Visiting Alabama for the winter from Michigan. I saw Dr. West for a problem I was having. He suspected a condition right away and performed a biopsy. And he was spot on. I am super grateful to him for identifying this early. He and his entire staff are absolutely wonderful. Thank you!

I am new to the area but not new to Alabama. I was having a problem and stopped by his office to try to get an appointment. Due to a cancellation I was able to get in the same afternoon. Everyone there was extremely nice and professional. Dr. West explained everything perfectly and I was so relieved. I don't think anyone loves going to the doctor and to be able to say it went well is amazing.

My wife went in for her first appointment and the nurse asked her how long she’s been in this country. My wife told her that she’s lived here all her life. The nurse said “oh okay because your English is really good.” Then she proceeded to ask if my wife needed them to pay for her appointment since she’s illegal. My wife said “no I can pay for it. I’m not illegal.” I will not go back to this office just for my wife to be talked to like she doesn’t belong. My fiancé was going to James West and he is the absolute most rude person every time she goes in. Gave her a pelvic exam after waiting for 2 hours then he gets an attitude the whole time, takes weeks for test results and will assume he already knows the problem and will give you medication without knowing what the actual problem so not only has her problem not been fixed, it’s worse and she’s sick definitely finding someone else and then they lie saying we called but it went straight to voice mail when we have never got a call. Most personable, compassionate Dr ever, he has delivered all 3 of my babies and done a wonderful job. I even moved an hour away 14yrs ago and have still kept him and made the drive.

Dr. West took over and delivered me in 96 when my mom had an emergency c section due to an infection in the womb. I was born at 24 weeks. Seeing him over the years while going with my mom, and now being my OBGYN, he treats me like one of his daughters. He is kind, understanding, breaks down the medical terminology and makes sure that you understand what is going on. I can’t wait to use him when I’m pregnant! Dr west is the best in the area. I’ve used him for the last 7 years.. I had to have an emergency c section 11-07-17 and you barely can tell. Even the nurses at the hospital told me he’s the best with c sections..

This dr is so goofy. He didn't address any of my concerns. At 17 weeks, my feet were so swollen. They looked like footballs. He told me it was normal, to prop them up. I told him propping them up didn't help. He said it was fine. I decided to seek another opinion. I went with Dr. Saucier at Bay Area at spring Hill in Mobile. Turns out I was in the pre stages of pre eclampsia. A roommate of mine used Dr west as well. She had the condition as well. He delivered her at 26 weeks. With Dr. Saucier, we made it till 38 weeks. Dr. West Jr West is and amazing doctor!! He takes his time on his patients ,very serious very friendly couldn’t have asking for a better obgyn!! His nurses are amazing and friendly!

You can tell that he takes his time with every single one of his patients and really cares about them. I started having complications towards the end of my pregnancy, I felt like he really cared and wanted to do whatever the best thing was for me and my baby.

The best doctor I have ever had in my 27 years of living. He is purely amazing. Took care of my pregnancy and saved my baby's life during my emergency csection. I could not have found a better doctor. Very supportive, thorough, answers any questions Ive had. Highly recommend.

Dr. West took 45 minutes with me with no hurry and no rushing to help me with a problem. He had a room full of patients (I saw as I walked out). I'm sure he was at least 1/5 hour behind yet showed no hint of rush. Answered all my questions. Volunteered some opinions and was tremendously helpful. You may have a long wait here but I really like him. Though I came with fertility problems he accessed my situation and after evaluating me and my husband's sperm analysis he did decide that I was best referred to a specialist. I only went to three appointments here but I will use him in the future. He just seems very sincere in wanting to help and make sure you understand. I've been going to Dr. West for a couple of years now & he is WONDERFUL! He's by far the best, most caring, efficient, compassionate, nicest doctor I've ever had (& I've had some very good doctors). His staff members are all just as great as well - very lovely ladies (which I believe also says a lot about the man they work for/with). I highly recommend him to anyone, especially for pregnancies. My first pregnancy was great & I had a great (natural/no epidural) delivery to a healthy baby boy who is 8 months old now. My second pregnancy (recently) didn't work out (stopped progressing at 5weeks 4 days) & I was completely heartbroken but Dr. West & his wonderful staff were there for me every step of the way - anything I needed & I feel so blessed to have him as my doctor. Everybody that I've talked to that knows him/is a patient of his just completely adores him (as do I) & multiple ladies have told me that their babies probably wouldn't have made it in delivery had it not been for him. I couldn't have chosen a better doctor to take care of me during my pregnancy and deliver my baby by c-section. He was awesome and made sure he done what had to for my health and my baby. Much appreciated.

He is very professional and thorough with his work. He does everything thing he can to figure out what's going on with u. He done a rare test on me that most Drs never do and found out that's what my problem was! Def recommend him for anyone beeding an ONGYN /GYNO

Doctor West was very professional. I felt comfortable right away with him. He took the time to listen to everything I had to say and answered all of my questions. I felt like he really wanted to get to the root of the problem. I say wanted to because we are still doing test. I am 100% confident he will. I will be using him from now on.

My first time there was great. He is very professional. His office is very clean and smelled wonderful. His staff was very friendly. I loved how much he tried to help me. I ask a lot of questions and he did not mind answering them all. He took his time to make sure everything was done correctly. I found my new doctor. I would recommend him.
