From consultation to post op. Dr Flannery and his team are some of the most caring and professional people . Dr Flannery was highly recommended to me. I have nothing but great things to say about him. I highly recommend Dr Flannery the man saved my life!

Dr. Flannery and his staff were excellent to work with. I felt comfortable, and they answered all of my questions without making me feel embarrassed. My quality of life has greatly improved since my surgery.

I highly recommend Dr. Flannery for your colorectal surgery needs. While he's clearly very busy, he always communicated with me in about my options and provided advice on addressing a very serious pilonidal cyst. His surgical skills are amazing -- in fact, my mother called him an artist because I have very little scarring.

I had colon surgery as a result of a positive pathology report showing I had colon cancer. Dr. Flannery and APRN Amber Francoeur were outstanding. Dr Flannery went over my options with my wife and I, and made recommendations. We discussed possible issues that may arise and what Dr Flannery would be doing to mitigate those problems. The surgery was successful, and post surgical care provided by Amber helped me to feel that I was being listened to. There was never any pressure that I needed to leave the hospital still unsure of my recovery. I would recommend these professionals to anyone struggling with the fear of colon cancer.

Dr. Flannery deserves "infinity" stars. He is an excellent colorectal surgeon. I was advised by Dr. Flannery for 5 yrs that I should consider a hemorrhoidectomy. I heard about the painful post op so I refused. I finally listened to him. I arrived at So NH Medical Center. I was immediately welcomed by the staff. The intake process was quick & efficient. Staff were caring & knowledgeable. My surgery went well. Dr. Flannery saw me post op & was kind & told me what he had performed. Post op pain? I was expecting horrible pain, but no, just burning sensation for 4 days & then mild discomfort for 7 days. I worked as a hospital executive in Boston for over 35 years. I admit I was hesitant about going to a community doctor and community hospital. But I will tell you, I had the best experience. Dr. Flannery, his staff and So NH Medical Center staff were exceptional in their care of me. Hence, I highly recommend Dr. Flannery as a colorectal surgeon as well as South NH Medical Center.

I give Dr. John Flannery infinity stars. My first scheduled appointment with Dr. Flannery was over 5 years ago for prolapse hemorrhoids. He treated my prolapse hemorrhoids with infrared coagulation. I returned almost every other year to be treated with infrared coagulation because the hemorrhoids would return. Dr. Flannery would tell me at each visit that based on my hemorrhoids I should consider a hemorrhoidectomy. Now I am quite sure everybody has heard and read about all the horror stories about post-hemorrhoidectomy pain. Me included. So, I politely refused. The discomfort from my hemorrhoids was again terrible. I was advised again by Dr. Flannery that I should consider a hemorrhoidectomy. I finally listened to him. I scheduled a surgery date for the following week in case I changed my mind. I arrived at Southern NH Medical Center. I was immediately welcomed by the staff. The intake process was quick and efficient. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and caring. Communication with my husband was excellent. My surgery went well. Dr. Flannery saw me post op and was kind and told me what he had performed. I admit my first three days post op was unpleasant but not to the extent of what I thought I would be experiencing. I was expecting horrible pain, but it never happened. I had a burning sensation for the first three days and then mild discomfort for the next week. I regret not listening to Dr. Flannery earlier. My life would have been as it is now…. No hemorrhoids, no pain. I worked as a hospital executive in Boston for over 35 years. Dr. Flannery performed surgery on me for a large polyp removal that was discovered during a routine colonoscopy. The surgery was flawless and the aftercare has been amazing. I haven't felt this great in a long time. He explained everything to me and answered all my question. I would send my family and friends to him and his staff without hesitation.

Dr Flannery and his staff are excellent. I was in terrible pain from a chronic fissure when I arrived at his office. I had been dealing with the pain for months. He was kind and saw what was going on and provided me with my options. I ended up getting surgery - and he did an amazing job. I was in pain for half year -not even one week post surgery my pain levels were lower - two weeks out I had no pain. None. I am hiking and gardening and leaving my house. It’s night and day post surgery. He is an excellent and skilled surgeon and I highly recommend him.

Performed Surgery for Fissure. Did a wonderful job and I'm back to my normal self 2 weeks later. Cannot Thank this man enough.

I've had on going complications with a fistula relapse, and after agreeing to a colonoscopy that wasn't relevant to the issue, and having inconclusive imaging done. He basically dropped me after getting some billing in. I continue to experience fluid seepage into the perianal region, and now need to find a new doctor to help me address it since Dr. Flannery is only in it for the easy money.

I could not be more impressed or thankful that I met Dr. Flannery and his team when I happened to need their specialization the most. After a misdiagnose from another hospital months before that created an urgent situation for me at an ER, Dr. Flannery quickly diagnosed my problem and told me what needed to happen and why. It was an urgent situation and I will be forever grateful that he was the surgeon that I met with that night. His entire staff has been tremendous during the surgeries and the care in between. I cannot recommend Dr. Flannery enough.

Dr. Flannery explained the procedure clearly to me. He answered questions fully and asked if I had more. The surgery for diverticulitis was completely successful.

