I would give Dr. Kort 1 1/2 stars for bedside manner. I agree with the reviewers who call her arrogant, condescending and flippant. I even think she mocked me during my last visit. I have had an ongoing problem, but it has not required surgery, yet. She clearly has to see a lot of patients, so is always in a rush, and does not take the time to answer questions, or explain things. Being a good communicator is an important trait in an MD, that is not happening here. I gave her 3 stars because, from what I am told, she is an excellent surgeon. A friend of mine, who is a surgeon, said to me when I complained about another surgeon’s bedside manner, “do you want a good surgeon or a friendly doctor”. That is why I keep seeing Dr. Kort- her surgical ability. If she was treating anything else I would have left the practice after the 1st appointment. The office staff, and the nurse, are not friendly, and not efficient, at all, when you try to make appointments, or need test results.

the scar left from a fibroadenoma removal is twice the size of the fibroadenoma, very red and makes me insecure

She is a very compassionare doctor. She takes the time to explain everything well. She is very nice and down to earth. Best doctor Iv ever seen. Highly recommend her.

Dr Kort is very concerned about ones health. She is a great surgeon/Dr. Nice to have a woman surgeon here in Upstate NY.

She did my thyroidectomy. She was great from the beginning to end. Dr Kort took time to explain everything. She was the one to actually call me instead of having a nurse call me. She is very compassionate. I totally trust her.

Dr. Kara Kort is wonderful! The staff at her office is wonderful! If I call with an issue they get me in as soon as possible and take my concerns seriously. I would recommend Dr. Kara Kort and her practice to anyone faced with surgical needs. She is the best!!

I had Dr. Kort for Thyroid surgery. She does came across as arrogant and condescending. She sat on the counter, looked at my films and said I can do that surgery. She did not explain the process fully or what it involved.. After surgery, she gave me a cancer diagnosis over the phone. I was shocked and not prepared for her response. The threads from the stitches were sticking out weeks later and she needed to remove. She was recommended. If I had to do again, I would go with a different doctor, one I felt comfortable with. Dr Kort’s style of communication is not for everyone. Did she do a good job, I’ll never know for sure. I’ve had other surgeries with different doctors and would rate them a 5. This was a disappointing experience with her blaming me for not knowing all the information about my condition as she said it was on the internet. Another person had her for breast surgery and they liked her. If you’re not comfortable After initial consultation, use a different doctor.

Dr.Kort is awesome you can hardly see my scar from my thyroid surgery... if you didn’t know it was there you wouldn’t notice it. I highly recommend her!

The ONLY surgeon for breast cancer, in my opinion. Negative reviews should be ignored, as you will always find those, too. She did my bilateral mastectomies, and her compassion is astounding. Have referred several friends and now my own mother without hesitation. Competence and knowledge are outstanding. She was the first step in my cancer treatment and set me up for success for the remainder of cancer care. Eternally grateful to Dr. Kort, Jen, and staff.

She was rude, arrogant and dismissive. She only cared about what she thought. Had no care or compassion over your questions or concerns. She also dressed like a hooker with skin tight clothing and stripper shoes at work while seeing patients. I was worried about my symptoms and she snapped my head off after just one question from me because she did not have time for me. Feeling blessed today that Dr. Kort reviewed my breast mammogram last month and got me in for a biopsy the same day. She answered all of my questions and eased my nerves and i knew that I was in good hands. She even showed me my imaging in the office and showed me the area of concern. I am so happy that my results were good but i know if had not that i had the best care available. I saw Dr. Kort for my thyroid, she explained everything to me in words i could understand took her time and was so easy going. My scar after surgery was very small and as it has been healing it looks better and better every day. I highly recommend her to anyone that needs their thyroid out.

On May 5, 2017 Dr Kort performed a thyroidectomy on me due to Papillary Thyroid cancer. Everything went well considering that my thyroid was as large as a softball. Dr Kort not only has helped me but she also takes care of my youngest daughter and her thyroid. I like her positive no nonsense attitude. Dr Kort has confidence and is far above the expertise level for surgeries done. Dr Kort faces the issues, finds a solution, and gets the job done.

My mother came to Dr Kort in January of this year. My sister and I came with her and we were impressed with both Dr Kort and her staff. Not only were they professional, but they were very patient and compassionate in dealing with us. My mother was very nervous and wanted to leave for Florida as soon as she could. Dr Kort and her staff expedited all of the tests and treatment for my mother and were wonderful. Dr Kort and her staff are amazing, we highly recommend them!! ***** star rating!

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer just over a year ago. Dr. Richard Waldman her GYN recommended ONLY Dr. Kara Kort and said she is the best there is. Lynn and I met with Dr. Kort on Good Friday 2016 and we were both quite scared. Dr. Kort came into the room and reviewed the pathology report making sure we understood everything. The time she took to explain EVERYTHING was like we have never experienced from any doctor. Her skills as a surgeon are tops and as a person Great. Loved her.

I would highly recommend Dr. Kara Kort. After receiving my breast cancer diagnosis I was devastated. After meeting with Dr. Kort I was assured that I was going to be ok. She reviewed all of my treatment options with me, and she made herself readily available to my family for questions as well. I feel I had the best team of doctors available to me in the Northeast. I underwent a bilateral mastectomy, and in all honesty I look better today than I did pre-surgery! Her staff is great too!

I could say many things about Dr Kort and her staff-incompetent, arrogant, unsympathetic and also unkind. I feel as though she does not wish to be bothered with her patients. Staff does not return phone calls and was very flippant when asked about tests results. Did not fully explain procedures and does not seem to grasp that it is not a routine matter to the patient. Additionally, they did not send medical records and the doctor can not be bothered to answer questions. Do not use this practice

This woman is arrogant and full of herself. I would never recommend her to anyone. She had a nurse come in and tell me I had breast cancer. Kort spent less than five minutes with me during my 2 hour office visit. Rushed pathologist for the results of lymph nodes which resulted in not enough being removed. Never again!

Dr. Kort performed my total thyroidectomy in June 2016. She was kind, compassionate and patient with all of my questions. She checked in on me several times pre and post surgery. I am now 6 weeks post surgery and you can hardly see my incision because Dr. Kort did such a pristine job of putting me back together. I would enthusiastically recommend Dr. Kort to anyone in need of general surgery.

Not only does she explain everything so that it was easy to understand but she is just a wonderful person and always up beat
