Dr. Justus W. Thomas

Ever since the first day I went to see him about 3 yrs ago he’s very caring takes his time checking my eyes. He is very well mannered he explains everything he is doing and is never rushing during the examination of my vision. I will definitely recommend him. He is the best!

We waited over 2 hours to see the Doctor. Waiting room completely filled. Not one extra parking spot. Receptionist told us that it’s always like this. When I complained about them booking 20 people at a time for the same appointment time, the receptionist told me that we could go somewhere else, find another Doctor. We will. The Doctor stayed in the room for 2 minutes and left without answering our questions

I had a follow-up appt with Dr. Thomas today. My appt was at 1:20pm and I didn’t actually see him until about 3:15pm or so (almost 2 hours after my scheduled time). Mind you, I was not the only flustered patient that had been waiting (and waiting) to be seen. One other patient commented that she had already been there over 2 hours! And she added that this was commonplace at this practice... she commented: “They schedule way too many patients because it’s all about making money”. It is uncommon for me to post negative reviews, but I felt this one was more than warranted. I have worked in the medical field for the last 20 years and none of the physicians that I have worked with have ever behaved the way Dr. Thomas did today. After waiting almost 2 hours to even see him, I wanted to provide him feedback on the excessively long wait time. I erroneously believed that Dr. Thomas would prefer to receive patient feedback in person rather than via a negative online review since this would provide him the opportunity to address my concerns (or at most, pretend he cared). I waited until after he had finished my exam and when he asked me if there were any other questions or concerns, I immediately let him know that I wanted to share some feedback with him. He popped up quite quickly from the rolling stool and practically sprinted out of the door saying “I’ve got an emergency, I’ll have my manager come in”….all this before I could even finish my statement. I was left speechless and appalled at his behavior. (interestingly enough, I had been forewarned by someone there that “he may get mad” if I said anything to him…now I see that statement was more than appropriate) Once Dr. Thomas sprinted out of the room, the manager came in and was very kind and apologetic. She explained that among the myriad of reasons they run behind is an influx of referrals from the nearby hospitals and that it is common for “emergencies” to come up. Yes, I know all too well that the patient flow can be impacted by a myriad of factors which can result in “running behind” by 20-30 minutes or even 1 hour at most. Nevertheless, there are contingency plans that need to be implemented to mitigate the long wait times. The main reason for my review about what transpired during today’s visit is that at the end of the day, the practice should value the pa¬tient experience and patient feedback is a vital component of that experience. The physician should care—not just about providing quality medical care but also about the patient’s overall experience. From my personal experience today, it was more than clear that Dr. Thomas does not care – he did not even care enough to allow me 2 more minutes of his time to listen to my feedback. As I stated previously, none of the physicians I have worked with would ever behave in this manner because they understand that feedback, whether positive or negative, is valuable to a medical practice. Dr. Thomas, if you even read this, I had hoped not to post an online review about my experience, but you left me no alternative. Your dismissive behavior was unacceptable to say the least. After 31 years of dependence on glasses and contacts, I woke up this morning and can see clearly! Thank you… Dr Justus Thomas and Kim at Houston Eye Associates. ?????????? treatment from beginning to end. The procedure was pain free and quick! My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner.

I visited Dr. Thomas on Sept 27. I am still waiting for them to send the prescription to the pharmacy. I have called them twice, I left a voice messages.

Absolutely would recommend Dr. Thomas for LASIK. The pinnacle of professionalism and care from him and all of his staff. Kim is particularly excellent.

I love Dr. Thomas and his staff. I went from seeing 20/50 with contacts and glasses (at the same time) to seeing 20/30 without anything. I will always be thankful to him and Dr. Clint Gonzales for listening to me and understanding my situation. I recommend HEA to everyone I know.

Super nice and extremely helpful. He made sure I understood everything that was going on before I left his office. He even met with me the day after my surgery on his off day to make sure everything was okay!

The best care possible!

Dr. Thomas is so extremely caring - he truly cares about each of his individual patients and wants the best for each. I recently had the cataract removal in both eyes with Toric lens implants as well - it was everything he told me it would be and then some. I have been going to Dr. Thomas since he took over Dr. Clark's practice and I am extremely pleased, still, after all these years. His staff at both his office and the Surgery Center are first class.

Dr.Thomas is wonderful. Very nice and kind

The experience was outstanding and all my care was perfect. The staff at the office answered all my questions and were so professional, dr Thomas is the best doctor and I came from Fairview to have him do my surgeries, I would do it again and is my suggestion for anyone that needs eye care, I plan to continue to be his patient because I know he will be watching and protect my eyes if further problems arise,

It was the most professional experience from the office to the surgery center. I am absolutely impressed at how he and his staff work.

Right from the first day everyone were very professional and friendly. Everything was scheduled, and carried out without changes. Surgery was very easy on me, and after care went great. My eyes were checked the next morning, and again three days later. All instructions were through and easy to follow. It was all a very good experience. I will recommend Dr. Thomas to anyone.

Dr Thomas is awesome. I would recommend.

Dr. Thomas and his staff are phenomenal...caring, friendly, patient, knowledgeable, kind. Everyone is very professional but with a very personable caring commitment to you.

How wonderful everyone is alway smiling,cortical doctor and staff is great and super nice. Always listening and take great care.

Dr.Thomas is always great he always answer my questions very patiently. Staff is always nice especially Kim takes her time. I love coming here since Dr. Clark was my doctor.

When I first arrived I was seeing 20/400 vision due to an infection. After 12weeks of compassionate care from Dr. Thomas and his staff, my eye sight returned to 20/20 vision. I'm convinced that without his and his staff's complete professional care and kindness they showed me I would never see as well as I do today.

Dr. Thomas is a caring and dedicated eye doctor. He is always courteous and helpful. My health challenge required treatment over several months. "Dr. T" is an encourager who helped me to stay with the program and have a complete recovery!

Dr.Thomas is a wonderful doctor. His staff is extreamly kind and helpful from the time you walk in to the time you leave.

Great doctor and staff. You never have to wait to get in they are always courteous and gives you an appointment whenever I call.

Dr. Thomas is one brilliant physician with a great patient manner. His expertise and kind attitude makes him a physician that I trust and am grateful for. The exam was not rushed, he explained everything completely and was encouraging of my endless questions. I have seen many physicians in my time. Dr Thomas rates at the top of the top. Staff and making appointments, however, is a low point at both the central office call in and at the facility. Dr. Thomas' assistant is awesome!

Recently had eye surgery done by Dr. Justus Thomas. He is very professional, informative and kind. Had an excellent experience with office right thru surgery and post op. Could not be happier with results of surgery. I'm a happy patient!

He is always in a hurry to leave the room. He doesn't spend enough time with his patients. And they are only worry to sell cataract surgery......it is about money. Do not explain thoroughly the procedure. I have my surgery done but I am very . I am very unhappy with my surgery but he does not care.

I have always recommend Dr. Thomas. However, during my most recent visit Dr. Thomas seemed very rushed and I barely had time to ask a question. It seems to me both by the wait time and his hurry to get to the next patient he is overbooking. Wait time has always been a problem, but once you actually saw Dr. Thomas he gave you his full attention and didn't make you feel you were keeping him from other patients.
