Met with Dr. Spak within 5 minutes of my appointment. He reviewed my issue, completed his examination, asked follow up questions to ensure he understood the full extent of my injury , and recommended specific actions to aid in my rehab. I felt I had his attention throughout the visit. Reception pulled up my records immediately, got me into the examination room in short order where my doctor gave me his full focus.

After hearing painful stories from friends regarding their rotator cuff surgery, I decided to switch surgeons at the last minute, to Dr. Spak who was recommended to me. My confidence built more as I read his reviews. After the nerve block wore off, I only used a few of the pain pills because it didn't hurt. One month later and my biggest concern is that I'll forget I'm supposed to baby this arm when it's out of the sling, because it doesn't hurt, to provide a constant reminder. I am convinced that the skill level of this surgeon, is directly responsible for my lack of pain, following the operation. Thank you very much Dr. Spak!

My 15 year experience with Dr. Spak has been wonderful. Waiting time is minimal. Dr. Spak is an excellent communicator and is straightforward in his diagnosis. Dr. Spak's communication and explanation of my physical issues.

They called me in right away-doctor did not leave me waiting-doctor took the time to explain my situation and addressed my options in full!

Acute knee pain, scheduled MRI as x-ray didn't show anything conclusive. Dr. Spak was able to determine quickly follow up testing was needed. Very professional!

Dr. Spak is excellent. I have used him for various orthopedic problems over 20 years. He evaluated my problem, had xrays done on site and talked to me about the results within minutes of taking them. His course of treatment recommendation was great and my problem is resolving already. I was taken into the exam room within a short time of my appointment time and saw Dr. Spak in a timely manner.

I had a great experience with Dr Spak and look forward to working with him to figure out my pain source.

Perfect Doctor and excellent service

Dr. Spak is a wonderful physician. His "bedside manner" makes the visit very enjoyable.

Dr. Spak is great! He is thorough, direct, explains everything clearly and has a plan. I would highly recommend him!!

Dr Spak is the best! I highly recommend him. He takes his time making sure to address all questions, he is down to earth, very knowledgeable and a great doctor.

Dr. Spak was extremely open and explained everything about my knee condition. He answered all questions and our conversation did not end until hr felt I had all the information to make a decision-my own decision- on treatment.

The staff was great getting me into my appointment in a timely manner. Dr. Spak did a great job fixing my issue and sending me on my way to heal. It was a pleasant visit.

Dr. Spak is the nicest doctor to his core. Was so patient and helpful to my daughter and answered all her questions. What a great doctor. Made us feel comfortable and did an excellent job on her cast! I’d refer everyone to him.

Dr Spak is the best orthopedic surgeon . He is friendly , caring and concerned . I felt that my treatment was important to him and I got a wonderful result . I could not be more pleased . Shows no empathy for your pain. He’s condescending and treats you like you’re a hypochondriac who just can’t handle the (excruciating) pain. I’m still in constant, debilitating pain over 2 months after having two simultaneous procedures (still not driving or sleeping through the night), OTC meds are ineffective, and he told me I’d “just have to suck it up”.

Very happy with my overall experience , it was my first time using the practice. Staff was friendly and efficient, everyone identified themselves by name and explained what was happening. Dr. Spak listened, asked appropriate follow up questions, did a thorough physical exam and discussed options.

Dr. Spak thank you and your entire staff for taking such great care of me. From the initial office visit, with the correct diagnosis and treatment plan in place to your staff always ready to answer any question now matter how small. To find a surgeon that is not only brilliant in the operating room but a trusting, very knowledgeable and compassionate person is a rare find. I feel very confident and happy that Dr. Spak performed my meniscus surgery. What amazes me is that everything you told me about the surgery and recovery is exactly what has taken place. I would be remiss not to mention that you exceeded my expectations. I live out of state but when you trust a doctor as much as i trust Dr. Spak distance is a moot point. Thank you again for your genius skill and your kindness.

