Bedside manner is great, very friendly and puts you at ease. If you're an advocate for yourself, he is not the dr for you. I requested a test he refused to order which would have helped rule out a significant neuro-motor disorder in spite of the fact that my symptoms were getting worse.

Dr missed telehealth calls. Rushed in-person appointments. Dr. says the same spiel to almost every patient. Can't get medical results/recommendations in timely manner.

He is a wonderful doctor. The only thing wrong with him is there isn't 2 of him. He is so busy!!

Rushed, doesn't listen. Doesn't show for telemed calls. Won't provide a needed prescription or solution for a medical issue without a call.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Don't go here, unless you want to be mis-diagnosed and wait months for the proper forms to be sent to the insurance company, only after you call them daily to ask them. It is now too late for my dad's health, after months of getting run around.

I would leave negative stars if I could. This was by far the worst overall medical experience I have seen and been involved with. The doctor is charming, but that is the only positive about him. He gave very vague answers about my dads memory problems, with no resolutions, convinced it was nothing major. After multiple visits and a drastic decline in memory over the course of several months, I finally convinced him to do a PET scan, only to wait 2 months for his office to send the correct forms to the insurance company and imaging center. Once the results came back that my dad have early on-set Alzheimer's, the doctors only response after reading the results to us was " well, see this is what we already knew. At least now you can get your end-of-life plan in order." My dad is 59 and is now several stages deep into it. If treated properly to begin with, he could've started the meds to almost 8 months ago before the rapid decline.

Recently I accompaniment my brother to his apt with Dr julio Cantero. My brother has sleep apnea plus he 75 lbs over weight! I was in hopes that Dr Cantero would seriously address my brothers obesity, since he is on high blood pressure medicine and thyroid medicine! we waited in the small waiting room for 40 minutes. When Dr Cantero came in he stayed in the room with us for 6 minutes when I tried to bring up the issues of my brothers obesity and that the doctor could offer some nutritionist or dietitian I get my brother to take is obesity seriously! The only thing Dr Catero said was there's a program at Sarasota Memorial Hospital? I have not been able to find this program nor to Sarasota Hospital take our insurance he asked my brother if he wanted to sleep apnea machine and it took two months before he got it. I would hope that a doctor would take this situation more seriously address the weight issues tell him out dangerous it is is high salt diet which you shouldn't be on is nutritional needs which my brother knows nothing about 6 minutes after waiting for 40 minutes in the office is unacceptable I do not recommend doctor Catero to anyone with weight problems which accompany sleep apnea very disappointed in any help from the doctor Recently I accompaniment my brother to his apt with Dr julio Cantero. Awesome doctor. Incredible bedside manner.

Dr Cantero and his support group are all outstanding! In addition to being a great dr He is very inspirational and always makes me laugh. That's a big plus especially when you are feeling well, not your best.

Dr. Cantero was fantastic. He listened to our concerns and was great with my daughter, making her feel very comfortable. I highly recommend him and his office.

Not good.

I felt Dr. Cantero’s warmth immediately! He hugged me when giving the news my soon to be 19 year old son has epilepsy. I felt extremely confident leaving his office with a understanding that my son should get enough sleep, stay hydrated, and take this medicine e once a day, and he would be just fine. That was not the case. He had a seizure 3 weeks later and back in the office again. He increased dose and a seizure occurred 3 days later. I made appt with doctor in St. Pete and on the day of that appt ( 5 weeks later) my son had another seizure. We never went back to Dr. Cantero

Very unprofessional considering filing with medical board against him, will not see again, having tremors daily and he tells me to go to a gym

I have been trying since August to get an updated sleep study. I now have had the study cancelled twice as the staff in his office told me to get my own insurance authorization since I asked to go to Sarasota Memorial instead of the place "they prefer." It has been one of the biggest medical nightmares I have experienced. Furthermore, I believe his high reviews are related to his personality more than the care you get in his office. I WOULD NOT recommend this practice mostly due to the poor office management. I have been trying since August to get an updated sleep study. Doctor Cantero is one of the best doctor in town. He is a people person, smile all the time. He ask you how you are doing and listen to your problems.

