TL;DR: Greenwood is so lucky to have Dr. Fowler starting his practice here. In one day I experienced the best and worse medical care of my life. I was diagnosed with some minor skin cancer around my lip. Two weeks before my surgery I started calling the Dermatologist office to see if I could get a second opinion from a Dermatologist, and since it was a facial procedure a Plastic Surgeon... they never answered the phone nor returned my calls. So two days before the surgery I finally got in touch with them and was told it wouldn't be a big deal so no worries right... WRONG! Turns out there was more cancer than they realized and I needed a Plastic Surgeon... STAT! Thank God that Dr. Fowler had started his practice here and was able to see me that afternoon. He and his staff were so professional and went the extra mile to get me into the Surgery Center the next day. Just got the stiches out today and the results are amazing. Dr. Fowler is a gifted surgeon, has a great bedside manner, and his staff is second to none. Greenwood is lucky to have him.

The worst Doctor in the practice. He is the most unprofessional , nasty talking ,inconceivable beside manor, so called doctor I ever encountered. He have no encouraging help with your problem nor any sympathy, the only thing he is good at saying is LOSE WEIGHT and pay out of pocket (quote for plastic surgery). I went from breast reduction and was denied twice by this dumb man. I would not recommend an animal to this doctor and especially not fellow man. Do not make an appointment with Dr. Fowler if you are a smoker. Totally disappointed. A total waste of time. They should have ask up front if you are a smoker. Not a very passionate or concerning doctor in my opinion.

I had the best experience with Dr. Fowler and his staff at Carolina Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics. I am extremely happy with my results and follow up care. Dr. Fowler has completely changed my life and confidence. He did an amazing job on my breast augmentation and made me feel completely comfortable. He is very knowledgeable and made sure I knew what to expect. He is to the point and quick but doesn’t rush you at all, and has an all around great demeanor. I knew I was in great hands. He and his staff are always very responsive, helpful, fun, and kind whether it be at an appointment, via MyChart messaging, or over the phone. I will be forever grateful to him for what he has done for me.

I was very pleased with my breast reduction. The staff was so very helpful and comforting when I would freakout about something post surgery. Our consult visit was very thorough. Dr Fowler was very patient with my 82 yr old father in law. The description of what to expect was layman's terms was much appreciated by my father-in-law. As a RN, I was very pleased with compassion demonstrated by both Dr, nurse and receptionist. Thank you!

I normally have better things to do with my time then write a review but I feel like the level of poor attitude and service needs to be known about Dr. Fowlers staff. I originally looked into the services and had a consultation from Dr Fowler several months ago for a tummy tuck after having losing weight after bariatric surgery. I was told I would hear back from the office over the cost of the services and if it was covered by my insurance. To this day I have not heard back from them on that after reaching out several times.... I have since made another appointment (why I had to do that, I don't know since they had all of my information there as well as they did take photos) for the same exact thing. I had called yesterday to see if anything with my appointment has changed since I am out of town and was told no it has not... Today I get a call from Tanya telling me (for my appointment thats tomorrow) that the DR needs to change my appointment to morning instead of afternoon. I explained that I can't change it and that it needs to stay the same. She said someone would call me back.. I was then called back by some witch who tells me she was told I had refused to change my appointment and she tells me the whole typical coronavirus story and that I (YES ME) needs to be more understanding and that she talked to the DR and he refused to do surgery on me. Now I understand our country does have an issue going with this virus but if he could physically see me in the morning when then wanted to change my appt time to, then he could of in the afternoon or have offered me another appointment date and time since this one did not work for me... Overall. Crappy office and Crappy staff, don't waste your time or money going to this place.

10 years later, I feel angry and cheated that Dr. Fowler and his associate decided on their own -while I was unconscious on the table - to skip the medial part of the thigh lift. When I questioned him post-op, he said "You didn't want a scar down your thigh anyway," to which I replied, "Yes, I did." He also refused to do necessary liposuction with the procedures because claimed not to know how to bill the covered and non-covered procedures in the same surgery (though he did figure out how to charge for my uncovered tummy tuck). To this day I feel misshapen and cheated.

As a nurse for Prisma Health, I know part of our mission is to “Serve with compassion.” Dr. James A. Fowler, III did not treat my son or myself in that manner during our ED visit on 12/27/19-12/28/19, after a MVA. I have several concerns other than Dr. Fowler’s choice of words and attitude. 1.) He did not explain to me or my son what he would be doing prior to procedure. 2.) patient privacy was violated as he began the procedure with the door to the room standing open for every visitor and patient to walk by the room and see in while my son endured his hand of pain. While then being told by Dr. Fowler to “don’t yell or be loud, it’s unnerving to other patients.” I then told him he could shut the door, and pushed it closed myself. When I finally asked him to stop because my son was begging in agony, Dr. Fowler seemed to become upset with me. Dr.Fowler, and his staff were amazing. He is very observant and has a great bed side manner. And his nurses as himself,, didn't treat me like I was contagious. I think without him my Cancer would have been much worse!!

Dr. Fowler and his staff exceeded my expectations. Starting with the initial consultation, through pre-op, surgery and post op visit. Very professional, thorough, competent, and caring. I would highly recommend, especially to those considering breast cosmetic surgery.

I want to take the time to share my experience with Dr Fowler and his staff, especially after having undergone two surgeries in less than a year. I had some complications following the 1st procedure which I was thoroughly educated prior to surgery of all potential risk. Long story short Dr Fowler and staff held my hand through the entire process and he performed a second surgery correcting the problem, which was unrelated to his work. He and his staff are compassionate and have earned my 5 stars

Dr. Fowler and his staff are genuine and caring, I posted a review a few months ago where I felt like I wasn't being listened to, but have since talked with Dr Fowler about my concerns, and he's not like the rest of the doctors that I have dealt with and since realize that I had misjudged him. Anyone has an issue with him just talked to him before posting erroneous information. Great doctor that did a very good job on my abdomen. I have since flagged my last review for removal.

He really is a very talented surgeon. I have nothing but great things to say about him and his office. I would highly recommend him for anyone needing plastic surgery, fillers or botox.

I didn't have any preop teaching. I had to google most of that information. The issue that I'm having with my incision was not explained to me, as I was not informed that this complication could happen. I informed Dr Fowler at each visit about my problem, and he minimized my symptoms each time. He told me that his nurse would be calling me with some solutions for my issue and she never called. Dr Fowler wants to get paid, but he is not doing his job. I've had to retain an attorney.
