Highly recommended. I have experienced excellent results from Neurosurgury Assoc treatments for both upper & lower back. Surgical as well as non-surgical procedures have improved my health considerably. Friendly staff, caring doctor with exceptional Neurosurgical abilities.

Just a total mess. Initial appointment, 7/19/21, 30+ mils to Grant Med. Center, for what, at the time, was acute back pain. Dr. Shehadi indicated he really could not do anything until he sees an MRI, so he prescribes PT and an MRI. I start PT ASAP and get an MRI on the 30th. An additional appt was set for 8/20, that gets pushed out a MONTH to 9/24. I show up and he asks me for the disc with the MRI. Um, and I supposed to be prescient? He then takes off his mask and goes into a rant about having to wear masks, "you could die from anything" he says - so terrible care from a purported health care professional without a lick of sense! And, this guy does SURGERY?? Not for me, look out Marrietta and Athens, this is not a neurologist you want -- STEER CLEAR, find a neurologist with a brain! Oh, and he was upset that I used foul language after receiving horrendous health care and him not having the MRI and blaming me. "My office usually calls you" is not good health care.

I can’t say enough about Dr Shehadi and his staff. Professional yet friendly and definitely very capable. All of my arm pain shoulder pain numbness and tingling is completely gone and I’m 100% back to my old self.

Excellent! 13 years ago he did a cervical fusion with no issues. I was so very happy to learn that he was still in practice when I needed a second cervical fusion. I just finished my 1st post op exam from my second cervical fusion and again no issues. He and his staff were wonderful. He has my vote for anyone needing a respectable neurosurgeon.

My family had a horrific experience with this 'doctor'... twice. If I could give him zero stars I would. Run away as fast as you can!

My name is Keitha, my first experience with Dr Schedahi was in 2018 when he did a fusion of my lower back, which to this day I have had no problems what so ever. I started experiencing pain in my neck about a year ago, after therapy, shots and MRI's and was told the problem was more serious and needed surgery to correct, I told my family Dr, nobody was touching my spine but Dr Schedahi. I injured my elbow while exercising at home in early May, 2020. Although it was painful, I was not concerned at first thinking it will get better in couple days with rest and pills. Weeks went by and I still had discomfort and limited functionality of my arm. After some reading, I realized I had tennis elbow symptoms and I needed to see a physician. A friend recommended Neurosurgery Associates for therapeutic treatment. During my visit Dr Joseph Shehadi he explained all the different stem cell therapies with great details. He was very courteous and willing to answer all my questions and address my concerns. He recommended PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatment for my injury. Four weeks after the procedure, the pain started to fade away, and I gained most of my strength back. For the past year, Arthritis and bone spurs in my lower back caused a numbness in my feet which resulted in difficuilty walking ("Foot Drop") and aggravated back pain EVERY DAY. I was cautioned NOT to wait by two doctors. Dr Shehadi performed a Decompressive Lumbar Laminectomy on L2-5 + S-1 six weeks ago. At two weeks after surgery, I was walking 1/2 hour every day around the block; at 6 weeks, I have little back pain and getting ready for PT next week to build up strength in my feet and toes. Net / net, I was fortunate to gain a 90% improvement both physically and mentally ! ! A SPECIAL "THANK YOU " to the good doctor, his staff and their hard work after a 7 hour surgery. After waking up twice not being able to get out of bed because my left side was dead I started to find out why. Thanks to Dr. Shehadi he found pinched nerves in my cervical. After surgery, I immediately noticed when I woke up the pain in my shoulder was gone and I could move everything on my left side. Returning home after surgery I had no pain, I quit dropping things I picked up. Wearing the cervical brace for 6 weeks was easy and the bone stimulator is very easy to wear. Don't wait get it done now.

I have some spinal stenosis and some spinal problems caused by an injury which occurred in 2018. Dr Shehadi was the first among a number of Drs. I had seen to actually figure out what was wrong with me and suggest a very clear, concise method for fixing it. He explained the surgery to me in advance in language I could easily understand. He called me right over to the X-ray viewer, showed me what the problem was and explained how he intended to fix it. And then, he did exactly what he said he was going to do and solved my problem. Excellent experience for me from start to finish. Dr. Shehadi is a true professional and his staff, including Dr Anna Stroud and all the others I dealt with (Amy, Allah etc.) were wonderful people.

Dr Shehadi told me he would get rid of my pain and he sure did...I have spinal stenosis had two rods on right side with three screws and two on left with two screws..The pain was gone immediately. I'm back to being me after being down all summer. He is the best...Thank you Dr and Anna.....

Dr Shehadi and his staff are wonderful. Can’t say enough with how pleased I am with Dr Shehadi’s skill. I had severe spinal stenosis. And in a lot of pain After completing two surgeries I feel so much better. Would highly recommend Dr Shehadi.

