Dr. James D. Swenson

Dr Swenson did my 2nd hip replacement in 2015 and it went very well. He’s a caring, thoughtful, thorough doctor who is very straight forward about diagnosis & coming up with a plan of care. He replaced my mom’s hip last year and it went very well for her. I highly recommend him.

Best Dr I have ever had!! He's thouro and willing to take on ANYTHING that you is put on him. He will go to great lengths for his pts. I have moved to Arizona and even flew back to see him and unfortunately he was deployed at that time so I was referred to Dr Michael J Visit at Evergreen health in Kirkland WA Wich I have seen in the past and both Drs are 100 percent in my opinion and lots of others share my same opinion Best Dr I have ever had!! The Best surgeon I have ever worked for, he cares about his staff and his patients. He says "we do what is right for the patient", and we do. In the 10 years I have worked here there have been very few unhappy patients. I can not say that from another place I have worked. Actually we would see the problems from the other place and Swenson would fix them, he never says that is someone else problem... He fixed it. He may be old school buy by far one of the best ever. Not a great experience brining by daughter to Dr. Swenson. I would not go back to him. My daughter's problems and pain were not just a straight forward break fix. He truly seemed annoyed and to not care much about understanding a path to help her.

He replaced both of my mom's knees, and now one of mine. I'm going back next summer to have the other one done.

Dr. James Swenson is an extremely fine surgeon who is caring about his patients in every way. He is not judgmental: like many other ortho surgeons. He will operate on you to help you regardless of your age, fitness, weight or other factors most ortho surgeons insist on because they are more concerned with their "statistics" than with your care. Dr. Swenson is very careful about infection, and is an experienced trauma surgeon with the Army reserve. He has served in Afghanistan, and and is kind, careful, thoughtful and VERY, VERY competent. He has a wonderful medical staff who are all of his caliber, who make seeing him and visiting his office a wonderful experience. My father was a fine doctor. I am very selective about my doctors, and Dr. Swenson is one of the finest doctors I have ever encountered. He replaced three of my major joints in one year. Dr Swenson fixed my severely damaged ankle back in 1998, did an arthroscopy on my right knee 10 years later, even wrote me a medical waiver letter for when I wanted to join the military. This orthopedic surgeon is the ONLY one I trust to work on my joints

Dr. Swensen was very highly recommended to me from former patients and after one visit, I see why. He knows the body and doesn't promise miracle cures with surgery. He discussed with me other options for treatment and listened and responded to my questions and comments.

His dedication to excellence, along with his hands on continuing education, including his extensive trauma experiences in the mists of actual wartime lifesaving in the Afghanistan war.
