Dr Schneider is truly a remarkable doctor n person. He treated me like no other physicians have. He goes above n beyond with all that he does to treat me as a patient. He's my go-to physician.

This man is not fit to practice medicine. Or to do any job that requires dealing with people. On April 8, 2022 I accompanied a woman who has a brain injury to a visit with James Schneider at the Bone & Joint Center’s Catskill office. Neither of us had seen him before. Back in the early 2000s, as part of a job at an agency for the disabled, I assisted many people at doctor visits. In each of those cases, the doctors were considerate and understanding But not Schneider. From the moment he walked into the exam room, before either my patient or I had said a word, he was rude, abrupt and abrasive, demanding to know “What’s the problem here?’ After being momentarily stunned to silence, I remember saying “Well, okay, that’s a good start.” After a brief examination of my patient’s shoulder and a knee, he instructed an aide to take the patient for an X-ray of her shoulder. Three minutes Schneider he came back, saying, in an aggressive tone, “This is not a multi-part body shop. What does she want me to do?” I told him to forget the x-ray; we would leave. I didn’t want my patient subjected to any further abuse. It was horrible experience. And we are not alone; Numerous online reviews going back to 2018 describe bad visits with Schneider. They use words like “..distracted.” “…rude.” “..impatient, unprofessional.” “To keep it simple” one reviewer wrote, “Dr. Schneider was rude, unprofessional, rushed, distracted and condescending.” Another said: “Dr. Schneider entered my room rushed and distracted. He was condescending and insensitive.” And another: “[Dr. Schneider] is unprofessional and rude. He has no regard for his patients and doesn’t listen. He needs lessons on how to be a person, then a doctor. Not a jerk.” But despite these and several other bad reviews, the managers at the Bone & Joint Center dismissed our complaint about Schneider’s conduct out of hand, saying they believed his false claim that I was rude to him and the office staff. Dr. Schneider and his staff are truly AMAZING. My 12 year old son suffered a severe broken leg while skiing. A truly terrible injury was turned around once Dr. Schneider was involved. From the moment we met him, much of our anxiety and fear subsided. It was a long road to recovery, but the care and expertise he provided were invaluable. My son was able to make a full recovery and that is in large part due to him. I am forever grateful to him and his staff. Dr. Schneider and his staff are truly AMAZING. Very attentive, makes a quick connection with you. Best bedside manner I've experienced with any doctor. Dr Schneider is an active listener. His diagnosis was spot on, back on the road to 100%!

Great doctor.

Awesome doctor. Made me feel comfortable from my first visit. I trust he will take good care of me during my surgery.

I was greeted by Remy and then Dr. Schneider came in showed me pictures of my surgery. Went over everything in a Professional manner. Bone and Joint are the best!

I felt an instant rapport with Dr. Schneider. He was caring and kind with a good dose of humor thrown in the mix. He discussed treatment options and listened when I spoke. I would wholeheartedly recommend!

Dr. Schneider is different than most of the doctors I have seen at Bone ‘n Joint as he actually treats me like am a person and not just a patient. He generally feels bad for me and is trying his best to fix the ongoing issues with my knee. He also has a great sense of humor.

It took me over a year of searching to have a surgeon Who could help me repair ACL, and I was lucky enough to find doctor James Schneider outstanding with his Great team. I’m back to work with complete recovery. Doing 4 miles a day feels better than before; I’m so grateful. Thank you so much Dr and Remy!!!

Amazing how efficiently and calmly everybody performed. As a walk-in the wait was less than at most confirmed appointments. The wonderful cast technician readily redid the whole cast to eliminate a problem. One of the best ortho visits I have had in a longtime. Thank you all for a remarkable experience ~ W

Honest and up front, very peasant, his entire staff is amazing, I would never go anywhere else! Always walk away feeling better!

Very good treatment and explanation of what was wrong and treatment options. Prompt and efficient, I arrived about 10 minutes early and was seen right away and was back out in less than 1 hour.

Experience: Dr gave enough time to examine, answered all the questions, I am very satisfied from office procedure and noticed significant relief within few hours. I would highly recommend Dr Schneider. Regards

The staff was very congenial and professional. I had very little wait time. After talking to Dr. Schneider, my fear of not having the best possible outcome for my injured knee was completely alleviated.

My experience with Dr. Schneider was fantastic. He listened, was receptive to my thoughts, and gave me a clear understanding of what was going on with my knee. I highly recommend him and The Bone & Joint Center.

From the check in process, waiting room, examination room, X-ray, Dr. Schneider’s exam and explaining my knee injury, was a 5 star experience. Dr. Schneider gave my knee a cortisone injection and it wasn’t as unpleasant as I had expected (as he did say, he was the best at it ????????????). Everyone I dealt with was wonderful.

My husband had an appointment with Dr. Schneider today and I could not accompany him in to the visit. Dr. Schneider very kindly called me to explain what the MRI showed and put my mind completely at ease. What a compassionate doctor!!!

Simply the best experience I had in a doctor's office from beginning to end. He looked at it, took x-rays in the office, and took care of the pain in the knee and was referred to the Bone and Joint Center by another patient, and glad I went. Other Orthopedic offices need to take notice how they do things here! Excellent!

Doctor Schneider is an outstanding doctor and genuinely concerned with the status of his patients. He is easy to converse with and wants only the best for his patients. If were not for him and his knowledgeable staff, I would never had known that a previous operation I had had, was not done as proper as it should have been. Not enough stars to rate this fine Doctor. He did a Fulkerson Osteotomy on my right knee. He and his staff were very informative on the procedure, and the after-care. I can't recommend him enough for sports injuries.