I have been dealing with pain and mobility issues for the last 27 yrs due to a lower back injury. Last 12 yrs I have been doing physical therapy routines to somewhat help with these issues. By late 2019 the routines no longer helped and surgery was necessary. Starting then the pain ranged from 5 to 9 most of the time in random locations between my lower back and my calves. Had occasional numbness in my legs and feet. Proper upright position when sitting and standing could not be done without causing pain. When laying down I was limited in my body positions that caused the least amount of pain and those positions varied each time. Walking caused discomfort from the start and quickly led to pain usually between 50-100 feet. Going up and down steps was painful. Dr. Shehadi did surgery on my lower back in mid June. It is now 1.5 months later. The pain is gone. Mobility has came back. I am capable of proper posture again. I can walk and do steps without pain. I would recommend Dr. Shehadi.

Yes doctor shoddy and his staff is very very good people I wish I could have found him 1st . 6 hour surgery 3 months downtime . Cervical c7-t1 wish I could share pics of 2 weeks and 2 days after. Great stay at Grant hospital.

I was referred to Dr.Shehadi after I was involved in a car accident resulting in a concussion. I found him to be an extremely intelligent person mixed nicely with a pleasant, kind and humble approach. For my situation he used a neurological testing program called Clear Edge, which is fully approved by the FDA, and is an extremely accurate tool for evaluating amount of damage resulting from a brain injury. He is a professor of neuro surgery as well as a neuro surgeon and is completely up to date with any and all new procedures and testing used in his field. I trust him 100%. Dr shehadi is awesome ! I had c5c6 ACDF surgery done . I was very scared the morning of surgery and after talking to him he calmed me down drastically. His bedside manner is awesome. He is a jokester when needs to be but also very serious when he needs to be . I wouldn't go anywhere else !! Nurse practitioner and office staff is awesome also . Dr shehadi is awesome ! I am so grateful Dr. Lin referred me to Dr. Shehadi. From the very beginning he set my mind at ease. His kindness and compassion for my 20yrs of pain was amazing! Dr. Shehadi explained exactly how, why and what would happen. The staff is A+ they are compassionate and understanding. Dr. Shehadi met with myself and my husband (on his birthday) the day of my surgery. He was full of optimism and laughter. He explained again briefly what would happen during surgery. His confidence set my mind at ease. The nurses and others at Grant were amazing! Dr. Shehadi came in to see me personally after the procedure and then went and spoke with my husband. My stay at Grant was super they were so good to me. I will admit I was a pain in the butt after care patient and the girls in the office were so good and patient with me with every phone call. Dr. Shehadi is fantastic! I had lower back pain, sciatica in my right leg and weakness in my left leg. He performed a T-11 through L-3 laminectomy and removed a 10cm lipoma from inside my spine. These are rare and usually only found in infants, not older adults. The surgery was two months ago and I would say I am 85% better. No more sciatic or lower back pain. Thank you!

Dr. Shehadi is the best. Removed a growth from between two discs and fused the 2 together. Pain immediately relieved following surgery, recovery superb--- remarkable. Felt near normal after 2 weeks, and at 4 weeks completely normal. Thanks Dr. Shehadi!!!!

The survey dr. Shehadi performed changed my life. I went from 10 out of 10 all the time pain. Numbness and weakness and an inability to do anything I liked to do. Now i am pain free, and completely off my pain medication. I am able to work run throw a ball with my son, and sleep without interruption.

DR. Shahady and his team recently replaced an implant in my back to control pain from previous major back surgeries. The pain was increasing and could not be controlled by injections. His team implanted a new device which was much improved over the previous model. It has greatly improved my personal situation. My profound thanks to Dr Shahady and all the members of his team for their professionalism and their compassionate approach to me and my situation. Dr. Shehadi has operated on me three times. Each surgery was very successful. One on my neck and both hands for carpal tunnel. Hardly any pain, extremely talented at what he does. As soon as the anesthesia wore off I could move my fingers normally again. My friends and family were amazed!! The best thing about him is he explains things well, tells his opinion, and lets you decide what to do. He has an excellent support staff. His surgery scheduler works very hard to make sure everything goes well. I absolutely love his bedside manner, very friendly, east to talk to. I'm having sciatica problems he is definitely the one I'm seeing. I would definitely recommend this doctor, love him!!

