Dr. Jose Almeida and his wife Elizabeth who is the MA there are Kunia urgent care are the most rude and unprofessional medical professionals I have ever met! I went to Urgent Care Kunia BEFORE they opened at 8:30am, I arrived around 8:15am, waited with my son outside their door to be sure we'd be the first patients to be seen. The receptionist gets there around 8:25am and advised me and my son to come in and check in etc. She explained to me that the doctor does not get in until 9:30am but will do my son's check in and triage process. I advise her that 9:30 is a long wait and maybe I'll just cancel, she asks what I needed to be seen for, I explained that my son has a swollen lip. She suggested I see the doctor just in case and that I don't have to wait in there for an hour and advised I can leave the office for now, wait outside or go eat breakfast near by and they'll call me once the doctor is here and ready and assured me that my son would be the first patient to be seen by the doctor since we were the first in line. So I left just around the area to feed my son, I get a call at 9:17am from the receptionist that the doctor is ready and I can come back. I get back there in about two minutes, seated immediately in the exam room. Waited for about 25 minutes, I hear a lot of noises like other people were there too in their exam rooms so I get up and asked Elizabeth, how long more do I need to wait because I was told to come back and the doctor is ready but I'm here waiting for 25 minutes so far. Elizabeth instantly responded with a harsh and unprofessional manner and said "I don't know, the doctor is seeing other patients so you just have to wait your turn" I got upset of course at this point I am getting impatient because why call me back and tell me the doctor is ready for me just to make me wait another 25 mins! So I explained to Elizabeth why I am getting upset that I was the first in line and waited since 8:20am and told to come back because the doctor is ready but now I am STILL waiting! Elizabeth never apologized she kept being rude and demanded I not be upset at her, the receptionist had to apologize to me and said it was a miscommunication, doctor will be right out. I told them if the doctor is not here within 5 minutes then I am leaving, Elizabeth again rudely said "OK then GO!" she was not sincere or sympathetic at all and made me feel like it was my fault. I went back in the room, Dr. Jose Almeida FINALLY shows up at 9:55am and right off the back just says "so what's the problem with your son?" Like he did not even care that I was just voicing my concerns to his staff, I said "you know we've been waiting here almost 2 hours now and I'm upset about this service." Dr. Jose responds with a very rude and unprofessional manner "You weren't here when I came in so I went to my next patient so what do you want me to do?" I said "you need to train your staff or communicate better because I was promised to be seen first but I ended up having to wait while you see other patients." He raised his voice at me and said "Don't get upset with me, I came here and you weren't here so I left!" He made me feel it was my fault and he just turns to my son to shine his flash light at the infected area and just said "it's just an allergic reaction, give him benedryl" and tries to walk away. I stop him and said "excuse me, that's all? you're not even going to check him? just like that? nothing is wrong?" You barely even looked at him!" He again said "just give him benedryl it should go away it's an allergic reaction" while he's walking away and slams his door, I said I need a doctors note. He ignores me so I went back out and stood in front of Elizabeth, she says rudely while giving me rude facial expressions "what do you want!?" I said excuse me, I need a doctors note! She said "well what did doctor say?" I said "he walked out and slammed the door on me so I don't know, you ask him" she says "you don't have to talk to me like that" I said "y
I understand that working at an Urgent Care clinic that there will be many who want an "in and out" experience, but regardless of preferences there should not - under any circumstances, be a lack of attention to detail. This is especially the case for any health providers. Upon entering the room the doctor made a blatant claim that my son's condition was "improving," to which I politely disagreed and explained to him that that was the reason for our trip to the clinic (over the course of 3 days his headaches were worsening) on top of my son's physician being booked a month out. He then asks my son if he just wants something stronger and proceeds to write up a medical prescription. Then I inquire about his high blood pressure to which his response was "what is his bp? - Hold on i'll be right back *leaves room*" My son's bp was 131/89 at home and 140/81 at the clinic - when the vitals were taken by the Nurse. This shows me that he didn't bother reviewing my son's vitals results prior to seeing us. He later returns and asks "Well what do you want? Do you want me to prescribe blood pressure medication?" I decline and then he proceeds to tell me "this is normal," and then I again disagreed and told him I will follow up with my son's general physician at a later time. This individual was very unprofessional, had a lack of attention to detail, and was extremely rude.
