Dr. Lauren S Smith

I am originally from Ionia and now live in Grand Rapids. I had plans to find a new family doctor here but have not yet taken the time to do so. I hurt myself badly enough that i really needed to be seen soon but did not need to clutter up an emergency room. Not wanting to go thru the process of finding a physician who was taking new patients, or the risk of just not clicking; I called Family Health Center of Ionia. Marcia was very understanding of my situation and she got me scheduled. I am so thankful for the great personal service and caring nature of the staff, nurse Jasmine and Dr. Smith. I received a follow up phone call asking how my situation was doing. I am so glad that when i was in need i thought to call the same office that had given me such wonderful care for so many years before. The kindness and personalized treatment i was given was just as great as it always was years before. Dr no quack smith shouldn't be able to practice medicine...he doesn't give you respect, his back is to you when he sees you and talks very low where you cant hear him...he has canceled 2 of my visits and never informed me he was going to be gone, him or his staff should of had the decency to do that...he doesn't care about anyone but himself..I've had trouble with him since I've been seeing him. Well no more i have another dr. See him at your own risk, he's not a dr, he just carries the title of dr...i feel sorry for anyone who goes to him....i have another dr , thank goodness...be ware people... Worst ever Condescending doesn’t answer questions not friendly disrespectful

I have been having trouble getting time off work. I cancelled my 1 appt for that reason. 2nd appt I had to cancel and Marcia said it would be ok to call to reschedule when I could make an appt. I called to do this and Kayla is what I spoke to very rudely said they will not accept me and further will not help me with a name and number to a doctor who possibly could help me in the area. Being new to the area this is not only frustrating but not in any way a good set of help who need it in caring for people. In which they took oath to do. Very frustrating and very glad I will not be deciding to be involved with a place who offers help but refuses to help when they can because they are to busy, or in my case I valued hear Kayla talking about her weekend fun that day. I would not suggest anyone to visit this establishment for help or to be seen. If the nurses behave in this manner. I wouldn’t want to see a doctor who allows such behavior. The worst doctor there could ever be, he's actually VERY detrimental to everything a doctor is supposed to stand for and live by! Absolutely DOES NOT care at all about patients or even sees them as human beings! He puts EVERYONE IN A BOX AND LOOKS DOWN ON THEM, as if everyone aren’t individuals, like trash that are so far below him that he LITERALLY doesn't even give them the time of day! He speaks DOWN on them! He cuts them short: Cont review on Yelp, it’s much more in-depth! He LACKS RESPECT..

Dr. Smith don’t talk about what he’s going to prescribe or give appropriate medication to help the patient! He’ll tell you things that have nothing to do with what you’re talking about & crack inappropriate jokes. Don’t bother telling him what works for you. Be ready to be in & out in a hurry!
