We couldn’t wish for a better doctor to handle my father’s emergency open heart bypass surgery. Knowledgeable, pleasant, positive, encouraging doctor with a personal approach.

Dr. Fong is both a skilled surgeon and a kind & caring man. He took the time to explain the procedure to my husband & I and answered all our questions.

I was operated on by Dr Fong . He possess not only great surgical skills, but has the ability to clearly communicate what he would do during my triple by- pass surgery. He showed great compassion to me and wife. My cardiologist made sure that he would operate on me.

Dr Fong was highly recommended and he did not disappoint. I had by-pass surgery and it went very smoothly. I found Dr Fong to be very caring and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and was willing to spend as much time with me as necessary.

Chest pains lead me to call 911 and ended up in the local hospital. They found 3 blockages and had to transfer me to another hospital. I asked to go to SMH and I'm so glad I did. There I met Doctor Fong we talked about my options and decided on Bypass Surgery. While they were operating they discovered 3 more blockages for a total of 6. Before during and after the operation I can not say enough good things about Doctor Fong and his entire team. They made me and my family as at ease as we could be under the circumstances. Today was 3 weeks and 3 days after the operation and I was released by Doctor Fong. I feel great I still have a long way to go as far as endurance goes but I'm well on my way. I DON'T believe I could have gotten better results anywhere. If you are looking for a Heart Surgeon I don't think you can do better than Doctor Fong and his entire team. And also SMH

Thoroughly dedicated to your individual case and responsive to all questions. Only scheduled surgery when I was in my optimum level of readiness for the procedure. This is a top shelf practitioner. I would recommend without hesitation to anyone needing open heart surgery.

Dr. Fong is your best option for cardiovascular surgery. His caring and compassionate manner is succeeded only by his skill and competence. He takes the time to listen to any concerns and genuinely cares about his patients. I truly believe that we were blessed to be able to have him as our doctor and surgeon. On February 24, 2021, I was admitted to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for blockages in my arteries. Dr. Fong was the surgeon. Dr. Fong and his team not only performed a perfect repair on my heart (proof being - I am writing this) but he took time to explain what had been done during the surgery. He cares. I cannot imagine a more skilled cardiac surgeon. While caring for my surgical emergency, Dr. Fong went well beyond expectations in diagnosing and surgically repairing my heart. I found his willingness to collaborate with the entire team of physicians exemplary, and that's so important, but mostly I am thankful for his surgical skill. And as a physician myself, I consider myself a good judge. Plus, he's a wonderful communicator and person.

On 10/16/2020 Dr. Fong performed a Quadruple bypass on me with total confidence and skill I've not experienced elsewhere. His patience and ability to communicate all the circumstances to us was a total blessing. Everything went as explained and the healing began immediately. Today, 11/26/2020 is truly a day of Thanksgiving for Dr. Jonathan Fong and his most attentive and caring staff. On October 6th 2020 i had a triple bypass performed by Dr Fong. He was very kind and confident in all aspects of my surgery before and after. His skills are second to none, it's been 20 days since my surgery and i'm all ready basically pain free and cleared to return to work. I can't thank him enough for my new chance at life. I was truly blessed to have him as my surgeon. If anyone reading this is in need of care i urge you to have a consultation with him and his staff, you won't be in better hands. God Bless

Dr. Fong did an emergency heart by-pas operation for me with a hour or so notice. Before he started he told me that 3 veins would be required but there could easy be more. 6 were required and he did an excellent job. I felt blessed that I was able to get him with such short notice. He and his OR team saved my life!

In April of 2019 I was assigned Dr Fong for bypass and AVR surgery. There is good reason Dr. Fong has such great reviews. I trust Dr Fong as he exhibits strong traits of honor, integrity, and compassion. If I had to go through the very painful experience again, I would feel that another surgeon would fail to provide the total package of medical treatment that I received from Dr Fong. It has been six monhs since undergoing surgery by Dr Fong. The experience was the most professional and rewarding experiences I have ever had. Dr Fong is a very through, understanding physician and most of all caring. After six bypasses I was up walking the next day, home in four and driving in three weeks. After cardiac rehab at SMH I feel great, am returning to teaching and enjoying life. My highest compliments and appreciation to Dr Fong.

If you are reading these reviews, you are probably searching for a cardio surgeon. Now, please, stop your effort - you've found the best. Simply cannot go better. Not enough words to express my level of gratitude for everything Dr. Fong did for me on the very short notice - quintuple bypass surgery. His demeanor and bed-side manner is calm, positive, thorough, attentive, flexible, and personal. The Doctor likes to say that Lord is our ultimate surgeon and Doctor just has a hands that make an incision. Maybe he is right.. But Lord choose Dr. Fong' hands for a reason! Without any hesitation I recommend Dr. Fong to anyone in need of cardiac surgery.

Had 7 bypasses. Dr Fong is truly a gentleman and a great surgeons. Highly recommend to anybody that needs the heart repaired.

Dr. Fong has to be the best Cardiac Surgeon on Sarasota! My 85yr old father just had a 5 bypass and heart valve repair. Dr. Fong was fantastic! His bedside manners are incredible and follow up impeccable. I highly recommend him. I only hope if I have heart problems, he' the doctor on call in an emergency.

Dr Fong is absolutely the very best surgeon in the area. My husband came to him literally dying, turned down by several other surgeons who said nothing could be done for him. DR. Fong took on this very risky and complex case and saved my husband's life. He is a humble man, listens well, and has skills and the confidence to use them. He is honest and up front and makes no grandiose promises. He will give you the unadulterated truth. When all seemed lost, Dr Fong saved my husband's life.

Two weeks ago Dr. Fong performed open heart surgery on me to replace my aortic valve and repair my mitral valve. He is an excellent communicator and I fully understood my options and the surgery that we decided on. His manner is friendly and warm. The results have been excellent and I am on the way to recovery and a healthy heart going forward. I would highly recommend Dr. Fong for Cardiac Surgery. I especially liked his caring manner and his frankness in discussing options with me.

Dr. Fong saved my mother's life! He performed a double bypass on her after she was admitted for a broken hip and had a heart attack. He was so informative and efficient. After several ablations and shock treatments Dr. Fong thought it best to do the Maze procedure for my afib. Dr. Fong far exceeded my expectations during the entire event. He met with us several times prior to surgery, explained the procedure in depth step by step and we were very impressed with his expertise, skill and professionalism.