My name is Yvette and my sister introduced me to Dr. Shehadi after I had seen the results of her surgery. I was very skeptical because I had thoracic back surgery in 1991 and the experience was not good. I had swore no more surgeries. Now at 65 the lower lumbar which I had been told years ago needed to be fixed had to be done. I met with Dr Shehadi and he reassured me he could fix my lower with a two part surgery. I took the leap of faith and felt very confident knowing Dr. Shehadi was an honest and spiritual doctor. The stay was only 3 days and returned at 5 weeks after standing straight up and taking steps which I had not done in years. I had been bent over not able to drive far and not able to walk long distances. I cannot speak on the kindness of the staff at his office enough. Looking forward to second part of surgery to stabilize everything. Something I never thought I would say. Dr. Shehadi truly has been touched by God to be a healer among men. Excellent doctor! Highly recommend him if you need neurosurgery! I am a RN and have over 39 years of Nursing experience. I know a good physician when I meet one. He has very many patients who are doctors and nurses, and he came highly recommended. I shopped around and chose wisely, as I needed neck surgery. He is friendly, fair and honest. He is highly skilled and very qualified as well. I had my surgery in July and 3.5 months later and I am 95% pain free! I work at Mount Carmel, and was able to have my surgery at St.Ann’s. He practices primarily at Ohio Health (Grant and Riverside Surgery Centers) but also operates at St.Ann’s. I was in terrible pain prior to my surgery and could not function. My arms were in pain, as well as my neck and shoulders. Now, I just have a very small amount of residual stiffness in my neck with very minimal pain! Your Health is SO IMPORTANT! Take good care of yourself, and trust ONLY physicians who will take good care of you too.

When I received an MRI which revealed a herniated disc in the lower back, I looked for a well recommended neurosurgeon. We chose to drive to Columbus, OH even though we lived in greater Dayton. Dr. Shehadi and his complete office staff were very professional and understanding. I had complete healing with only short term post-surgery pain. Now, one year later, I have the strength and mobility very much restored.

I had a procedure with Dr. Shehadi on Friday morning. It was a bit more painful than expected but very very pleased so far with the out come. I highly recommend him without reservation. Helpful, caring and knows his stuff.

This was my third back surgery in the last 3 1/2 years. I informed his office that this has to be the last one as I was tired of all the pain . Today was my 3 month check up to see how I was doing,how refreshed I looked, Dr Shehadi was amazed that I was at 97-98% healed and without pain medication since the day after surgery. If all of his patients were to do their homework on the side effects of painkillers, recovery time could be cut in half, just look at me, I did my homework.

Dr. Shehadi is an amazing surgeon. It blows my mind to think it will soon be a decade ago my surgery took place and the benefit of having Dr. Shehadi perform for me is still paying off. Dr. Shehadi is an amazing surgeon. He actually cares about his patients and takes his time to explain everything so that the patient can understand and is willing to take as much time as possible to make sure you understand everything before going into surgery. He did my ACDF C-5 through C-7 surgery 2 years ago and I'm 99% better from those issues. I went back thinking I had additional neck issues only to find out it was carpal tunnel in both hands. He did those surgeries as well and I just finished up my 2 week checkup yesterday and everything is going great and I'm so much better. I had two surgeries within a year and now can say I am pain free. Except for some muscle spasms I am doing fine. I am able to walk without pain in my back and legs. The office staff is very nice and personable. I feel as I was treated as an individual and not just one of a number of patients. Dr. Shehadi has my and my family's upmost confidence and respect. He respected my wishes as to no blood transfusion and took very good care of me. I would highly recommend Dr. Shehadi to my family and friends, as well as anyone having to have spinal surgery. I had severe upper back/neck and shoulder pain along with numbness in my right arm and hand. After x-rays showed nothing and PT was ineffective, I had an MRI showing a herniated disk between C6 and C7. The Orthopedist I was seeing referred me to Dr. Shehadi. The initial consultation and follow-up with this CNP went well and surgery was scheduled. After a short battle with my insurance, which Dr. Shehadi's staff fought for me, I was ready to go. The surgery went well and I had almost no pain in the overnight stay at the hospital. I was sent up with a small amount of pain meds and only took 2 of them while recovering. I work from home and was able to return to my work only 4 days after surgery. Dr. Shehadi's staff was amazing in making me confident in the procedure I was about to undertake. 6 months, I am virtually pain and numbness free. The worst part of the entire procedure was a sore throat from the intubation and work around the throat area.

Dr Shehadi is one if the best physicians that I’ve ever been to. He has a terrific bedside manner and knows what he’s doing. Both my wife and I had back surgery under his care. If you are looking for a great neurosurgeon, your search is over!

Dr Shehadi is amazing!He is somewhat quirky,but is very personable.He has done surgery on my neck and my back.I am truly pleased with the reduction in pain and my ability to reduce my pain meds substantially.I truly think he cares about his patients and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.I can’t say I enjoyed the whole experience but Dr Shehadi was very informative so that we made the best choices for my issues.

