Dr. Kochar is great!

Dr. Kochar is a wonderful doctor! This year I had to go to his office because I had a bad infection and he diagnosed the problem quickly and effectively. He also had blood work ordered because he was concerned my white blood count would be high from the infection. I agreed to the test because it made sense and it was determined if I had to go to the hospital. So far, I don't have to go to the hospital, and I have good medicine to combat this infection. Two years ago, I went for a physical with his partner, Dr. Chawla, a quiet and thorough physician who is on the same quality caliber as Dr. Kochar. He was an amazing doctor and also took care of my food allergies with the correction medication. Four years ago, I was in a life and death situation, that the Stony Brook ER had put me through, and before my husband took me back to the ER again, he took me to Dr. Kochar's office at the Stony Brook Extended Care. Right away Dr. Kochar placed his stethoscope on my stomach and knew the problem, diagnosed me and prescribed me several medications to help me. He saved my life. And Dr. Kochar also saved us a trip of going back to the ER. Dr. Kochar is honest and straight forward. Some people might be put off with that, but nowadays you need a doctor who is dedicated, truthful, and can accesses any medical problems with the correct diagnosis. The office staff is friendly, but they're young, and need to pay attention and be more on top changing and updating files and the running of the office. But I have faith they will get it right. I'm grateful Dr. Kochar is my doctor and I would recommended him and his team of doctors for all your medical needs. Thank you Dr. Kochar for saving my life. Dr. Kochar is a wonderful doctor! I absolutely love Dr. Kochar. He is thorough, knowledgeable and takes time to explain things. He doesn’t pull any punches though, so be prepared. I prefer going to someone like that as I want the honest answer and not to be babied.

He NEVER looks at a chart. Had no clue what tests he had ordered the prior month. Will send you to every physician he knows since he is now affiliated with S.U.NY each and every time he see's you. If you are self pay do not go to this doctor. Your bank account will be drained quickly. He never asks what the problem is. I have had to review this doctor via other patients and found his consistent steering people for EKG's, CAT SCAN'S, Blood work all ludicrous. While valid and necessary for some, it is not supposed to occur each and everytime a healthy patient stops by for a routine cold. He used to be with the H.I.P./ Vantage care group on Hawkins Avenue in Ronkonkoma, but for some reason these last 3 years my conclusions is he is a doctor that can't seem to diagnose a flu symptom without sending a person for a barrage of tests. Oh, as of late, he does NOT prescribe sleep medication such as Ambien, nor does he provide painkillers if you have broken something, have crippling arthritic or back pain. You won't so much as get him to prescribe Ibupropen. Find another doctor, especially if you're self pay. I emphasize, he does not look over a person's chart well at all. I have nothing against him, it's just that I don't believe my insurance company should have to pay for tests that are completely unwarranted, I know they are because I've been in healthcare roughly 25 years. Dr. Kochar is great! He has been my doctor for a few years and I absolutely love him.

This doctor is horribly rude. Years ago he told me my legs having swelling issues was because I was fat, specifically fat and not overweight or obese, meanwhile it ended up being a kidney issue. Now my grandpa went there, who aside from a lung condition for the last 20 years has been perfectly healthy until a recent heart condition, went and told my grandpa "haha you're screwed". He's spent the past week literally thinking he was going to die until his surgery. I'm honestly disgusted by this man

I was with Dr Kochar when he was in the Advantage Care center in Ronkonkoma. He is very thorough and takes the time to listen to you. I have also never had a problem being referred to a specialist through his office. All office staff is very pleasant and professional. With office hours 7 days a week, either he or Dr Chawla will be there to address any medical needs that come up suddenly. Just give them a call and they will set you up with a walk in appt. Dr. Kochar has been my primary care physician for 7 years ... He's tuff and needs to be put into his place at times once you have done that he is expertise with his 34 years of experience, detailed, never has mis-diagnosed me has been head on has a gentlemen sides to him and is a huge teddy bear... Listens to me and any concerns that I may have is extremely open and willing to compromise with you.... I wouldn't trade him in for no other I luv him as my doctor!!!!!

Talked about irrelevant things during my visit and criticized my rx that I was prescribed by another specialist who I have been seeing for years. The worst part-charged my insurance double the amount of my other specialist visits. It was absolutely terrible.

Dr.Kochar is brutally honest yet extremely compassionate. He's been my doctor for 20 years plus years. I absolutely love and appreciate him.

Dr. Kochar is an extremely knowledgeable, compassionate physician. I have always found him to be attentive, careful and interested in my health care. He has been my family doctor for over 10 years.

He just brings you in listens and sends you right out, not a doctor that i would call caring or knowledgable. Would not recommend.