I made my first visit to Connecticut Orthopaedics today for my injured shoulder. It was a very smooth process, screened for Covid, enter nearly empty waiting room, examined by Dr Spak, plan on MRI and back outside and on to my day. Very impressed with how the people work together. Got a call about the MRI hours later.

Great support before, during and after surgery

Went in as a walk in. Everyone was friendly, caring, knowledgeable and efficient. I was in and out far more quickly than an emergency room and had better treatment

Have been going to OSM for over 10 years. Very good, really love the providers at OSM. Most of the front desk is pleasant but the reception phone service is really lacking I never feel like a valued patient when I call in - with the exception of billing & the admin assistants - they’re great.

I had a great experience overall. I love Dr. Spek. Very nice, caring, and efficient. The rest of the staff was great too. They were all friendly and really helpul. The receptionist at the front desk was also really nice. Lastly, I really like that I was able to get xrays, the results, and the plan for treatment right then and there.

I’m writing a detailed review because this is a surgeon and I would want details when searching for a surgeon. I took my 14 year old daughter to see Dr Spak because her knee cap constantly popped out of place. After continuous therapy didn’t work he performed a MPFL reconstructive surgery. We researched the surgery for months and all the personal videos and journals indicated an extremely painful recovery. Dr Spak must have angel light, laser hands because my daughter did NOT endure that level of painful recovery AT ALL. She’s still healing. Some days are harder than others, but no where near what we saw video after video from random patients around the US. I HIGHLY recommend him! I read the reviews posted stating the doctor was “arrogant” and “he’s great technique-wise but I never recommend him” and “he has terrible bedside manners” and I’m just beside myself. I see him regularly and not once did I detect any arrogance whatsoever. He’s confident. I would assume everyone wants a knowledgeable and confident surgeon to perform surgery on them or their loved ones. His technique is far more important to me than the doctor coddling ME and spending 2 hours with me in an appointment. I wouldn’t be happy waiting two hours for the doctor to “coddle” the patient before us while I wait in the waiting room. If that’s what you’re looking for then it makes sense to go to the super sweet, overly nice surgeon who operates, and then four more surgeries are required to fix the mess he made. “But he’s so NICE!” Me? I’ll take the surgeon with amazing technique who fixed my daughter’s knee with ONE clean surgery, even though he didn’t come see me after that surgery. Instead, he trusted the nurses to do the great job they did post op. The nurses were terrific! I guess to each his/her own. This is my honest experience and opinion. Dr.Spak is a very personable doctor. He makes you feel at ease. He explains all possibilities and offers suggestions for remedies. I would recommend him to anyone who needs such services.

Dr Spak is great at what he does. Had a rotator cuff repair and all went well. I have healed just fine no problems. Great personality and explains everything.

I had a persistent pain and "bubble" in my upper shin just below my knee for years! VERY PAINFUL to the touch. Previous doctors only treated it with cortisone injections. Dr. Spak immediately identified the bulge as pes anserine tendon bursitis that had calcified and hardened. He removed the bursa and calcified material during a short 40 minute surgery and I am now able to hike for miles at a time again without pain or discomfort! Great office and great treartment. After having a tough experience following another doctor’s ACL reconstruction, Dr Spak has given me amazing care for over 15 years. Starting with an ACL reconstruction to repair what was wrong, he’s been a rock through my entire journey. He’s honest, compassionate, and will weigh all risks with transparency. He’s let me know when I need maintainence, Vs when the pain is just because I’m getting old. After 4 surgeries with him, I’ll continue to trust him with my joints until he’s retired. Thx doc

Only in his job for the money- don't be fooled into going to his surgery center- it will cost you. And if you demand different he will do a poor job.

You Dr. as a professional is great at each of my visits and enjoyed my visits with you but if you and the professional team can control the hounds at the OSM front desk it will be much more pleasant. You do record calls. Should listen some times. It will not be Mozart for sure!
