Dr. Joseph M Carbone

Neither the doctor or his staff wear masks during these very uncertain times. They have signs up, but not not enforce that the patients wear masks even in their waiting rooms. Very irresponsible!!

I like Dr Carbone a lot. He’s a smart Dr and is personable with his patients. He also explains things well so I understand what is going on.

Not thorough, unprofessional, and rude.

Absolutely terrible doctor!! Do not go to him!!!!! My dad had cystoscopies done in his office regularly for a year and Dr. Carbone missed a LARGE bladder tumor that was there! Dr. Carbone treated my dad for prostate infection for TWO months!! The only reason the tumor was found was bc we requested he do another cystoscopy bc the “prostate infection” wasn’t getting better. My dad ended up having to have his bladder removed bc Dr. Carbone missed it not once, not twice, not even three times. He missed it at least 4 times! (We had another urologist at Duke remove his bladder) When I confronted Dr. Carbone about the misdiagnosis he was rude and said he couldn’t do a thorough examination bc my dad was in pain! ???? obviously he was in pain, bc he had a tumor that was taking over his bladder. This man doesn’t even deserve one star. If zero stars was an option then that’s what he would be rated. I usually don’t write reviews and I always find the good in people. But this man is terrible and a very unprofessional “doctor.” He continuously misdiagnosed my dad for a year. When he finally found a bladder tumor it was too late. My dad had to have his bladder removed because of Carbone. Things like this don’t happen to people who regularly visit a urologist. My dad had cystoscopies done every 3 months for the past year. A large invasive bladder tumor like the one my dad had, had to of been there at least a year. Meanwhile Carbone tried to tell us in a VERY tone that my dad’s tumor grew fast and it wasn’t there the prior month during cystoscopy. I’m not a doctor, but if my dad had a cystoscopy every 3 months for a year the tumor would have been caught before it became invasive. I spoke to 3 other urologist at different times and all 3 of them said that this tumor could not of grown within a couple months! Dr. Carbone misdiagnosed my dad for a year and because of him my dad had to have his bladder removed. He later had other complications and just recently passed away, and I am blaming it all of this so called “doctor” Beware. Do not go to him!!

Very unprofessional and rude. Doesn’t listen to patient concerns. We felt rushed at each of our visits.

Always listens to me and is very understanding and knowledgeable. I feel comfortable discussing my very personal problems.

Providers are caring & friendly & have never been pushy on my visits...they listen...and have the attitude to solve issues in all.

I have always received good customer service and focused attention from the staff whenever I've visited. I was surprised the last time that I only required one visit to get a solution to my problem. The nurse who interviewed me was great; the NP who saw me was thorough; and the ultra sound was a surprise and the operator was very cordial. If you're wondering about where to go, I would definitely recommend these specialists. They know what they're doing.
