Dr. Galati and his staff have been an incredible source of strength for me and my family throughout my health issues. In particular, Anthony Santos, Hepatology Nurse Practitioner, and Marie Moreno, Lead Medical Assistant, have provided significant information, assistance and friendship along the way. Dr. Galati and his team have been a fantastic source of support and positive inspiration. I will be forever grateful to their medical expertise and their caring friendship. Dr. Joseph Gulati is one of the best gastrologist I have ever met his staff kind he’s a very kind man I will recommend him because of his kindness and he do care I haven’t been with him in a while but it’s about time for me to go to see a liver specialist and I will not see any other liver specialist but him.

Don’t waste your time and your money you can’t see doctor only NURSE PRACTITIIONER exam you. I had appointment with Dr Galati 02/21/2022, however the nurse tried examine me instead of the doctor. I said to the nurse the I don’t have appointment with her and I would like to see Dr Galati. She said she is the nurse practitioner and will perform the examination and I did not let her and left, wasting all my day that was set aside to see the doctor. Also I checked all the business cards they have at the reception desk and only one was a card for a doctor. The rest of them are all nurse or nurse practitioner. The doctor advertises then claims to be busy and you have only have a chance to see a Nurse Practitioner and not the doctor. It’s basically a bait and switch scheme. Virtually impossible to get a return phone call or eMail. Rarely got to see the doctor.

My father who has been dead for ten years, with no help from Dr Galati, just got signed up for his newsletter. I guess he's trying to sell my deceased father a new dietary program. Not sure what other people think of Dr Galati but that's pretty insensitive and disrespectful of him and his staff to sign up my father for a newsletter and try to say that he signed up for it himself. Mixed emotions with this Dr Galati, I think he's an intelligent guy but question his motives. I sought him out on my own because I was told I had non alcoholic liver disease and wanted a second opinion and further advice. Performed a fibroscan and before he even looked at my results or discussed he wanted to get me signed up with his nutritionist and enrolled in his weight loss boot camp involving meal replacement shakes . I see this as a conflict of interest and a money grab. Doctor or office would never even call me to discuss my lab results further. Posting so others can go in with open eyes. I have been seeing Dr Galati for almost 3 years.He takes time to answer questions,concerns.I feel lucky to have found him.on initial diagnosis I was so shocked I asked for 2nd appointment next week he saw me again to go over findings again.Most Dr's do good giving you 5 minutes of their time.

Dr. Galati could be the best hepatologist on the planet, but if no one answers the phone or responds to email or voice mail, what’s the point??? His staff is absolutely awful about follow up and any communication in general. The patient portal is useless. The staff is constantly passing the buck and blaming someone else in the office for not doing their job. I’ve seen Galati twice...during my intake appt. and when he did my endoscopy. I’ve dealt with NPs and medical assistants since. Initially Galati was great, and gave me hope and has helped me, but it’s been a frustrating downhill every day since. Hey coach, your team is dropping the ball! I’m afraid I’m going to start looking for a new hepatologist who spends less time on Facebook and Instagram and more time with his patients and making sure his practice is run correctly.

Dr. Galati & his staff no doubt are the most unprofessional doctors office I have ever unfortunately had the short time of dealing with before I found a doctor that truly cares about his patients. They don’t return phone calls, they don’t answer emails via the portal, they don’t return emails to their email address. They don’t respond! You have to bug the daylights out of them for results - I would get my results from the lab/hospital before the doctor. Then they were wrong! I had a liver biopsy in Aug, I was told the doctor didn’t have an appointment until October to give me my results. I don’t need a doctor that is so busy after the first appointment he pushes you off to the PA, but he will tell you he will review your chart. No thank you! Dr. Galati is a good doctor I just wish , he would see his patience more, not that the assistant . They see the PA , there's a long wait appointment at 10 you get called maybe 45 minutes later.

