Good doctor, but they never answer the phone. Including management.

If the Dr is good or not, is another issue. I didn’t have an issue with the Dr but The staff is horrible! They never answer the phone and they never return calls. The nurses don’t know how to read the charts and no one ever knows anything. You set an apt for one thing and they turn it into something else. I’m still waiting for a call back and follow up information. To save you time, stress, and your loved ones life, go somewhere else. If the Dr is good or not, is another issue. They keep on scheduling me for an appointment even though I've canceled 100s of times. I tried calling management and no one ever answers. It just rings and rings. I'm sure the Dr is a nice person but if there is no way for family members to ask for accommodations so they don't sit for long periods of time....this is not the right office. In my opinion, Dr. Juan P. Gomez is one of the best, if not the best Pulmonologist in Mcallen, the problem is the Office, they dont seem to be Organize , not only dealing in person, Aug. 17 and 18, call the office, put me on hold, waited 10 min. both times for nothing. Never got to talk to anybody, a Total lack of communication.

Dr. Gomez is a nice person and seems like a good doctor, but this is a 1 star review for the following reasons: A. the wait. It is horrible. My time is just as valuable as yours. I shouldn't have to wait 45 minutes to see the doctor every time I come in. B. I'm not sure how much they actually care about my health. I say this because my initial consultation was in December. I had a sleep study a few weeks later in January. I had a follow up a few weeks after that. I had a second sleep study with a c-pap a few weeks later. Then I had a follow up meeting today (again a few weeks later) to tell me they were going to order the c-pap for me. Of course, I am expected to get it in a few week, which will be March. IF YOU REALLY CARED ABOUT MY HEALTH, YOU WOULD HAVE PRESCRIBED THIS TO ME IMMEDIATELY. Instead, I will have waited 3 months since my initial visit to get the device even though it was determined I needed one in January. C. This operation feels like a complete sham, because every time I come in, I pay my co-pay and they bill my insurance company, even if it is to tell me they are ordering the machine. Plus, I wait 45 minutes for a 30 second visit from the P.A. Then they want me to come in every month or so to see if I am using it! I will pay my co-pay again so they can send in the paperwork. This seems like this is really pushing the boundaries of scamming the system. Wait is terrible and staff afraid to open up to patients. Dr. Ver of a matter a fact very mechanical uninvolved. Don't like his demeanor. See him because he's got of the results and don't want go to another dr. And go through it again. He won't release drs. notes or records. Drs. Should work together not compete.

He was the physician that seen me in the hospital he was very professional, nice, on time and caring. I will be seeing him as my Pulmonologist.

He is very arrogant! He does not have the patient's best interest. I don't know why he is a doctor if he does not want to see his patients.

Horrible! Waited over two hours just to be seen. Staff was unfriendly. Had a two o'clock appointment and it was after four o'clock when I finally walked out. Never did see the doctor. Never even got called

Dr. Gomez has been wonderful to my mother for several years. His staff always works her into his busy schedule. He's caring and thoughtful and I would recommend him to anyone who needs a pulmonologist. Lovely person.
