John Burr Schlaerth

We were referred to Dr. John B Schlaerth following my grandmothers ovarian cancer diagnosis. He is so absolutely rude and cold hearted, this man is probably 75-80 years old if I am not mistaken and should not be treating patients. He has no empathy nor patience. He kicked us out because we didn’t take a disc from a CAT SCAN she had done. We had no idea we needed to take it no one told us so. He kept cutting me off saying we should have known and pointed us to the door. We are looking for a better doc unfortunately this will take more time, Time that unfortunately my grandma might not have.????

Not a good Dr. The office smelled like Mildew, that was for Patient files was on the floor in piles very unacceptable for a business that’s supposed to be caring for people who have cancer and for a doctors office it was disgusting, The doctor didn’t even look at my CT scans nor did he do a proper exam or ask for any labs to be done or any test to be done to see what was going on with me he didn’t look at my paperwork from my previous doctor to see what was the outcome of my reasoning for being there yet he wants to diagnose me to stage three cervical cancer and say that I’m only got a year to live

I was referred to Dr. Schlaerth when an mri said It looked like cancer on my ovaries. I was told this Dr. was one of the top surgeons in the country. After being treated by him I believe this to be true. What was supposed to be an easy surgery ended up with several areas of cancer that needed to be removed. I truly believe John Schlaerth saved my life. I am cancer free now. I am so thankful for Dr schlaerth being so thorough. He calls me himself and makes sure he speaks to me himself. He’s the best of the best. I cannot recommend him more.

I have been so blessed these last 5 years to have Dr Schlaerth as my Doctor, I have no doubt he saved my life. He is highly regarded by my referring physician. I was told by several of the hospital staff, how fortunate I was to have him as my surgeon. I have great respect for his abilities, and appreciate his friendly, caring way.

Dr John Schlaerth is one of the top 50 Oncologists in the Country. He performed my Surgery in 2015 and not only am I now Cancer free but the likelihood of recurrence is nil, per genetic testing. I chose not to have Chemo or Radiation, that’s how confident I was and he is in his abilities (you may choose or he recommend differently). I was in the hospital within 2 weeks of Dr Schlaerth’s diagnosis and urgency to proceed so that the Cancer was not allowed to spread. I would recommend him in a heartbeat and Thankfully, I’m still here with that heartbeat because of him! His son the Anesthesiologist however, What a jerk! Top notch Dr., They don't make them like this anymore. Detailed and an extremely talented surgeon. Too bad hospitals are in poor staffing condition but that is no fault of the hard working people who work there. This Doctor will not miss anything, he personally checks the paperwork and he will find the errors.

Beware! Very bad negative experience in 2016. My original review was removed sadly. Newly diagnosed and uncaring arrogant doctor. I would not want anyone else to experience what I did.

Dr Schlarerth is a Great doctor. The girls that work for him are wonderful , Louise and Davida. I would highly recommend Dr. Schlarerth. I feel very blessed to have him as my doctor ????

I saw Dr Schlaerth as a second opinion for Ovarian cancer surgery October 2016. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone! During my exam he raised his voice to me for information and wanted me to answer questions while undressed and waiting. He invited in training med students for my very private and emotional exam. This was the most devastating doctor appointment I have had. I normally do not post reviews but wanted to save others from a very bad experience.

I have felt so lucky to have Dr. Schlaerth providing my care! He takes the time to explain each situation fully, and to make sure I am aware of and understand all of my options. He is kind and professional, and I never feel like he's taking down to me. His care is excellent, and his concern for the well-being of his patients is clear at all times. I highly recommend Dr. Schlaerth!
