Too expensive, I'd shop for a better place

First time visit with Dr. Schaefer. I'm 78 yrs old and have congenital jaw problems, so I'm no stranger to a dentist chair. Dr. Schaefer and staff are so professional and personable ,it is the first time I left a dental office with a true smile on my face! Dr. Kendra and her staff are amazing. It took close to 3 months of visits to get my front tooth bridge just right. It looks so natural! They listened to my concerns and adjusted the bridge to my liking. They are warm, professional, and thoughtful. Marco is very talented and skilled in making the color match to other teeth. Have spent my life in dental chairs and nothing compares. Their dental team feels like family... and yet the quality and precision of their work is exceptional. And, their lab is on site! I wouldn’t go anywhere else..ever!

As the years slipped by, I found it too embarrassing to go in for a dental checkup. But after 25 years of avoiding the dentist, my front tooth broke. Swallowed my foolish pride and went to see Dr. Schaefer. I could have taken the easy route and been satisfied with the flipper tooth(partial denture) but I was given the opportunity to see the possibility of having a wonderful smile. The process(4 implants and 6 crowns) took many months but Dr. Schaefer and the entire staff's genuine kindness and concern guided me down the road on this journey. Special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kramer at COMS for his amazing skill and professionalism in doing the implants. I will never forget when I looked in the mirror for the first time after Dr. Schaefer completed the crowns. What a feeling of joy to see myself smiling back at me. I am forever grateful to Dr. Schaefer and everyone at Prosthodontics of Madison. And since I am 63 years old, I hope forever is at least another 20 to 30 years! My story ends and we are now expecting our first grandchild in a few months. I want my grandchild to know(and remember) me as the Grandpa that laughs and smiles all the time and is always ready for the next, silly, adventure. I have serious dental needs due to radiotherapy that were not being addressed by my "in network" dentist and his associates. My ENT doc recommended Dr. Schaefer's team. The resolution involved a very complex sequence of work, a number of crowns, and a new partial. Her team setup a well-organized work sequence, each step building on the previous steps and employing some pretty state-of-the-art technical skills. There also seems to be a bit of artistry involved to make it all work and make it look good. These folks have those skills. She has a poor bedside manner. Very disappointed. We spent thousands of dollars on teeth for my mother and after two years of working with her she still doesn’t have a pair of teeth that fit without giving her sores in her mouth.

My 98 (and a half) year old mother lost three teeth that were supporting her lower dentures. This puzzled and frustrated our long-term Madison area prosthodontist who became rude to us and whose office became almost impossible for us to reach by phone. Thankfully, we were eventually referred to Dr. Schaeffer! From the beginning, she and her kind and gentle staff treated my Mom like she could have and should have dentures that fit her -- and did not look like they were held together by Silly Putty. Dr. Schaefer took the time to mold and adapt a new appliance, and she was generous in terms of patience and flexibility -- allowing my Mom to stay in her wheelchair for all the fittings! Her office staff remains accessible for our after-visit questions. Dr. Schaeffer became our dental angel! We recommend her without hesitation. Dr Schaefer has excellent skill and does beautiful work. She recommends the treatment which is best and explains why. She made my son's smile gorgeous. He was happy that he was treated so well throughout his appointment.

Dr. Schaefer sat back and listened to my 98 year old Mother. She came up with a solution for her bottom plate that no other prosthodontist had suggested. She spent extra time and didn't discount anything my Mother had to say. My Mother knew she was in good hands. I trust her decision and her guidance.

Very poor "bedside manner". She was condescending and not open to listening to what I wanted for my treatment. I felt very rushed like she just wanted to move on to the next patient. A "know it all" attitude. Needless to say I went elsewhere for my treatment.

I cannot believe how talented Dr. Scheafer is! Her abilities with hybrid dentures are truly amazing and life changing! I'm so glad I came to her office!

I was diagnosed with Sj?gren's syndrome, which causes severe dry mouth, among many other symptoms. With Sj?gren's comes many dental health issues including tooth decay & gum disease. I spent a fortune on veneers years ago & always got compliments on my smile. I was devastated when it was told I needed a full upper denture & lower partial. Dr. Schaefer & team exceeded my expectations! She went above & beyond to recreate my beautiful smile, was so friendly, professional,& thoughtful. She's.BEST!

I came with a lot of questions. Dr. Schaefer took the time to answer them all. I'm glad I took my dentist's recommendation to see the specialist!

She made negative remarks about the oral surgeon I have been seeing, even though she had never worked with him. After she spoke to him she told me I needed to find a different oral surgeon for my extractions. Instead I found a different prosthodontist. Would not recommend under any circumstances.

I had to get a tooth implant on my front tooth, so I was really nervous about it. I went to a different surgeon for the implant and to Dr. Schaefer for the crown (fake tooth). Before the procedure, she answered my questions thoroughly and even gave me extra information. During the procedure, she was very patient and spent the time to do the process right. Honestly, I didn't expect my "tooth" to come out looking so good, but it really looks like a real tooth! I'm very happy with the results, and highly impressed by Dr. Schaefer's skill.