Dr. Gulati treated my father back in 2013 and he gave us two more years with him ..after his transplant. I was placed in a new drug program by Dr Galat and his staff at Liver specialists of Texas. The staff were a joy to work with and the result of my participation in the study was that the study drug worked and helped my body defeat hepatitis c.

Dr Galati is my liver doctor, I could not be happier! He is always available when we need to make an appointment and is very knowledgeable!! My husband came with me and they worked the staff worked in him - they went above and beyond. Very compassionate!

Dr. Galati has been my doctor for over 15 years and I have always received excellent and compassionate care. He has continued to care for me since my liver transplant in 2008. He is an advocate and is top in his field. I would highly recommend him!

Very pleasant staff. Called me the day before to prepare me for my visit with Dr. Galati. Small wait. But I would guess it comes with the acuity of patients. They took their time with me which provided comfort as I was very worried about my liver.

The negative reviews below are very accurate. I had the same experience. After the first visits they take the money and run with no feedback on your results and they postpone all future visits.

You don't hear back from your doctor's office regarding your results. Even if they look okay, they should provide them if it is requested. I requested my lab results (from May) in June, August, and September for 3times, no response. If they are not communicating with patients, what is the purpose of having a patient portal?

You only get to see Dr Galati ONE time. The rest you only see a nurse. I think Dr Galati cares for the money ?? more than his patients. Dr Galati sends lab work to his own lab which is GALA Pathology/GALA Histology. He does not care if it’s out of network because if the insurance doesn’t pay everything he makes the patient pay!

Took my dad to consult with the doctor. We drove far away to Houston to meet with the doctor. Dr. Gatti is nice and professional but some of his staffs are so unprofessional. Dr. ordered lab work and MRI. I took my dad to do bloodwork and MRI. A nurse told me that i will be contacted when the result came out. After that day, we kept on waiting the call but there wasn't any. I called the nurse and she did not pick up the call. I left the message and there she did not call back. I called the office again and i was to that they did not see any request for follow up. Instead, another nurse called me back and asked to do bloodwork again. I went to Dr Galati for help and was advised nothing he could do I kept seeking help for hep c and went to Dr Glombicki out of sight Dr who then referred me to Methodist where that fabulous Liver team gave a life saving liver transplant. Dr Galati needs no show or license.

He never crossed the threshold of father's room in ICU at St. Luke's He had fluid on his lungs and eventually signed him out of his care saying he had pulmonary issues. My father languished without care for 2 weeks as my mom begged for his liver to be treated. Finally a friend in the medical field discovered that he was throwing a tantrum and refusing to treat patients so St. Luke's would let him out of his contract. She told us to check my dad out and wheel him to Methodist. They immediately began treating his liver and he went from yellow to pink. They worked to get him on the transplant list but it was too late. His lungs were too weak from the fluid accumulation. He died after two weeks at Methodist. Dr. Galati might be great at treating diseased livers but his ethics make him a terrible human. The absolute best!

I felt welcomed from the begin to the end of my visit. Mr. Galati was professional and caring. He listened to all of my needs and concerns.

Dr. Galati is very knowledgable in his field. He is thorough in his explanation, he checks for understanding, he is kind and understanding. His staff are very professional and friendly. We felt confident under his wing. Highly recommend Dr. Galati and I do so every chance I get.

My experience with Dr. Galati and his staff has been awesome. I have always had the best care with him and his staff. On the times I was in the Hospital. Dr. Galati has been there each time to check on me.

Dr Galati cares deeply for his patients. He communicates this concern and exudes confidence in his ability to help with your particular illness. I trust him. He commands the most up to date research and remedies. I recommend Dr Galati in the strongest way.

Him and his staff saved my life. He knows what he is doing. I was very lucky to have had treatment from dr.galati and erin. Thanks to them i received a liver transplant. It has been almost six months and i am doing great.

