Very unprofessional clinic Specifically with the so call Doctor Jaime Villarreal, its a waist of money and time, I'm a private pay and I paid to see the Dr. not the assistance and even though they said it was protocol I accepted the treatment but nothing worked for the pain in my sciatic nerve, so when I scheduled a seconds visit to see the Dr. he won't even see me out of courtesy at least, and on top of that they wanted to reschedule my appointment the day before ot was.for because the assistant was going to be out, horrible service and they DO NOT cate about the patient, it's all about the money.

18 years ago, Dr. V did my successful triple bypass. At that time I had a 40% & 50% blockage in the widow maker that couldn’t be addressed because of lacking technology. 18 years later that same blockage is 95 and 99%. I chose Dr. V again to perform a 2nd life-saving surgery and am currently recovering. Simply put, I am alive today because of Dr. V and his team and would not trust anyone else. Dr. Villarreal and his staff are second to none. I am living proof.

Both my husband and myself have had spinal surgery performed by Dr. Villarreal using robotic surgery. He is the first Doctor who used the robotic equipment in the RGV for spinal surgery. Although he is an orthopedic surgeon he specializes only in neck and back surgery. He listens carefully to his patients and then discusses the plan for treatment in easy to understand explanations. There is plenty of time for questions. From X-rays, MRI or CAT scans he makes sure surgery will be successful by injecting the problem area first. He is caring and kind. His staff are friendly and make sure everything works smoothly. We would recommend him to anyone needing his specialty. I went to see this Doctor, due to neck pain. I ended up having surgery with him. Immediately after the surgery, I started experiencing lower back pain (I’ve never, ever had lower back pain in my life, NEVER), after the surgery I ended up with left shoulder and the whole left arm pain, lower back pain, and the neck pain and headaches never went away. I went to see another doctor in Houston, looking for a second opinion due to I’m miserable living with this pain, and I am going to need a second surgery. Stay away from this Doctor. I had surgery in Sept 20 and have had no problems since. 2016 I was diagnosed with a curve in my spine by the VA who had me waiting since 2016. For like 4 years I have been seeing a pain management Dr. And for years I have been bound to a wheel chair. Well untill recently Dr. Villarreal preformed surgery on my lumbar where it showed I had 2 pinched nerves. 4 weeks as of November 11, 2021 I can now once walk again. My question is if my pain management Dr. Knew what was wrong why did they not recommend me to a surgeon. I know why! Because the want you coming back for the injections or try to get you implant a $40,000 pain implant installed.THANK YOU DR. Dr. Villarreal was very professional and very attentive to my pain. We tried all options before surgery. He did surgery on my 5th lumbar after months of severe pain. My experience was better than I imagined. So grateful I was helped and was able to walk the same day.

Dr. Villareal has been thoroughly professional with me & told me my options up front. Once I got vaccinated for COVID-19 I went back to him for the procedure that has basically eliminated my back pain. I am a veteran & would recommend Dr. Villareal to any vet with back problems.

I had my 1st appointment today with Dr. Villarreal. I didn't know what to expect seeing a new physician. The staff was friendly and took me to the exam room quickly, I waiting less than 15 minutes, which is great for someone with back pain. No one wants to wait for hours to be seen. Dr. V came in asked me a series of questions and explained the Do's and don'ts. No other Dr. I have seen for my back has actually explained what steps I should take to keep me from straining my spine. Dr.Villarreal is one of the most caring and knowledgeable spine surgeons/ physicians in the RGV. Coming from an injury that occurred as a D1 athlete in which had been going on for about 10 month, and not one of many doctors I went to could tell me why I was in so much pain that ran from my lower back all the way down to my toes, which further led me to loosing strength & function in one leg. It wasn’t until I came to Dr. Villarreal that he listened to me patiently as I explained what had been going on the past 10 months while carefully assessing me that led to me needing to have surgery. He walked me through all my options, while answering every question I had towards what he thought was best in regards to my situation. I’m so blessed to have had Dr.Villarreal put in my path as my surgeon. From the first appointment I had till now, Dr. Villarreal has always helped me in any way he could, while always having my best interest at heart. I don’t regret my decision one bit. Staff is exceptional as well, I love the staff as they are always so kind and ready to help me in any way they can. Dr. Villarreal is the most caring surgeon i know. He takes time to explain the surgery in detail, ask if you have questions, even takes time to call your family member and explain what is going to be done. His assistant is always caring and help full.

NO RESPECT FOR PATIENTS!!!! VERY adversarial from the moment he walked in the room. Took it as a personal attack when I asked him to refer to the extensive notes I provided instead of forcing me to repeated the information for a 3rd, 4th or even 5th TIME. The whole conversation was like an interrogation from the second he came in the room!!! I cam in with a detailed MRI report and CD yet still INSISTED on doing a physical exam and poking and prodding my TORN SPINE. When I refused due to the pain I knew it would cause he got even more disrespectful. I ended up walking out because he REFUSED to take no for an answer! I don't need to lose multiple nights sleep from pain just to satisfy his personal preferences. There is NOTHING new to be learned from an exam that wasn't ALREADY in the MRI!!!!! Dr. Villareal is definitely a magician! I've had lower back pain for quite some time now, and it is now gone. In clinic, he took his time with me, assessed my symptoms, and provided me with an efficient treatment plan. Would recommend to anyone with chronic back pain.

The best thoracic spine surgeon in all of South Texas. Dr. Villarreal has been my spinal specialist since 2018 and has performed two complex surgeries on my thoracic spine T3 through T8. I was completely paralyzed from from my waist down and the surgeries helped regain my touch sensation from the injury point down to my ankles at around 90-99%. I was also able to regain my mobility to be able to ambulate with forearm crutches. I can go on and on how wonderful Dr. Villarreal is and how he gave me the miracle to ambulate again. The Best! I am very satisfied with his performance as a Surgeon and all his efforts to help me reach a better quality of life after receiving several other back surgeries from a different doctor. By far the best Back and spine doctor I have ever seen. I am a 100% disabled veteran who has back problems for 20 years from an injury I received in the military. ARMY doctors would not give me the time or evaluations I needed and just wanted to prescribe me pain pills. After moving to the RGV a few years back I was recommended to a new young back and Spine doctor and was told about his credentials. From the first day I met Dr Villarreal, he has shown a genuine care for me as a patient. I have never had things explained to me the way he explains things and breaks them down. Not once had he tried to send me away with just pain meds, he had a treatment plan for me and when surgery was the last resort he told me to take my time and think about it. Dr Villarreal performed a double fusion on my L4-S1 and told me I’d immediately feel relief, I did. I recommend Dr Villarreal to anyone who has suffered from back injuries and doesn’t want someone to just give them pain killers. To all my fellow Veterans, I am living proof that of what a bad a** doctor this guy is. Doc I thank you for what you have done for me by giving me my life back and my family thanks you as well.