I was in his office with my parents for a post op check up and removal of the staple, he was so arrogant and belittling to his nurse Tiffany that it was embarrassing! He was talking down to her and making fun of her as she was trying to remove the staples. She finally had enough and walked out of the exam room as this "doctor" followed her teasing her which resulted in a screaming match. I was not very fond of Dr. Shehadi from the start, he sings silly songs, texting and not very professional

I would avoid going to this doctor. He was trying to sell me a back brace. He was joking with his assistant/trainee instead of being empathetic with my condition. The overall impression I got is he cared more about the money he was going to make off of me, rather than being interested in the condition itself.

Follow up to my earlier review I had my second SI joint fused by Dr. Shehadi miracle worker!!! He knows his stuff, he is compassionate about his work he cares very deeply about his patients and listens to them. I highly recommend Dr. Shehadi and I am not a paid spokesperson. He went in great detail about what he was going to do and what to expect afterwards. Very great bedside manners which is an important skill set for a doctor to have

Dr Shehadi was great when he did my back surgery in 2015 and I felt great! The awesome Dr Shehadi was exposed 3 years later when I was having back pain. To make a long story short, I had become a hysterical women by listening to other professionals an individuals. Dr. Shehadi in a very calm way went thru all 3 test results one by one in a way that I fully understood. His time and patience was above and beyond to say the least. Today I am doing well, thanks to his understanding and caring.

Dr. Shehadi is the best, he did my neck surgery in April 2016 which made me 98% better. I'm having other issues now so of course, I wouldn't go to anyone else!

Dr. Shehadi and Kellie are the best! They listen and are attentive and care! There are few doctors and administrative assistance that can beat this! I feel safe and assured they will help!

Do not put your family member in danger. Avoid like the plague!

Absolutely Amazing! Not being hyperbolic in speech. I was in excruciating pain prior to surgery. I couldn't sleep more than an hour at a time. It was torture just to get out of bed. I was referred to Dr. Shehadi by my primary care physician. Dr. Shehadi's office was quick to call me and was able to get me into the office for pain in my thigh due to a herniated disc. I had already gone through oral steroids, physical therapy, chiropractic care, and a steroid injection into my back with no help. Dr. Shehadi felt surgery was appropriate after the above and the office was able to get me scheduled for surgery within two weeks. Dr. Shehadi's skill brought me back to a normal life after I suffered a crushed vertebrae in a car accident. His caring nature was so calming when he personally visited me very late that night in the ER, and his positive attitude has kept me going throughout my surgeries and recovery. Hello my name is Tonya and would like to tell my story on how Dr.Shehadi helped correct another surgeon's mistakes. I have had two prior Postlaminectomy syndrome, lumbar regions L-2 thru S-1. After reviewing all my MRI'S he gave me a 15%-25% to relief pain and to improve my LT. Drop foot. He informed me that he doesn't usually operate with such a low percentage of improvement. Dr.Shehadi did tell me he would do the surgery but he said it would only last me 2-3 yrs. My surgery was June 2009 two rods and 6-8 screws and 8 hrs.of surgery later. My LT. drop foot improved and relieved some of my lumbar area I was very pleased. Dr.Shehadi has a great bedside manner and makes you feel like family. Great doctor, great bedside manor and explains everything in plain language that you can understand. Did an ACDF C5-C7 as outpatient on me in April 2016 that fixed so much of the pain I was having. He's the best!

I experience lower back pain and burning in L4-S1 going now back of left leg while trying to walk. Dr Shehadi knew right away after looking at my MRI that I needed surgery. I had my surgery in April of this year and immediately afterwards I knew it was successful. I didn’t having the burning pain anymore. I am 6 week postoperative now and I can now walk 1 mile a day. Dr Shehadi is a very caring and personable doctor. He puts you at ease the very first time you meet him. He is the best!!

I came to Dr Shehadi after an auto accident and years of back problems. After trying conservative efforts it was deemed surgery was the only option. Just had my 6 month post op appointment. Phenomenal process! 98% better. Before I was in constant pain, couldn't sleep much, walked hunched over and leaning to the side. Hurt to stand, walk, sit...just miserable. I was starting to get depressed. Not now! I can run, lift weights, work on my bikes, and do yard work. I’d highly recommend Dr Shehadi. He took all the time you needed to explain procedures or any questions. He fought the insurance company when they didn’t want to ok a test or procedure. He always found a solution to any issue. I am pain free now after acdf surgery so he has the skills needed. I am very thankful to him.

Dr. Shehadi has an excellent bedside manner. He takes his time during appointments to explain information and procedures. I am scheduled for 2 lumbar disc replacement in a couple of weeks and I feel very confident in Dr. Shehadi's skills as a surgeon. I also stumbled into information about stem cell treatment in his office. I've been having chronic pain and swelling in my left knee. I chose PRP (Plasma Rich Platelets) treatment, after one treatment my knee is 85% better. I highly recommend .
