No regrets at all going with Dr. J. You hear so many different opinions on vasectomies but this was flawless. Very minimal pain/discomfort, and he is vey reassuring, also the best in the twin cities. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I’m glad I never have to do it again, but if I did, he’d be my doctor.

Dr. Cerny and his staff are the best! Dr. Cerny is upbeat, and always displays a positive attitude. He is very knowledgeable and extremely skilled as a surgeon. The support team members around him are always very friendly and highly competent. If you need to see a urologist, this is the place to go.

My procedure went quickly and was on time. Dr. Cerny narrated the whole experience as it was happening. Very comforting and professional.

I appreciate Dr. Cerny for his friendly and professional attitude. He is concerned about my overall wellbeing as well as my specific urological health. He’s happy to answer any questions I have and he clearly explains anything I don’t completely understand.

The entire process from setting up an appointment to scheduling my operation was very easy. Doctor Cerny and staff were very helpful as well!

Dr. Cerny is one of my two or three favorite providers and I've had many in 65 yrs. He is honest, direct, thorough and thoughtful when discussing care. I feel fortunate receiving care with this clinc and Dr. Cerny specifically.

The entire staff is courteous and moves you throughout your appointment in a timely fashion. Dr. Cerny is personable, thoughtful and friendly. And helped knock out a quick and efficient vasectomy. He's the best!

I have been a patient of Dr. Cerny's for over four years. He diagnosed and removed a cancerous kidney. His follow-ups are complete, the conversations are to the point and give me confidence.

Very good care. Appointments, staff, surgery and follow up all excellent.

Dr. Cerny is very business like, professional. He seems to be very thorough in his approach to your care. He took the time to double check things before prescribing treatment and that made us more comfortable.

Dr. Cerny is informative and answers all my questions clearly. He is the most punctual medical professional I have ever visited. Most visits he is exactly on time, but has never been more than a couple of minutes late.

Dr. Cerny is a very caring physician with a great sence of humor. He answers your questions without reservations. He explains why he does tests the value for doing each test.

He didn't really seem to want to listen to my concerns or issue for which I was referred. Just really didn't seem to give a hoot at all - hurried me through my appointment and out the door. Nurses were nice though.

I have been a patient of Dr Cerny's for 10 plus years. He has treated me for a variety of Prostate issues over that time. I consider Dr Cerny an excellent physician. He has a very honest and direct approach with a good sense of humor on the side.

Joseph Cerney is a kind, compassionate, caring person, who by the way is a Doctor on top of all that. He listens, he cares, and he knows exactly what to do and how to do it to take care of your issue. Mine happened to be a kidney stone. He jumped in to "save the day" doing my surgery after already doing a full day. He explained everything in terms I could understand. I was extremely put at ease when I heard he was doing my surgery as he he had helped my wife prior to my procedure and he did an excellent job. You never know who your going to get when you have to go the emergency room for a kidney stone, I was lucky and got Dr. Cerny for my care, and I could not have been any happier. Doctor Cerny is personable, easy to talk to about difficult things. He tells it like it is. I feel supported no matter what the outcome of the tests are.

Dr. Cerny has taken care of my elderly father for many years. After my father completed radioactive seed surgery for prostate cancer; an unexpected problem began to surface. My dad had experienced episodic narrowing of the urethra; which is presumed to be due to scar tissue formation from radiation. These strictures have lead to emergency room visits. Dr. Cerny has provided a solution in the form of doing a same- day procedure that opens the structure. This has provided relief for my father. Also Dr. Cerny’s staff are easily accessible to treat any problem. I went to Dr Cerny for prostate cancer. I found him to be everything you would want in a physician. Neither my wife or I every found him arrogant.

Absolutely horrible ‘physician’!! Cared more about his own schedule than his patients! Refused to see a patient after they drove well over two hours to see him because the patient was 5 minutes late!!! And only because parking was impossible at the clinic! If he treats his patients like this in clinic I can’t even imagine how horrible he cares for them before, during, and after surgery. I will never refer anyone to him ever again. Dr Cerny will give an initial impression of being a bit cold & calculated. Having said that, he also likely saved my life from prostate cancer. I've been clear for over 4 years now. His demeanor has also become much more personable when I go back for checkups. We banter back & forth & he knows me when he sees me. Dr Cerny is a fine surgeon. But understand that is what he does, surgery. If you want to look at non surgical options, he will tell you about them, but that is on you to explore. Arrogant and does not care about the patient. I am a Nurse and in all my years of practice I have never met a Doctor that has as little compassion as he does.

Absolutely terrible! My wife was back there for a second visit with kidney pain after waiting 3 days for the appointment they make her sit and say nothing to her for over an hour! When she finally goes up to the front desks and asks if she’s next the receptionist goes around the corner to ask a nurse... My wife hears the nurse tell her “we don’t have time for this just have her pee in a cup” really?? This is after weeks of problems and their doctor saying she can no pee in a cup they need a culture from her bladder. Needless to say she turned around and walked out in tears. Stay away from this place terrible service and it sounds like they lack empathy.. Absolutely terrible! He didn't even ask me any questions, just refused to help me and told me that other doctors wouldn't either, which was not true

Dr. Cerny performed a vasectomy. The consultation, procedure and follow up went well. He's a good doctor and surgeon and is very down to earth. The whole experience for me was good.

I am 30 months post prostate surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Cerny! He explained my options, answered our questions and I am happy and healthy.

Very bad experience. Told he was very busy that day and only scheduled an outside X-ray after already being provided with a CT from the referring doctor.

I was told my condition had no cure, and to "suck it up". Then he walked me out before I could gather myself enough to ask questions. Saw him for about 5 minutes and was charged $250.

In his first sentence to me I was told he didn't think he could help me, before I even described a single symptom. He was incredibly arrogant and condescending and gave me all of about 5 seconds to talk before he more or less told me told me there was nothing to be done. I got a second opinion and got resolution for a fairly common condition after suffering needlessly for 2.5 months waiting on another appointment. Do whatever you need to do to see another doctor.

I saw Dr. Cerny regarding pain in my genitals and some increased urge to urinate. Immediately, he came off as very arrogant and made me feel uncomfortable to ask questions. He performed a cytoscopy on me, which for me was very painful, and he stated during this "Yeah, that's what real urethra pain feels like". I don't know what doctor thinks that is an alright thing to say. I would warn anyone not to see this doctor.

Upon our first meeting, I found Dr Cerney to be extremely arrogant. He emphatically stated that the pain I was experiencing was not caused by the condition that he confirmed I had. There are few absolutes in our universe. Had he not been so arrogant and made a statement such as not likely the cause, I may not be commenting here. He also required additional testing, at my expense, that confirmed all the prior tests I had received. I was left with no relief and no referral to resolve my issue.

I am 8 months out from prostate cancer surgery. To date, everything Dr.Cerny has told me has come to pass. Dealing with some of the office staff at Urology associates can be hit or miss, but the group overall (medically) has a very good reputation. My experience with Dr.Cerny has been equally as good. I'm glad he's my urologist.
