Keyna Ann Martinez

She isn’t very caring and doesn’t take time for you. She sits across the room and talks to you and ask you questions but she doesn’t examine you at all. I am 71 years old and should have my heart listen to when I go for visits. I finally switched to a better doctor Who checks me out every single time I go. I know four people now who have switched from seeing her to a different doctor. They have the same experience with her that I had. I am hoping this review will cause her to be a better doctor and examine her patients.

In the past year, Dr. Martinez has had no compassion when it comes to how I’ve felt on a physical/mental level. She’s very dismissive and doesn’t use eye contact making my visits uncomfortable and feeling rushed. I was given an antibiotic to help treat what I thought was an abscess from my tooth. By the third day, my pain was unbearable and there was no relief from the antibiotic. My face was so swollen it hurt to even talk. I went into the office, and was told by a nurse practitioner it was caused from a canker sore. After I expressed dissatisfaction with her diagnosis she brought Dr. Martinez in the room. Dr. Martinez then said I had shingles. I was given a prescription to treat shingles and was told to stop taking my original antibiotic. I was so upset after I left because I knew I didn’t have shingles. I went to the emergency room, and turns out, I had a really bad sinus infection. They told me I don’t have shingles. I was given proper medication by the Doctor from the ER to treat the infection and told to continue taking my original antibiotic. After reading other reviews, I realize I’m not the only one. Being told I had shingles and treat me for shingles was a very uneducated and “push me out the door” decision. She doesn't know the difference between bronchitis and pneumonia in the elderly...hey doc when their coughing .... they're trying to get enough oxygen! My mother died because she was diagnosed WRONG!! Do not take your elderly to this doctor!!

Dr. Martinez was my mothers doctor, as well as a couple of other family members who I hope will find someone else. If I could assign 0 stars I would. Keyna is dismissive, and careless. My mother had been having sinus headaches for months, Keyna said it was "the flu", she had bloodwork done, her office said everything was fine, then called to schedule an appointment for discussing her diabetes. Imagine finding out that way, right after you were told everything was fine? A few days after her blood work, my mother passed away completely unexpectedly. I cannot blame Dr. Martinez for this, but after all the stories I've heard about Keyna not taking patients concerns seriously, I can't help but think a better doctor who really cared for their patients might have caught something. They even sent a bill after she died! Moral of the story is, we have to be our own advocates when it comes to our health, if you don't think your doctor takes you seriously, find a new one. Worse doctor I've ever seen. She lies and over prescribes the ones that don't need it and screws the rest

She is the best Dr. I have been to. Very caring and doesn't rush you through and she sits and listens. I highly recommend anyone to see her.

Dr. Martinez is a wonderful Dr. she listens and does not hurry you out. The wait time is minimal because this office schedules the appointments right. She wants to solve the issue not keep covering it up!

Dr Martinez is the best doctor I have had in all my years on Earth. She is kind and very caring and easy to talk to. She is genuinely concerned about he patients and takes time to listen to them and answer their question. I highly advise anyone to seek her services .

She is very knowledgeable and takes numerous notes so that she always knows what conditions I have had in the past. She has treated me better than most specialists she has had to refer me to due insurance. I highly recommend her.

I have experienced the problems with medicine refills but that is not because of her office. The phone requests go into the central calling center at Memorial Hospital and there is often communication breakdown at that level. They answer the phone as if there are at Lakeville. I just demand to get straight through and then have no problems. Dr. Martinez is thorough, caring, and prompt. I am an elder patient and find her very attentive to my needs. She spends as much time as you need with her.

She is one of the best

She has been extremely responsive to any issues I've had, always takes time to talk about what my concerns are without rushing me through. I came to her from a personal referral and have now referred my husband to her.

At first I was very impressed with Dr. Martinez, I'd tell her the symptoms I was having and without any questions or discussion from her she'd come up with a diagnosis. However, using her solutions I continue to have problems until I went to someone else and got the correct diagnosis. These weren't complex problems, Dr. Martinez didn't spend the time to help figure it out, she just pulls something out of her hat and because of that I dealt with pain or problems longer than I should have

I'm very comfortable seeing Dr Martinez she is always professional and answers all of my questions as well as keep me on track with exams and other tests. I'm epileptic and because of this I have had countless blood draws in my lifetime. So I know when a nurse knows what she is doing and when they don't. Luckily at Dr.Martinez's office her nurse knew what she was doing and it barely phased me.And getting medicine is no issue. Not quite sure what the situation with the previous reviewer was.

Getting medicine from Dr. Martinez is like pulling teeth. She mainly does general check-ups and will refer you to emergency for all else. She is very busy raising 4 boys. She is likely to tell you to chew your food when your real problem is your liver. You will get in quickly and probably won't wait over 5 minutes for an appointment. She is strictly available 8-5 on weekdays----SO GO TO QUICK CARE for better service. She does blood work and urine testing about every five or six yrs
