Dr. Luko Michael Laptalo

Dr. Laptalo has been my doctor for over a decade now. He has treated me for breast cancer, auto-immune hemolytic anemia, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. I’m still alive and kicking because of his care!

First, it took a month from the time of my PC referral for me to hear back from the office to schedule an appt. . Then, he was condescending and chauvanistic the entire appointment, brushing off the thing my PC had told me telling me he didn't think I was anemic, just overweight and "all women lose blood over their lifetime because of menstruation". Then he got my bloodwork back and lo and behold! Evidence of chronic, long-term anemia. Now I continue to wait- 3 weeks since they said they referred me for infusion therapy and are "waiting for insurance approval". I just spent 2 hours on the phone with insurance finding no open approvals or pending approvals. The office hasn't even submitted for authorization!!! My PC has offered to get me a different hematologist but I don't want to have to start all over again. #waiting3monthsforthisofficeotdotheirdamnjob

I highly recommend Dr. Laptalo too!!! He is very caring and does not leave any stone unturned when it comes to getting to the bottom of your health to get to the source of any problem and ultimately help you make the best informed decision with a favorable outcome you can live with. My first visit with Dr Laptalo and I feel confident that I have put myself in his care. He has a gentle, relaxed manner and kindly answered my question as well as making sure he had met my expectations. I had an unsatified experience with previous oncologist.

Dr. Laptalo was my husbands physician during his battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. Bruce thought the world of him because he was so intelligent, compassionate and went out of his way to make sure he was comfortable until the end. We lost him but I would like to thank him for my late husband.

I've been a patient of Dr. Laptalo's for almost nine years. He is a very caring physician and always takes the time to answer my questions and share his knowledge of my blood disease with me. I never feel rushed during my appointments and always leave the office trusting that I am in good hands with Doctor Laptalo.

I highly recommend Dr. Laptalo! He is sensitive and caring yet he is that true scientist following all the latest news in oncology. He listens and cares. Even having survived my cancer so far for many years, he understands my fears and understands my questions. He is a gem! You are getting the best care in oncology with Dr. Laptalo.

Since Dr. Luptalo is an oncologist going to see him is not a happy occasion. He is a very nice man who certainly knows what he is doing. I almost died from chemo side effects but Dr. Laptalo was there every morning in the hospital, offering encourement and support. I do not like Mercy's cancer center because they do not have a lab. In spite of that Dr. Laptalo is a great doctor, and I am five years cancer free. What more can anyone ask?
