Dr. Karen Lynn Hanten

Dr. Hanten is the absolute best Pediatrician! We have brought our son to her for 10 years now. She is thorough, attentive, and will always answer your questions. She always took my concerns seriously, even when I was in a new momma panic. I trust her completely and am thankful for her many years as our trusted doctor.

We love Dr Hanten. She is so good with my son, and always takes a much time as needed with you. We never feel rushed, she makes you feel like you are the only patient she has. She takes time to answer questions, provide helpful advise, was so reassuring when we were "new" parents. The office is always super accommodating, friendly and quick at turning request around. Dr Hanten and her staff are priceless! I highly recommend

My kids have been going to Dr. Hanten for 11 years. We interviewed her when my oldest (11) was not yet born! She is caring, extremely intelligent and always spot on. Her care is top notch and I have altered insurance plans before just to keep her, she is that good. The front staff are wonderful and Joanne has been there for the 11 years we’ve been patients. Wonderful practice and a doctor who gives each patient the time they need in every visit. She is worth the drive from Santee. My kids have been going to Dr. Hanten for 11 years. I will start by saying, in my opinion, this practice is truly one of a kind and amazing! My husband and I travel for work... we have been for many years. This being said we have had many doctors and even more professional interactions (many are sub-par). This will be my daughters 3rd pediatrician in her 7 month life and I can only hope we get to keep her for a long time! The office staff are friendly, curtious and easy to talk to. Dr. Hanten is a wealth of information and has facts and experience to back up her opinions and advice. I am a first time mom who needed the firm but gental hand of an elder to push me in a direction all while giving me the support to trust my gut and not overthink and micromanage our entire lives. I finally feel like I can breathe again and enjoy this precious time we have. The practice is not fancy but the care is exceptional and practical and I could not recommend her enough! Too bad I can't reply to the comment, but Jim you are ignorant: a cross bite is not life threatening. I feel bad for your 1-2 year old that you are going to painfully torture with braces. You going to bind the childs head as well. As for this pediatrician, Dr. Hanten, she is great! Perhaps a little old school with the rectal thermometer for infants, but at least you know she is using proven methods. We asked her about our one year old daughter sucking her thumb all the time because she appeared to be getting a bad over bite. This ignorant "doctor" said we didn't need to worry about it. We asked if we should see a dentist. She said not until our daughter is 3. After a year it was getting worse so I googled it. The ADA recommends going to the dentist by age 1!!! We saw a dentist and she said the thumb sucking is causing serious damage and we need to stop it immediately. We were referred to an orthodontist and may need braces or surgery. I know this is the onlyone pediatrician in town, but putting my child at risk with this moron is not worth saving a ten minute drive. We had a terrible experience at CPCMG before moving to Dr. Hanten; we move a lot and my son has seen several pediatricians in his short 2 years. She is the best there is! The office staff is great; the office is beyond clean and the kids get stickers and popsicles. Dr. Hanten is very knowledgeable and honestly interested in your child. Dr. Hanten and her team are amazing! They are caring and professional. We drive over the mountain from Imperial Valley and gladly do it for the service and care our two children receive.

Dr. Hanten has a wealth of knowledge and experience. My sister takes her kids and I have taken my three since the beginning and we have had nothing but positive experiences with her clinic. I highly recommend Dr Hanten for your pediatric needs.

My kids have been patients of Dr. Hanten since they were in the womb! I interviewed her 10 years ago while pregnant and knew from the get go she was our doctor! She is AMAZING and so is her staff! Her bedside manor is top notch, she cares, listens, follows up and will help you on weekends if contacted. I don't have enough space to praise this practice enough! They feel more like family than a practice. She even sends pics and emails to our daddy when deployed so he feels like he's in the loop.
