I had an issue with my ear that required surgery. As with any surgery the potential risks are always scary. I went to several surgeons and put off the surgery for 10 years because they just didn't make me feel confident. Finally I met Dr McAfee. His calming demeanour and grasp of the situation just made me feel comfortable. I had the surgery and everything went perfectly. I cannot say enough good things about Dr McAfee. From our first visit to my final post op visit. He was tremendous. He is obviously highly skilled, but more importantly he cares. He takes the time to explain everything. He responds to every question. Never makes you feel rushed. He just makes you feel like your case is important to him. And after the surgery he was generally happy, not just as a doctor who resolved a patient's issue, but as a human being who just helped another human being. That type of personal personal care is tough to find these days. Thank you Dr McAfee.

Dr. McAfee failed to properly diagnose my Patulas Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, ruling it as an allergy although I consistently expressed my extreme discomfort. I have now been failing to receive proper treatment and his recommendations have drastically had a negative impact on my well-being. I hope that Dr. McAfee learns to listen and prioritize the concerns of his patients as opposed to acting on his own false motives.

Dr McAfee is a miracle worker. He restored my hearing in my right ear. No more hearing aids. I couldn't be happier!!!

Excellent, professional and extremely kind Doctor!

A few years back I was going to another EN&T location for hearing loss. That place had recommended hearing aids. After multiple visits and adjustments, they were unable to help me. Getting frustrated with my hearing loss, I reached out to Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat. I spoke with Dr. Houston and Dr. McAfee. They told me about otosclerosis. After a stapedectomy procedure in for both ears, my hearing was so much better. I don't even use my hearing aids today. Dr. McAfee performed both procedures and carefully explained the benefits and possible risks of the procedure. I am very grateful for Dr. McAfee and the staff at Coastal Ear, Nose, and Throat. I highly recommend Dr. McAfee and the team at Coastal. They definitely made my quality of life so much better than it was previously.

Dr McAfee is a caring and thorough physician. He quickly solved my problem. He listens and is very comforting. I also have to give a compliment to his office staff. Everyone there is knowledgeable, pleasant and realize your time is valuable; they do not keep you waiting.

Would adamantly not recommend this practice or DR. And this is why: The staff can be hit or miss, meaning they can be flat out rude with attitude or very nice. Depends who you get, and what sort of day theyre having. Thats the first warning sign. 2) Made an appointment for severe vertigo. Arrived, and filled out all the paperwork. Sat in the office for >30 minutes before one of the front staff called me over to say Dr Mcafee had to leave and that i missed my appointment. I said I was here and had to fill out all your paperwork. They said they still had to reschedule. So upon leaving the dr is out in the parking lot loading up his car with equipment. Very unprofessional. If this was any indication of their attitude or services I'm glad I found out now before having any procedures done and will not be back.

I have been under the care of Dr. McAfee for over a year. He is an excellent ENT. I would highly recommend him if you are in search of an ENT. I trust him with my life, and I respect his opinion concerning my health.

Dr. McAfee is an incredible physician and an even better surgeon. From the minute I met him upon my initial consultation to the follow up after my surgery, Dr. McAfee is the gold standard as to what a doctor should be. He explains things thoroughly, isn't in a rush, allows the patient to ask any questions or ask for further clarification and has excellent bedside manner. In my 45 years, Dr. McAfee is the best doctor I've ever had. And the office is the most organized I've ever seen.

I, too have found Dr. McAfee very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I have hearing problems caused by jet whine and he and his assistant Dr. Cieri have been very helpful. I would recommend Dr. McAfee to anybody. Thank you sir for your help and understanding to this old man.

Truly Perfect across the board. Sits with you for an extended time,actively listening, before he even examines you. Extremely thorough. Kind, non alarmist. Obviously beyond competent and educated- (hes a neurotologist that’s not exactly an easy course of study) but able to relay that information needed to you in a simple easy to understand Manner. He is OUTSTANDING.Now for his front desk staff..the woman who took my Initial appointment lacked patience, listening skills and was extremely notably rude every time I spoke to her as I had to reschedule. It is a shame that she is the first impression that someone would have for this manS office. Front desk workers at a doctors office sometimes have such an heir about them- one that the NEUROSURGEON THEMSELVES would never have.

Dr. McAfee helped me monitor my surfers ear (he's performed many procedures to help surfers and swimmers etc, is dialed into the latest ways to handle and was very clear and helpful to me along the way) until it was time to have a canalplasty. I'm glad I found him and he's changed my quality of life, thank you!

I saw Dr. McAfee and I thought he was very professional and friendly. I have Meniere's and was treated originally by Dr. Mary, who I love, as she fixed my dizziness and I am forever grateful to her. Dr McAfee is very knowledgeable and since Dr Mary is no longer seeing patients, I will use Dr McAfee as he seemed very caring.

Dr. McAfee provided care to my son for years whenever he would have an ear issue. Recently I saw him with my first ever adult ear infection. He has provided excellent care to both me and my son. I highly recommend him as a provider.

Dr. McAfee took care of my 2 year old son today. He was kind, compassionate and helped us get through the visit with a smile. You can tell he works with kids often. He was quick to identify the issue and solved it in the same visit as well. I would trust him with my son’s life and would recommend him to anyone who needs a smart and thorough ENT. 10/10 in my book.

I was very fortunate to be able to see Dr. mcAfee within a short period of time. He chose a less invasive approach for my problem instead of being so aggressive in the beginning. It was the correct approach and a small issue was resolved in a short period of time. I would definitely use him again if need be and I would definitely recommend him to all of my friends .

Avoid this Dr. and place like the plague. I found Dr. McAfee to be incompetent. I was misdiagnosed and suffered unnecessarily for three weeks. This place/Dr. only cares about getting your $$$ before you leave. In addition he has a terrible bedside manner!

Quick and easy! Should’ve gotten here sooner. I was loosing hearing in both ears, more so in my left ear. I thought it was due to my age and years of abuse. Turns out it was wax buildup. Ten minutes in the chair and I was up and running again! It was actually a fun visit. This will definitely be added to my yearly maintenance!

Dr. McAfee is very knowledgeable and seems very confident and enjoy what his doing, that is cutting peoples ears, Lol My ear is next when the green light is granted to conduct the Cochlear Implant, CI, surgery. At this point I am very comfortable to work with Dr. McAfee and I will follow up with my success story post the CI surgery in the near future. Smile

I have been seeing Dr. Mc Afee for 3 years. His office is well run. His staff are always professional and considerate. Dr. Mc Afee is kind and has good listening skills. I always feel cared for.

Stay far away from this practice!! They care more about their bottom line than their patients. It is very unfortunate. I know several people who have had an issue with visits being "coded" incorrectly so that they can bill a higher rate. Be very careful.

Saw this Dr, today absolutely no bedside matter if your going to be a Dr. You need to be able to listen and communicate in a friendly matter. Took a test and because I didn’t listen to his instructions and closed my eyes accidentally he stated he could not properly diagnose me did you ever think to try the simple test again!!! He spoke fast and I had to go over the instructions for care with the nurse again when he left!! I felt like I couldn’t ask him any questions! Will never go back to him!

Dr. McAfee was very friendly and listened carefully to everything we had to say. He was very informative and thorough and gave us a list of locations for a hearing aid evaluation that accept our insurance
