington by Dr. Makkar. I have to say that the staff were extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. I want to give special thanks to Dr. Makkar for his follow up phone call knowing that he would place my mind at ease with the information he supplied. What a compassionate man!

I had mohs surgery here. Dr. Makkar and all of the nursing staff, especially Amy and Adbul, were amazingly helpful in getting me through the surgery. When I had some concerns over the weekend, I received a personal call back from Dr. Makkar. He observed some of my anxieties and was helpful in discussing my post-surgical issues in a holistic way while still letting me know what medication he could prescribe if needed. He looked at photos that I emailed of the surgical site. Importantly, Dr. Makkar is incredibly skilled. I needed stitches and a flap; he helped me discuss these options and make the best decision about them. He did an amazing job. He talked me through the procedure. I believe that the scarring will be minimal because of his expertise; plus, more importantly, no more cancer. I had mohs surgery here. Was referred to his office. Attempts to contact his office and find out where he is located failed. No one answering phone nor returning six voicemail messages. Voicemail states office staff will be back in touch in 72 hours which seemed odd. No return call even after two weeks. I gave up and went to someone else. I have melanoma. I needed a doctor who was far more responsive and organized.

Everything here was good but the Nurses were great and made all the difference.

I was so pleasantly surprised by Dr Makkals bedside manner! He was lovely and more importantly did an incredible job on my elderly mothers mohs surgery. Also, the staff was incredibly kind, from the front desk to the nurses. Thank you for caring about your patients!

We saw Dr. Makkar yesterday for our daughter. My husband and I noted to one another that we’ve never met someone who came across so genuinely kind and caring! He was extremely knowledgeable and wonderful with our baby! Thank you Dr. Makkar!!