I would like to thank Dr. Flannery for quite literally changing my life. Colon resection surgery was something that had never entered my thinking so when it was decided that this is what I needed I was pretty nervous. But Dr. Flannery and his staff put me at ease by patiently answering my questions and concerns. I also felt very comfortable knowing he had been voted Best Doctor for so many years in a row. That was extremely reassuring to me seeing all of those plaques on the wall !!! All of my nervousness was a complete waste of energy. How fortunate I feel to have such a competent surgeon in our area. Thank you Dr. Flannery and your entire staff.

Just a heads up to potential "preventative" colonoscopy patients. Make it clear you are there for preventative and not diagnostic, which I did. However my billing code was changed to diagnostic without me knowing due to questions asked prior to procedure in which I stated several times "not a problem". Also, the Dr. never told me he had concerns about anything we discussed prior to the colonoscopy and did not alert me he was changing it to diagnostic. No polyps were found as well which change your coding. The doctor was fine for procedure and it was uneventful. His staff is fabulous. After receiving the bill I contacted the office and it took over 3 months to get a "final" decision that they would not resubmit the code as preventative. So almost $2,000.00 later when it was supposed to be a preventative colonoscopy covered in full by my insurance, here I am. Hopefully my "lack of knowledge" to just say nothing prior to the procedure will be helpful to someone so they don't go thr

Very professional and knowledgeable. I had Diverticulitis, and had multiple attacks that landed me in the emergency room and was admitted 3 different times. After the 3rd attack, I met Dr. Flannery. At that point we planned out my surgery. Dr. Flannery and his PA-C Beth Neuhardt, answered my numerous questions about prep, the surgery itself, and what to expect after. Dr. Flannery and his staff were very accessible, which made me feel more at ease. I had surgery 10 weeks ago today and everything went as planned. I feel great!! I highly recommend Dr. John Flannery and his staff!

A 6th star needs to be created for Dr. Flannery. He was nothing short of remarkable in every way. Both he and Beth always made me feel like I was their priority. Dr. Flannery thoroughly explained every aspect of my pre through post surgery experience. He eased my anxiety and I always felt that I couldn’t be in better hands. It was a blessing that I found him and couldn’t imagine having a better doctor.

Dr. John Flannery Jr. is a real pro. He explained everything from surgery prep, surgery, aftercare and what to expect during recovery couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Dr Flannery was very professional, experienced and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the procedure, answered my questions and explained what to expect recovery. My surgery was a complete success and I am back to normal activity.

Dr. John V. Flannery, Jr. is the consummate professional. While very focused on my surgical needs, he was very accessible, thoroughly explaining all aspects of my surgery. The best in the state for colon/rectal surgery.

I highly recommend Dr Flannery. I had multiple attacks of Diverticulitis and was hesitant in having an operation. Well, 10 weeks later and I couldn't be happier. He was fantastic. The surgery went exactly as he explained. The more I get to know him the more confident I am in him..very professional and knowledgeable..your in good hands with Dr Flannery.

After suffering with diverticulitis for almost 10 years I decided to consult with a surgeon. I am so thankful for Dr Flannery and his staff. I had surgery July 17,2018 and I have never felt better. I high recommend Dr Flannery.

Very competent manner. Took away any concern related to any lack of explanation or understanding.

In April, I had my first appt with Dr. Flannery. I am a Chron's patient who developed a fistula that required surgery. All points of visit/surgery/aftercare were top notch. I knew what was going on and what to expect at all times. Recuperation went without a hitch and everything turned out well. I know that my condition will probably require future surgeries and I have no problem having Dr Flannery as my surgeon.

Dr. Flannery most likely saved my life when I was diagnosed with diverticulosis last October. Since I had serious intestinal infection, he had to do everything necessary to stop that process and set me up for healing. Having done an excellent surgical job (twice), I am now on my way to being healthier than I have been for a long time. I highly recommend this doctor to anyone with intestinal problems.

Dr. Flannery was recommended by my family doctor and I have to thank my doctor for that. I needed an opoeration (Colectomy) to remove part of the colon. Dr, Flannery explained the entire procedure prior to the operation and the opperation was a success. I highly recommend Dr. Flannery without any reservation. His expertise and knowledge in this area is the best. I might add that post-op visits were timely and that recommendations made for my recovery were easily understood.

Dr. Flannery is competent, confident, caring, and thoroughly listens to the patient. He performed lower colon surgery to remove a cancerous mass in a difficult position and got it all removed such that cancer treatments were not necessary. His staff is outstanding making office visits or phone communications easy. He is an excellent doctor and caring person that I recommend to anyone.

So glad I found Dr Flannery! I needed surgery for Crohn's and his staff got me an appointment two days after I called them as a new patient. Dr Flannery listened to all my concerns and together we developed a plan for my surgery. I had had two surgeries of this type before, which makes a third more complicated. However, Dr Flannery was able to perform my surgery laparoscopically and it only took him less than two hours! I was home four days later and now I'm back to work and feel great!

Dr Flannery took care of every facet of my care -- finding the best way to treat my rectal cancer. He had a group of doctors who meet once a month to discuss unusual surgeries. They were not scheduled in January but he contacted them and they met and planned the best possible way to perform my surgery. He suggested I have help to have my urinary area kept away from the operation on my colon. No locals were available and he had Lahey Clinic's personnel scheduled for my operation. 81 yrs old

After 5 attacks of diverticulitis Dr. Flannery took out a portion of my colon laparoscopically. I went home in 3 days and was back at work in 2 weeks.