We feel like we are seeing family \when we see Dr. Cantero. He is very knowledgeable, compassionate, non-rushed physician. When you see hime, you are not a number in the system. He takes his time withyou and is always in a great mood.

I've been with Intercoastal for 0ver 10 years and Dr Cantero is one of the warmest caring physician in the country, having lived in 5 regions and at age 72 I feel qualified to judge. What I love is no waiting & no rushing you out the door. Dr Cantero is full of compassion & listens to what you have to say while taking his time to make sure you fully understand his answers He's everything your looking for in a good Dr. So don't wait go ahead call him and see for yourself

He is a very caring and sensitive man. He explained my medical issues in clear, concise English/Spanish. I highly recommend Dr. Cantero!

It took close to two months to see Dr Cantero, but it was well worth the wait. He took a lot of time with me answering all of my and my wife's questions. He had me do two tests that the hospital could not do without outlandish costs. Using the most up-to-date equipment, it was so easy to do and so inexpensive. He was very friendly as an added bonus.

Dr. Cantero is the best, most caring, most personable, friendly Doctor I have ever encountered. He is a graduate of Columbia Univ. meaning he has been trained by the best. Both of my daughters see Dr. Cantero and they love him too! R. Hart

I see him for POTS; my roommate sees him as well. Very kind, caring, and intelligent - probably the most respectful doctor I've seen. So glad to have happened upon him!

Has A Person,That Never Had Seizures, & In 1999 I Had My 1st Granma Seizure. It Put Me Out Of Work. We Moved To Florida In 2004. I'd Tried A Couple of Other Neurologist. & I Didn't Felt Uncomfortable, W/Both of The 1st Two Dr.s. One of The Two Even Told Me It Was All In My Head.. One Thing I Will Say If You or Someone You Know That Has Seizure, That's Not Something You Make Up. So I Happen To Be {S.M.H} During My Stay In The Hospital. Dr.Julio Cantero, Was The Neurologist On Call. So Had Came In To My Room,To See How I Was Doing? And Right Away, I Could Tell He Was A Very Caring Doctor !!! I'd Told Him A Little of What's Been Going On Wit Me & Just Happened To Tell Him About The Two Neurologist,& The Way They Treated Me. So After His Doctor Dutys. I'd Ask (Him) Dr. Cantero If It Was Possible For Him To Be My Neurologist. He Seamed Very Caring, I Had A Good Felling About Him. So He Said When I Was Released From The Hospital. That I Could Make An Appointment for 2 Weeks of Being Discharged. We Shook Hands. And From That Point On. I Could See He Had A Heart of Gold, Caring And We Were Able To Build A Doctor Patient Bond. Dr. Julio Cantero is very friendly. He understands the issues that you are coming in for and what the solution is. It was a good experience. The doctor was very thorough, and took all the time necessary to make sure I could feel better. I would highly recommend this Neurologist .

Dr. Cantero has some of the best bedside manner, in other words very friendly, I have ever seen. He was prompt in seeing me after my vitals as well as understanding the issues I was coming in for and what medication would work best for me. If anyone is looking for a neurologist I would recommend him immediately. He listens to problems actually enters what you are conveying to him into the medical records. Great at explaining treatment to those who are knowledgeable or new to medical treatment

I had an accident and subsequently had a number of weird symptoms. I went to see another neurologist who had unfortunately no idea what was going on. After a few frustrating weeks I went to see Dr Cantero who promptly found the reason for my symptoms and pain. Dr Cantero is a very friendly gentleman who explained things well. Thanks a lot Dr Cantero!!

Today. I have seen to Dr. Cantero: Dr. Cantero was very courteous and professional. He explained everything about my pains and answered any questions that I had. A caring, sincere, and empathetic attitude. He made me feel relaxed, well-cared for and confident. He was very down-to-earth. I would highly recommend him to others.

Dr Cantero was not willing to hear about the patient's dangerously angry outbursts from his wife. His only line of questioning the patient related to memory. Had to find a doctor who understands the behavioral changes that occur as a result of Alzheimers and is experienced treating the whole person not just the physical brain of the patient.

He really gets to know you and listens to what you are feeling. He asks questions to get to the root of your problem. He takes his time and I didn't feel like he was rushing. Very kind and caring.
