Dr. Joseph A Buzogany

We never even saw the doctor. We waited over a month for an appointment for my son after discharge from an RTF for medication management. After filling out all of the paperwork and initial intake, we were informed by staff in the public waiting area in front of others a half hour after his appointment time that the doctor had "just reviewed his case" (just now reviewing his case after having an appointment set for over a month!?) and felt he needed a higher level of care than he could provide and he wasn't willing to see him. Hindsight is 20/20, where with the other reviews and this experience this looks like a blessing in disguise. However I now have a child with less than two weeks of meds and no doctor to fill them. So we are scrambling to find a provider last minute. I was so stunned and shocked at the lack of professionalism at how this entire situation was handled.

Believe all these negative reviews. We questioned an hour long wait in the waiting room and he FREAKED out on us. I told him he was a joke and we walked out. Three days later got a certified letter stating I threatened him and used foul language and was forbidden in his office again. Like we would ever come back after that anyway lmao

Unfortunately, my son when to see Dr. Buzogany. He was struggling with concentration issues and symptoms of depression. He was dismissed by Dr. Buzogany and moved on to another provider where he's receiving better care.

Can someone tell me with all of these awful reviews why this guy still has a job? His license should be revoked. The typical response to a Google review is to call the patient care advocate. I have 2 experiences. Myself and my husband. For myself, I was caring for both my elderly father and my elderly father-in-law. I was depressed, crying all the time, and my anxiety was through the roof. I got 2 minutes into why I was feeling this way when he cut me off and said he didn't have time to listen, he only had 20min, and what was it I wanted from him. I never felt so stupid in my life. I should have got up and walked out but I didn't. He asked me about 5 to 10 questions and proceeded to give me a wrong diagnosis. It didn't fit with the stress I was under which was why I was feeling like I was. He prescribed me the same medicine as my husband and it made me aggressive and completely unlike myself. I stopped it and haven't gone back. My husband has been going to him. I always noticed, though, he had the symptoms of adhd and had him tell the dr what I thought. The dr completely dismissed it and told him he didn't have it. He never asked why I thought this or what was I noticing.

He's a psychiatrist and it's plain as day to tell. I was crying in front of him explaining my situation and he showed no sympathy; I felt like I was an inconvenience. Complete disregard for the situation I was in, just said "well obviously that's mania" and handed me a diagnosis & a prescription. Can't believe this person actually gets paid to provide "care" when the patient doesn't come first as soon as you step into his extravagant office. Find another psychiatrist or opt for telehealth.

It would take a novel for me to explain how horribly I was treated by this so called “doctor”. Complete disregard for human life, all he cares for is the paycheck that he gets at the end of the week. Appalling behavior. His minion team, I mean staff, is just as cruel.

I had a diagnosis from a different provider and he tossed it aside. Said that ADHD is a childhood disease (I am an adult who has just been diagnosed after many years of suspicion) and that it's impossible for any former gifted kid to have ADHD. Intake was 20 mins and he asked the typical surface level questions, but kept the door open even when I asked for it to be closed. Talked about right-brain/left-brain stuff even though that's been debunked. Also stereotyped ADHD children in multiple ways and did not take me seriously when I brought up my struggles. Avoid avoid avoid this man.

Please everyone who this man treated dreadful contact IRMC and ask to speak to their patient advocate. Tell her it is time to ask for his resignation.

It pains me to have to put one star. As someone who lost their father to suicide when I was 19 years old....please never leave this man's office hopeless and take your life. He's not worth it.

The worst doctor I have ever seen. Refused to even try different medication for my husband because he said that “changing his medication would be like (he) was saying that the medication had been wrong all of these years and I’m never wrong”. He then lied to our faces and said that my husbands memory test showed no problems. When we had another Dr request the report and read it to us, it showed significant major problems. He’s a terrible human being. If you go there, expect to spend the bulk of the time listening to him tell you about how much he hates his ex wife, his diet, and his motorcycle! Please take all the negative reviews seriously...he is very very very unprofessional...diagnosis without a proper evaluation...no psych eval nothing ...met with him and completed a half hour intake and he uses that to make a diagnosis... he is arrogant and doesn't like to be questioned... ..very insensitive ...based on my experience with him; he needs to be discharged/ fired because he is not able to work with mental health patients in a caring supportive approach ...it took me a very long to convince myself to work with a mental health office so it felt good to take that step but he has ruined me ...it will be difficult to trust another and I was not being compliant wit my medication and instead of him educating me on the benefits of taking the medications he recommended, he tells me to go find another office because he is discharging me ....please run from this horrible individual because he will do more harm than good !!! In fact, I stopped substance abuse because I wanted to be on the road to recovery and he just chased me right back to a dark place ....Thank goodness I am a strong person; otherwise, after the way he treated me today I would take my life!! I am worse than better after my experience with him! Sad that he treats mental health patients so poorly! He’s exceptional! No complaints whatsoever

This doctor has helped me when I didnt know how to help myself. He listens ti my complaints of which there r many, and talks with me to help me understand. Thank you Dr Buzogany for all that you do for me.