I became a patient of Dr.Galati's in 2001. He saved my life. With an undiagnosed ailment, I was in the hospital for 10 days. I had already passed the yellow skin stage and had begun to turn green. I was in isolation because it was unknown if I was contagious. My husband was frantic with worry and was just wandering aimlessly around the hospital. A gentleman got on the elevator with him and they struck up a conversation. When my husband told him about me, this gentleman introduced himself as Doctor Galati and said he would look in on me. Doctor Galati took the time to come see me that day even though he was planning on leaving on vacation that afternoon. From that time on I began to improve. I had lost 70% of my liver waiting for a diagnosis the ten days prior, which Doctor Galati was able to immediately identify and begin treatment. Dr Galati is a fine doctor. He is very well respected in Houston and in Texas. I am delighted to be his patient. He has a good staff that has a lot of work to do - sometimes they are busy, and as with any practice, sometimes things get delayed. Dr Galati and his NP's are the best of the best and I am so proud to be under his care. I am shocked to read some of the comments left here. I have been Dr Galati's patient for more than 10 years - I have never received anything but his best. I think maybe the nasty comments came from patients who could not receive the results they were hoping for - I can go to anyone, anywhere for care and once I found Dr. Galati I have looked no further. Him and his staff saved my life. Literally.

My patient went there first time. She was told that she will Dr. Galati only once. After that the PA will take over. That is unacceptable. I am not sure why doctors are getting lazy! White coat and stethoscope does not make you a good provider. It is the history taking skills and connection between it and the well trained brain that makes a real doctor a good doctor. Insist on real doctors only!

Terrible bed side manner, profession dedicated to saving lives, doesnt even visit the patients.

Dad has end stage liver disease. Drove 3 hours to see this doctor. Dr. requested my dad's liver scan results get back to us THE NEXT DAY. Our apt was on a Tues. After not getting results 3 days later, we called and explained the importance and urgency of getting these results quickly. The indigent who I finally spoke to told me my dad's results were in and came back "normal". Shocked, we asked if he was sure.... He then asked me to CALM DOWN stating he gave us SOMEONE ELSE'S RESULTS! He promised results the next day AND THEY NEVER CAME. A WEEK PASSED. We called and left MANY MESSAGES for the doctor and we NEVER received a call back! If you go to this doctor after reading everyone's reviews, you must WANT TO DIE.!!! Dad has end stage liver disease. From the moment I became a patient at Texas Liver Specialists, the incompetence of the staff was horrible. Three times I have been given blood work request forms that had my diagnosis mis-coded (twice) or requested the wrong blood test (once). I do not drink alcohol, but the blood work request forms twice stated that I had "alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver". Calls to the office still have not gotten this corrected. The third blood work request form requesting the wrong blood test is still in dispute as Dr. Galati refuses to pay for this $121.00 blood test when it was his staff's fault for requesting it in the first place. It has not been turned over to a collection agency because I refuse to pay for it since it was Texas Liver Specialists mistake and not mine. Lastly, do not go to this clinic because you will never see Dr. Galati. You only see his PA or NP as he is apparently too busy to discuss colonoscopy results and liver biopsy results with the patients himself. Don't waste your time or money at this clinic. Yes I would always recommend Dr. Galati. He is the Best in his Area of Medicine. I have seen him for 17 years and tried several clinical trial medications to get curried of Hepatitis C. He help me along even though my dieses would not give in and die out. With Harvoni that he got me on I am now curried. An I have received a new liver by now and I saw him several times while in the Methodist Transplant facility. You cannot do any better that this facility or by going to Dr. Galati. His office st

As a long standing patient who admired this man at one time I was shocked by the way I was treated. I phoned the office 38 times left 14 messages on a recording and spoke to the service leaving a message 2xs. I was never responded to. A good thing another Doctor stepped in or I would be DEAD today! I still haven't heard back from anyone. Not Dr. Galati, his PA Erin or any of his staff. Beware of the doctor who gets 2 big to actually treat his patients. A huge disappointment!
