Dr. Jonell Byers

Have been seeing Dr Byers since 2018. She is friendly and professional. She has in that time discovered 3 major health concerns that other doctors have missed and only one was fully a skin issue. I have not have the pleasure to visit Dr Byers, but I really hope her receptionist is no longer there. Reading all this reviews made me change my mind. No reason why Dr would loose patients due to a bad person representing her. If someone knows if the receptionist is no longer there and service has gotten better then let me know so I can call and make an appointment. Receptionist was incredibly rude and threw my chart at the nurse seemingly the most unprofessional front office I’ve seen in my life. No one deserves that kind of treatment in a healthcare facility private or not private. Even though the reviews said to go somewhere else, I called Dr. Byers office on Thursday morning, Oct. 23 and asked about getting in to see the doctor. I was told by the extremely cold and cranky receptionist that they were scheduling for next year. I then asked if she could please put me on a cancellation list and the nurse said ok. I waited a moment and asked if she would like my phone number so she could get in touch with me and again she just said ok. Obviously, she wasn’t about to call and I told her so. She had no rebuttal so I just hung up. Dr. Byers might be good at what she does but she needs help that has the ability to talk to people in a decent manner. Although the doctor is very nice and respectful, the same can not be said about the receptionist. She is rude, she is cranky, and she answers your questions in a way that makes you feel dumb. Considering switching dermatologist for that sole reason.

It took me 4 months to get in to Dr. Byers. It was worth the wait. She is a busy Doctor. She took care of my issues in a very professional manner . A very pleasant Doctor. I’ll be back.

Staff is beyond rude. When Dr was informed by letter, she basically replied staff was just doing their job. Being rude to your patients is not acceptable. Please find another dermatologist to avoid this office.

Attempted to use this dermatologist even after hearing/reading awful reviews. The reviews are right - find another doctor/office staff who values your time and respects your privacy. However, if you need to raise your blood pressure, this is the place. Update!! Dr Byers sent me - and my mother - a letter (after I emailed her the day after our visit) to let me know she would be unavailable for service due to the things I’d written about her practice via CERTIFIED LETTER - feels like she’s done this once or twice (or countless times) before. The receptionist maybe rude but the Doctor is very caring and has accurately diagnosed my dad with Melanoma and my self with skin cancer. She was very caring and went out of her way to get my dad the help he needed. The plastic surgeon in Wichita thought Dr Byers had shaved the melanoma off his face . Dr. Byers did such an excellent job removing the cancer you could not see scaring in the surgery area . Horrible people! I called the front desk to make an appointment and the lady on the phone was VERY rude and kept talking with a nasty tone. Later, my pharmacy had to call with a question on my prescription. We had to wait a LONG time for a response. When they finally called my pharmacy back they talked to Jonell herself and she too was VERY RUDE to my pharmacist! I listened to the conversation at the drop off window and my pharmacist was never once nasty to the doctor. I will never give my money to these disrespectful people ever again! Horrible people! As a patient and as a referring physician, I find that Dr. Byers is unexcelled in providing patients with the best of care in dermatology. She provides her patients with the care and expertise that is rarely found in today's medical environment. In our small community, we are very fortunate to have such a wonderful physician who can provide such high quality care for ourselves and our family members. Thank you, Dr. Byers!