Difficult to work with and doesn't listen well. There are different ways to help people, but the whole "truth and honesty" in a blunt manner isn't going to always work. Some people can't just shrug things off and power through, after all, maybe that's why they are seeking help in the first place? Because they are struggling! It's about being treated like an equal person that is deserving of support. Showing empathy isn't weak.

Caution. Horrible man. Horrible doctor. Needs terminated. 1. Doesn't look into family dynamics/family abuse/trauma/dysfuntion 2. Insufficient care, lack of professional knowledge 3. A cocky and self-loving Egotistical axxhole. I was in an awful time in my life and he came at me in a threatening and cocky way. Run from this nutcase!

If you are adverse to the truth and honesty, find another doctor. Dr. Buzogany tells it like it is, which means he is going to "hurt your feelings". He told me I'm snarky and have a bad attitude, he is correct. I'll take truth over treating me like a snowflake.

He gave me much needed help. I miss him every day. Wish he was still in this part of PA.

Horrible, the doctor saw me one time and stated he would make it that I could not get a license in my home state. Impacting Job, living situation, and family. He should have his medical license suspended.

Truly DISGUSTING. Unprofessional-ism at its finest.

He showed little concern to me until I called to change doctors. I’ve seen him for a few months and he hasn’t listen to me. Now that I’m calling to change he’s concerned. I wanna feel cared about and not to be then concerned about when I wanna change doctors

This guy is clearly well educated but the problem I have is that he is careless and unprofessional. I arrive for an appointment to recieve help for depression due to both parents passing away and this "doctor" wants to load me on pills and label me with three different psychotic diagnoses. He was focused on symptoms I do NOT have and would not discuss the real issue at hand. I did not feel safe nor feel I could trust him. I have been going to Dr B for a year. I'm about to find a new doctor and I don't know what took me so long -- except that he had me on medication that was causing me not to think clearly. Dr. B. overruled previous diagnosis of depression and adult ADD (I'm 70 yrs old and was diagnosed 40 years ago). and told me I was bipolar. He told me to stop all medication I was on. He prescribed medication that has actually caused me to feel worse -- unable to function for a year. I finally stopped taking his prescribed medication on my own and I feel much better. As mentioned, I'm70 years old and I cannot afford to be catatonic any longer. It's not as though I haven't been telling him all along that I'm not getting better, I have ! Once when I told him I felt no better, he very sarcastically asked me if I wanted to stop the medication. More recently,, when I said I was just simply depressed all of the time (still), he told me the medication was evening out. If it hasn't evened out after a year, will it ever? He is arrogant, doesn't listen and doesn't seem to care. I feel as though I'm a part on an assembly line. His office frequently cancels and reschedules appointments. Once, three in a row and then he accused me of missing my appointments. When I told him why I hadn't been there, he basically said he was allowed to miss appointments because he was the doctor. (Has this anything to do with the accusation? No.) In the time I've been seeing Dr B and speaking with others, I have a feeling that he diagnoses everyone with bipolar disorder (just a matter of degrees to him). I thought he was nice. And I felt pretty relaxed being here.

Avoid this man at all costs! He either hates his job or his clients or both. He's very uncaring and unprofessional. Go elsewhere! Horrible! Giving one star is very generous unfortunately there are no negative stars.

This guy is the definition of egotistical. He won't care about your concerns or work with you at all. He will blame you and refuse to ever admit he is wrong. And expect him to miss many appointments!

I saw Dr. Buzogany for depression. I spent more time in the waiting room and other small waiting rooms than I spent with him. He was so uncaring, unprofessional and out right mean I think I cried throughout the entire visit, and no it wasn't from depression. I had the feeling he didn't believe I had depression and he kept trying to convince me I was a drug addict because I occasionally took Ativan (anti anxiety med) which I take several times a year for anxiety. I have NEVER been treated so poorly in my life. I am a registered nurse (for over 25 yrs) and have always tried to treat people with dignity & respect. Because he was under the impression I was somehow a "druggie" he treated me soooo bad. He talked down to me, wouldn't listen to anything I'd say and constantly interrupted to tell ME I was wrong and what really was wrong with me. We never talked or addressed my depression. No one regardless of ones station in life should be treated this way but I'm pretty sure he did not know I was a professional, but like I said that shouldn't matter when dealing with people.
