I’ve come here on and off over the years and I recently had blood work done and I had to call back to see if they got them & the woman who answered the phone said they got them Friday and it was now Monday at 1pm at my time of calling and if I didn’t call they surely wouldn’t have. The following day at 4pm and I had a scheduled phone app to get my results and I called to be on top of it and they receptionist just says I’ll have to wait longer til they call me…… what’s going on that I have to wait longer for my results…… high blood pressure and anxiety are great to keep me company while I continue to wait….. I as a patient should feel like I’m valued and my concerns are valid and not like I have to haggle to get my results back. A little Urgency would be nice. Still waiting to be called and it’s now 30 mins past my app time. I came here a couple weeks ago for a pre employment drug test. According to my employer they didn’t get the results back. I called this office and after 25 minutes in the phone they couldn’t find me in their system as if I never even went there.

I used to enjoy going here, until I phrased my symptoms wrong and he got impatient and rude with me. I come to a Dr because I need help, not an attitude.

I have an elderly mother who has dementia and Alzheimer’s. I recently went into her room to find a stack of bills from Dr. Barbara‘s office for a $25 co-pay. Among these bills was also a noticed that I’ve been sent to collections for this $25 owed in April. Unfortunately my mother thought that the bills were hers since she also sees Dr. Barbara‘s office. At any rate she didn’t pay it. It goes without saying that I was not happy to find that my mom had been stashing these. I go to this doctors office because it’s a family practice and I wanted a more personal touch. It’s upsetting to know that this office would send anyone to collections for $25 especially during Covid. Most Places are being more lenient during this time. I’ve been going to the doctors office for many years and have never been late on a payment. In fact most of my copayments if not all are paid during my visit so I’m not even sure how I accrued a $25 billed co-pay. When all is said and done I guess I just expected a little bit more of customer service. A phone call would’ve got them my card number immediately and the payment would’ve been made. Instead I’m sure they expanded much more man hours and paperwork and time to send me to collections. I have been to Docter Joseph Barbaras for years and I wouldnt say anything bad about his office. Its been the best since I was a child. And I cant seem to leave it. I travel to Gilroy from San Jose to be seen by docter Barbara. Its a great family-orientated office I love them. I give them 5 stars . ????

One doctor is really good, i believe is barbara. There's another one i dont feel to good about. Asked for some bandage gauze and he said no, also cant get anything better prescibed then tramadol for the pain, which is fully synthetic and has a bunch of scary side effects

My husband saw Dr Joseph Barbara, was the first Dr that he felt comfortable & happy with!

My family of four were in need of a new doctor since moving to Hollister. After reading the great reviews on Yelp about this practice I decided to give them a call when my boys needed a physical to go to summer camp. I found the office staff and doctor (Dr Barbara senior) be be very professional and kind. The facility was clean and not dated. It was a very refreshing experience for us. I guess this is your new modern age doctor... he likes to prescribe hippie medication which means nothing at all. I have severe back pain as well as anti anxiety medication that I have been taking for months prescribed by my other doctor. I moved to gilroy and was looking for a new primary care physician. This guy didnt even seem to care about his paitiant pain, much less treating it. His advice was to stretch to cure the pain. What a joke... if your looking for modern age medical care or any type of pain medication avoid this place like the plague. This is the worst doctor I have ever seen in my life. The reason I gave him one star was because he issued a refund for my vist. FOLLOW UP: Thank you Dr for letting the internet know that I was taking opioad medication for my pain. I'm pretty sure that should be confidential information you shared with the internet. Would you mind so kindly to take your outrageous reply down? Dr. Barbara made me feel he was truly concerned about my mother in law health after losing my father in law. I could tell he was reaching out to her to make sure her health needs were being met

Finding a good doctor is hard, finding a staff that (as a whole) that is as accommodating as Drs. Barbaras is near impossible. This practice works like a well-oiled machine and it is not a coincidence. Drs. Barabaras' professionalism and bedside manners are unparalleled in the known industry. Before ending up at this practice (by chance), I had switched 3 primary care doctors in 2 years; I will never have to look for another provider as long as we live within driving distance. From the first impression to the last, this operation is impeccable. My family and I have been in a few relatively desperate health-related conundrums and every single time this practice has come above and beyond expectations. I like many businesses, I often review them, I have seldom felt the best service has deserved more than four stars (maybe 4.5) but this office deserves a 5-star-PLUS. We called at 8:00 on a Thursday for a super fast physical exam for sports prior to our daughters tryouts at a Gilroy high school. They gave us an appt for 9:00 am same day. We finish by 9:45, and she was able to perform tryouts by 10:00 am. Dr. Joseph Barbara did a great a job at asking the important medical questions, and did a great physical exam. He was respectful towards everyone, and seemed interested in what my daughter had to said, and we were happy with the outcome. His services had a very reasonable, inexpensive price. We are overall very pleased with his service. The front office could sound a little more friendly at the phone and in person though, but they were respectful all the times. My son needed a new primary physician and Dr Barbara was one of the only ones in Gilroy taking new patients and he was walking distance from my house . Luckily my son really liked him. Just moved back to the area from Las Vegas. A desert for quality of care and customer service in the majority of medical services. What a relief to be back in the care of Dr Barbara and his staff. Questions answered, immediate appointment the following morning when calling at 4pm, follow up completed immediately, phone calls answered, and an online portal that rocks (a question answered within 2 hours). 5 Star service without the extra expense of some ridiculous bespoke medical office. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Barbara. He is kind, caring and thorough. He takes the time to answer your questions and he always follows up on everything. His office staff are helpful and kind as well. I am grateful to have found such a great internal medicine physician.

Very welcoming staff. I love the upgrade to the office. Sometimes the wait can stretch but it”s well worth the wait. I love the medical attention I receive from the PA. Very informative and really listens to my concerns. I feel comfortable leaving knowing I’m in good hands.

I have been a patient here for over 10 yrs. The staff are very efficient, proffessional and compassionate. Dr. John is very warm, welcoming and thorough. The receptionist, Nicole has always been great at her job. All have been very helpful trough the years.
