Dr. MEREDITH is not just a gifted surgeon, he is a great surgeon. What makes him great is the kindness, empathy and concern he shares with his patients. My 83 year old father was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in the ER. Dr. Meredith was more interested in pushing my father towards a complicated Clinical Trial that he was running vs. what was best for my father. He had no bedside manner and did unnecessary procedures needed for the Clinical Trial, not for my father. We moved him to Moffitt, they were able to do a procedure that Sarasota failed doing. If you have a. cancer diagnosis, stay away from Sarasota Hospital and Dr. Meredith - head to Moffitt.

I met Dr Meredith and his staff today to find out what my treatment options were concerning my liver cancer. I felt very comfortable with him. He took the time to talk to me, explain what was going on so that I could understand, he listened to what I had to say and he answered my questions. He is very knowledgeable, professional and has compassion. He really cares about his patients. I felt a sense of relief when leaving there because I know I am going to be cared for as if I am family. The staff was awesome, very patient and kind. They exceeded my expectations today and I am confident that I am now in the right place for my treatment. .

Dr Meredith is a wonderful Dr. He takes time to listen to his patient, he makes sure you fully understand the procedure and the follow up was excellent as well. Is office staff is very friendly & helpful. I believe he saved my Sister’s life and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of oncology surgery.

This Doctor is the best in the country ask other oncologist. Back in 2012 he did life saving surgery on my husband. My husband is a live today, yes he has reflux, but he is a live.

I first met Ken Meredith MD 4 years ago, I had just been diagnosed with Oesophageal Cancer. An uncommon Cancer, with an extremely low Survival rate. This day ultimately changed my life. Without Ken Meredith, I have no doubt that I would be within a few months Dead. Ken Meredith Saved My Life!! The next procedure, was to surgically remove my Oesophagus, to cease the spread of my Cancer. I was informed by my then Oncologist, that Ken Meredith, had carried out more of this procedure, than any other MD in the Country. Being rather cynical, I doubted that, especially since he was located in Sarasota, just a few miles from my home. Needless to say I did extensive research, which showed he was in fact, the most prolific Surgeon for this operation. The operation was a total success, within 2 days I was on a “Zoom” conference call, from my hospital room, with the Cancer recovery group I attend. Truly amazing. Everything, he’s amazing. My Whipple was performed during his residency at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.

On October 10, 2014 Dr. Meredith performed a pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple) on me at the Univ. of Wisconsin Hospital, Surgery Clinic, Madison, WI. Going in, I was told I was stage 1 with a well-differentiated tumor. When he opened me up, I was stage 3 and the tumor had engulfed two major veins (the inferior vena cava and the portal). He spent 8 1/2 hours resecting the tumor and the margins removing several lymph nodes, four of which were malignant. I know this because the chief surgical resident, who was assisting, was so impressed with Dr. Meredith he made a trip to my hospital room two days to tell me that any other surgeon would have found my tumor, closed me up and called the chaplain. I'm writing this on October 11, 2020. Six years and one day cancer free. The man is gifted. He saved my life.

Dr. Meredith is an excellent physician. I feel that he handled my medical situation as well as I could have possibly hoped for.

Dr. Meredith did an excellent job performing my esophagectomy, which turned out to be more complex than usual. He was great before and after surgery with my wife and l. And my recovery has been right on schedule.

Dr. Stephen Kucera referred me to Dr. Meredith. Those two wonderful doctors saved ky life. Dr. Meredith operated on me and did a Whipple Procedure, a very complicated surgery. That was in 2016, almost 3 years ago. I am doing just fine and I will be seeing him for a regularly scheduled followup visit next week. I highly recommend this surgeon! Dr. Meredith and his staff are extremely knowledgeable, polite, and efficient. No one wants to see a surgeon nor face the “what if’s” be he gave me the reassurance needed to go forward with confidence knowing I’m in the best care possible. Thank you!

When Dr. Meredith left Moffitt I thought he had gone way up north somewhere. Today, I found out that he is still in S.W. Florida and that discovery made me so happy!! 10 years ago I had stage 4 rectal cancer and Dr. Meredith saved my life. He performed an extremely complicated 6 hour surgery and because of his incredible surgical talent, I not only recovered but was saved from wearing a colostomy bag for the rest of my life, which was the only option other surgeons offered before I met Dr. Meredith. The surgery was complicated because of massive adhesions he had to work his way through. For the last 3 years I have been living with tumors in my lungs which are remaining stable and I always wished Dr. Meredith was still here in case I need surgery some time in the future. Dr. Meredith is top in his field for a very good reason.... He takes his patients and their surgical procedures very seriously. He and his group, explain the situation, why surgery; offering the options, pros & cons to allow for an informed, educated and confident decision process. The office staff are exceptional and work extremely well. They are knowledgeable, very patient and empathize with their patients. I have had too many surgeries, this group of MD's are definitely top tier.

In all my years I have never experienced a Doctor and staff that is so amazing Dr Meredith has consistently shown such care, And has been there every step of the way for us. Dr. Meredith doesn't listen. He does what he wants without regard to patient or family wishes. Having him as our doctor was one of the worst experiences in the lives of everyone in our family. I would never recommend him.

Dr Meredith is a wonderful human being and an incredibly gifted surgeon. He is open to communication before and after surgery. My husband suffered from severe reflux post surgery. Dr Meredith consoluted with Dr Kucera (GI) for team approach to the complications. I highly recommend this exceptional doctor!

My husband was one of Dr. Meredith’s first patient since he came to SMH. He spent so much time with us explaining what to expect. He had his esophagogectomy Feb 2015 and has done remarkably well since. Michelle has always been delightful to deal with when setting up appointments. We think the world of Dr. Meredith. We have done a video with him and recently did a phone interview telling them our experience, trying to give hope to other patients that there’s good life after this surgery.

Dr. Meredith was very well versed in his specialty and set our family at ease during our difficult time.

Dr. Meredith is very gifted at what he does. Husband bedside manner is wonderful. My mother and I left his office feeling in good hands. Then his office staff came into the picture. They are horrible. Don't return calls, rude, cancel appointments without telling you, act annoyed when you call with questions, make you prove appointments with other providers actually happened. Very disappointing to see how acancee patient is treated by these people.
