Dr. Louis Rizio III

My husband tore his acl and a partial meniscus tear while playing soccer. We went to another doctor who looked at his mri and told him he didn't even have an injury (we knew by the pain, swelling and instability that he definitely did.) We booked an appointment with Dr Rizio who identified the acl tear (70%!) and discovered the other partial tear. He fully explained the injury and the options available. He was very thorough and kind. We chose surgery and my husband was back on his feet in less than 24 hours post-op. The operation went exactly as explained and the process was smooth. We're so thankful for Dr Rizio! Highly recommend.

I tore both of my shoulders and Dr. Rizio performed each surgery. I personally appreciate Dr. Rizio's "bedside manner" as I found him genuinely caring, but also direct and to the point. I don't need someone to caress me until I feel better - I needed a skilled surgeon who could get me back on the mats and Dr. Rizio did exactly that. I remember the office staff left much to be desired in terms of competence and general helpfulness, but I don't think that should detract from a skilled surgeon. If I had a choice between friendly staff and an "Ok" surgery, or waiting in an office for an hour for a doctor who could get me back to full (pre-injury) athletic performance, I'll take the latter any day. Two surgeries, on two separate shoulders, and I'm competing better than ever. Thanks, Dr. Rizio!

My visit with Dr. Rizio went well. But I want to say that his staff is excellent! They went out of their way to make certain that I was able to see him on short notice. Then Danielle made certain that I was able to get my MRI scheduled. She went above and beyond to make certain not only that I understood what I needed to get the appointment, but reached out to the MRI facility to confirm that they had all the information that they needed. Danielle is simply wonderful! Dr. Rizio is an excellent judge of character!

dr rizio replaced my knee i went home the next day & walked two weeks later no pain. a great dr . i would highly recommend him.

My son sustained a labrum tear while away at University out of state and waited 1.5 years before he could fit surgery into his schedule. Dr Rizio was our surgeon of choice as he came highly recommended. From the very first visit, I knew we had made the right choice. He is very professional and courteous besides having excellent surgical skills. He repaired the labral tear and upon further inspection, found another tear in the posterior labrum, which he then repaired, that wasn't picked up on the MRI. I'm so happy we chose Dr Rizio for multiple reasons. He was able to accommodate the surgery date and location due to our insurance plan and my son's hectic schedule. Dr Rizio followed my son through the course of post op physical therapy. I highly recommend Dr Rizio!

I have gone to Dr. Rizio over 4 times in the past 2 years and he is always on or close to schedule. More importantly, he is very knowledgeable and patient and spends a lot of time to understand the problem. I highly recommend him.

can't get through to make an appointment..

I went to Dr. Rizio for an Achilles issue. I was fitted incorrectly for a boot that covered my knee. I had to call everyday and ask for a new one. The office staff would brush me off an not let me speak to him. Once I finally got one I had to beg for an MRI and was told I had a tear, and I should just stop doing actions that hurt it. Maybe you should stop seeing patients. That's not an answer

Was recommended to Dr. Rizio by two friends. At first I found him to be a bit aloof but I thought he was very thorough. I wasn't concerned about his lack of "hand holding" since I wanted a good surgeon, not a new best friend. He explained the surgical procedure for my knee, the healing process and the pros and cons of the surgery. Surgery went well and I did feel the need to contact the office with some questions, post surgery. Dr. Rizio could not have been more understanding or sympathetic

Worst doctor ever!!!! Period!!! No bed side manners. No care for patient concerns. It appears he hadno empathy at all to address my wife's concerns with her ailment. If you see you once you will recognize that you will be wasting your time. Go elsewhere. He's terrible as a doctor and as a human being. Can't even check off one star. Sad.

Dr. Rizio is on time and on point with diagnosis, surgical skills and rehab. Reconstructed my ACL and everything is great. Back to everything I like to do and I'm active.
