A dentist is a person qualified by a doctorate in dental surgery (D.D.S.) or dental medicine (D.M.D.), licensed by the state to practice dentistry, and practicing within the scope of that license. There is no difference between the two degrees: dentists who have a DMD or DDS have the same education. Universities have the prerogative to determine what degree is awarded. Both degrees use the same curriculum requirements set by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation. Generally, three or more years of undergraduate education plus four years of dental school is required to graduate and become a general dentist. State licensing boards accept either degree as equivalent, and both degrees allow licensed individuals to practice the same scope of general dentistry. Additional post-graduate training is required to become a dental specialist.

Probably more like 4.75 stars, because they made me wait 20 minutes (past my appointment time) before calling me back. But at this point, I expect all doctors to be running behind, no matter what, so it wasn't a HUGE deal. This was my first visit. I liked the dentist & hygienist. They were both gentle & asked questions to make sure I was comfortable. Though the dentist was quite young, he was very good & professional.

When I first started going here I liked the treatment I got. I felt the staff was very competent and did a good job. But, the more I came back the more I saw new people all the time and wondered why. Well it’s pretty apparent they don’t treat their staff very well. I witnessed it first hand with one of the dentists being rude to an assistant. Also if you don’t want to be pressured into thousands of dollars worth of implants (about $4000 a tooth!) you probably should avoid this practice. Went in for a filling got turned away because of high blood pressure. Still in pain not their issue. I was in severe pain which caused high blood pressure. Just worked a twelve waited 30 minutes past appointment time and was the only one there. I guess they’re more concerned with legal issues than treating patients

I had a crown replaced in June 2020, it was the first crown I've had made using digital technology rather than by mold. When it came in the dentist had to make major adjustments to it just to get it to fit. It was ill fitting from the very beginning and very uncomfortable. Since we are in the throes of COVID I decided just to deal with it until the pandemic resolved. In late December I was simply flossing my teeth and the crown came out. I had it recemented, this procedure also required additional adjustment to get it to fit, it would just fall out instead of seating and required extra cement to get it to stay. The tooth remains uncomfortable, I contacted the office to see if anything could be done regarding getting a new crown made with a cost adjustment since insurance only covers crowns every 5 years. I was told by the office manager that she needed to consult the dentist (Liz) and the office would get back to me the next day. The office contacted me today offering to recement or replace the crown at no cost. I asked for a new crown since this one obviously didn't fit correctly. I had additional questions regarding my plan of care, the office worker consulted with Dr. Liz and came back to the phone stating Dr. Liz felt that the crown should just be cemented back in again. This really upset me, especially since I fully explained my problem the previous day and was offered a new crown which was the appropriate course of action. I am writing this so others will not have the same abysmal customer service experience, I will NEVER come back to Fioritto Dental again and will be transferring to a competent practice ASAP I had a crown replaced in June 2020, it was the first crown I've had made using digital technology rather than by mold. For a “Family Dentist” they don’t appear to know how to treat a child. My five year old was having sealants placed today and the hygienist assigned to her was not equipped nor seemed to be comfortable working on a child. She gagged my daughter, which happens and it caused my daughter to become upset and cry. Mostly because she, like most everyone else I know, despises vomiting. It was the first time she has gagged and to her she thought she was going to vomit so she was upset. Not a big deal, but the hygienist panicked, then got Dr. Bryce who came in and said they can’t treat her here, told us to find a pediatric dentist, and in essence shamed my wife and my daughter out the door like it was somehow their fault that the staff of a “family dentist” doesn’t know how, nor cares to even try, to understand the situation. By the way, by the time he entered the room, my daughter had already stopped crying. Now our family is looking for a new dentist, with a traumatized five year old that will probably not trust dentists for a long time. Talk about false advertising and another case of a company that got too big too fast. Disgusting For a “Family Dentist” they don’t appear to know how to treat a child. This was a very bad experience, the people at the front desk were rude & very condescending. I took time off work & traveled over 45 minutes to get there. To get no service. I waited 48 minutes in the waiting room.At the end of this nightmare it was all about our color. Stay away

I love everyone who works here. I have a serious dental phobia, and Fioritto in Mentor has been so compassionate and sensitive. They've gone out of their way to accommodate me. Dr. Liz is the best.

I have been going here for years, they have always treated my family and I extremely well. Last year my wife had an emergency root canal done somewhere else and they ended up botching the procedure. I immediately called Fioritto's and took her there. They took very good care of her and I feel that the price was worth the care they took. They gave us estimates for the entire procedure. And once all was said and done actually ended up refunding us a portion of what we paid because our insurance covered more than their estimate! I would have never known if they had kept the extra money! I would recommend them over and over! I have been going here for years, they have always treated my family and I extremely well. My husband of 67 went in with a bad infection and instead of focusing on his immediate medical problem one of the dentists (dont know his name) tried to talk him into $5-15K of implants. When my husband refused and wanted to do what he can to save his tooth instead, the dentist gave him antibiotics and withheld pain meds - treated him like he just left rehab! Told him eventually the pain would subside - 24 hours later still in excruciating pain my husband finally relented and had the tooth pulled. I always liked that practice but now it is too commercialized and a business - no longer a dental office. And furthermore at 67 years old why would one spend $15k on implants when our bones are more fragile the older we get. So, this is gonna be a little long winded, but stick with me if you can. I made an appointment for a cleaning, exam, and x rays. I was told that would cost somewhere around $370 without insurance. As I am still listed as active on my father's insurance plan, I figured it would be okay and that I was still covered. After the exam, they wanted me to come back in 2 weeks for an extensive cleaning and to fill one tiny cavity. They told me the cost would be around $450 but after insurance, it would only cost me a little over $100. About a week after my first exam, the office called me to tell me that I was in fact no longer on my father's insurance (an oversight by the insurance company). So I figured "Okay. I'll pay the amount for the original exam and what not, along with the $400+ for the cavity and extra cleaning on my second visit." I go for my second visit and everything is cool. Until we finish and I go to the counter to pay. I was told my total for my first visit and this one would be $1,600. I couldn't understand why it was so much, and since I couldn't talk (my mouth was numb) I just paid $500 and agreed to pay the remainder over the next 2 months. I get an email the next day asking me to take a survey about my experience. I gave them one star in that review because no one told me prior that it was going to cost that much. I felt blindsided. About an hour after I left that review, I got a phone call from the office manager there, explaining that they give better rates to insured patients. All I told her was that I was upset that no one told me it was going to cost $1,600. She maintained that I "Should have known how insurance works" and got very short with me. She sounded annoyed and said, "So you take no responsibility for not knowing how these things work?" I just think it's ridiculous that you're going to charge someone 4X the amount originally quoted without telling them beforehand. The staff (aside from the office manager) were incredible. Had it not been for this situation, I would recommend this office to anyone. But to wait until the procedure is done to tell someone they owe that much money is crazy. Although staff was nice, head dentist was like a tyrant, yelling at a employee over nothing. When approached about it he gave me attitude also. To say the least, my family will not be back!

Took my twin 11 year old sons for the first time today. After being with their previous dentist they were very impressed and the hygenist made sure she told them step by step what she was doing while cleaning their teeth. If they were scared, gagging or just plain couldn't handle it they stopped immediately. They do not have the spit & water sink they use a "sucker" which the kids found really cool. They answered any questions we had professional and made it such an "unscary" experience. Took my twin 11 year old sons for the first time today.
