Joseph Altman is a kind, gentle-hearted man who only wants the best for people. His methods, the primary of which is “tapping,” are straightforward and obtain instant results. “Tapping” is part of the larger school of EFT (emotional freedom technique) treatments. Essentially, one taps on one’s pressure points (mostly on the head) whilst engaging difficult thoughts that prevent one from flowing, or, living a full life. Although Mr. Altman's degree is listed as a Master's (M.Ed), he calls himself a Psychologist. That title is typically reserved for individuals with a doctoral degree (i.e., a Ph.D or Psy.D). Furthermore, Mr. Altman claims to use a "new" and special technique in therapy, energy field therapy, which is based partly on acupuncture (which has been demonstrated to have a positive effect on patients only as a placebo, and otherwise has no scientific basis as an effective method of treatment).
