This office is a sad excuse for health care. We have called this office our PCP for two years and have had nothing but issues with scheduling over 3 occasions of canceling our appointments last minute. This was the last straw. My daughter was scheduled for a follow up appointment from another provider. The appointment was scheduled for at least two weeks and the doctor left a voice message that we should just go back to the doctor that referred us to our PCP. Not willing to collaborate with the other doctor not even willing to see us to find out what was going. She just viewed the notes from the appointment scheduler to make a medical decision. I see some negative reviews here about how scheduling works and about the office staff. I’ve been seeing Dr. Bauer for 5 years & I’ve never had a single problem with scheduling. Even when I have needed to see him quickly, I have gotten a workable appointment. What I have experienced has been a professional and friendly staff, and an easy scheduling system. I usually just go online to book something. Furthermore, the Baylor Scott & White system includes an online portal which is very useful for routine questions and prescription requests/refills. I use it often and every time I do, I get a very quick response. I messaged just this week for a prescription and within 15 minutes, the nurse messaged back that it had been approved and sent to my pharmacy. You can’t get better service than that. There was a comment about frustration at not being able to talk about more than 2 issues at an office visit. This is not the Drs choice, this is dictated by insurance companies. This was starting to be the case several years ago, when I was with another Dr., under a different system. Thanks to insurance control of the health industry, rigid rules & policies force our doctors to adhere to how much time they can spend and how many issues can be addressed, or it won’t be covered. It’s a tall orders for doctors and they spend as much time doing paperwork for insurance as they do seeing patients. Lastly, a few patients commented that Dr. Bauer is not compassionate. I have never seen him be anything but caring and very ethical. He has helped me with several ongoing health issues and I have complete trust in his expertise. This is the worst doctor I have ever seen. If you value your health, I would not recommend seeing this man. The only thing he is qualified to diagnose is a cold and I still doubt he could do that accurately. My step father had a stroke. This man thought he knew more than a NEUROSURGEON and said he didn’t actually have a stroke and was fine. He diagnosed him with an ear infection. He is now having an operation to remove blockages in his neck. Take your health and life seriously. Having a degree does not mean you are qualified, it means you have a good memory. This man’s overall apathy toward figuring out what is wrong with his patients is disgusting. He doesn’t deserve to practice. Trust a bad review like this. Trust your instincts. Find someone better because you deserve it.

Been going to Dr Bauer for years and really like him. Unfortunately his office help do a terrible job. I’m tired of their lies and Have had enough. I really hope Dr Bauer reads these reviews. Am I the only one that hates the whole Baylor network and how it works? Very frustrated

I rarely write reviews (and aim to give the benefit of the doubt). That said, my experience at this office was really frustrating. I needed a new PCP and my cardiologist recommended Dr. Marc G. Bauer. I scheduled an appointment for an annual physical. I arrived early and with all paperwork filled out. I also had a list of additional items, questions and medical issues to discuss. When doing intake with the nurse, I brought some of this up. She informed me that "this is just a wellness check, we will NOT be addressing any medical issues at this appointment." What is the point of an annual physical if not to discuss potential medical problems with your GP (and work on a plan for them)??? The nurse then assembled my paperwork and said the doctor would be in shortly. About 15-20 minutes later, the receptionist comes in the exam room and tells me "Dr. Bauer says you have a complicated case. You need an internal medicine doctor and not him." A bit frustrated now, I asked for a referral. No problem, if that's not him, who is it?!? She said they couldn't provide ANY referrals. Instead, I'd have to call a generic Baylor 1800 number. WTH? For a supposedly "hometown" doctor, this was really impersonal and frustrating. I want to forge a working relationship with my doctors, not be a cog in the system. We wanted to take our WHOLE family to this practice. Icing on the cake - the appointment started late despite my arriving early. I wasn't frustrated by this until the end result. Overall, the doctor NEVER came in and explained anything. No apology, no personal explanation, no help whatsoever. I understand covid changes procedures but he could have at least helped guide me with more than an 800 number. Moreover, they had my medical history in the Baylor system so they could have told me their conclusion LONG before my appointment. This causes me to question the Baylor system overall. Very unprofessional physician and office staff. They care more about making money than treating patients.

I like Dr.Bauer and his staff because scheduling is easy, there is very little waiting time, and he treats me very kindly and professionally. He explains things well and got my BP under control. He diagnosed other issues & sent me to very good specialists. He is friendly and caring, and his skilled nurse Jacki is also very compassionate. I feel complete trust with him and this practice.

I was looking for a new PCP and needed a pre-op completed. I scheduled the appt more than a month out but the office said he would not do the pre-op more than 1 week before surgery. So the appt was scheduled for more than a month out and they called the Friday before saying the dr. would not perform pre-op on new patient. Now my surgery has to be rescheduled do to the inept office team. They actually blamed it on someone else when they called me, saying they had a temp person doing the scheduling. Being in healthcare for more than 18 years, and having the pleasure of working with hundreds of docs across the US, we found Dr Mark Bauer almost 6 years ago. He is the most knowledgeable and most compassionate Doctor I have ever had. He and his staff 150% of the time work to go up and beyond the call of duty to provide the absolute best care possible. I would and do recommend him to all that are looking and not one of my recommendations have come back to me with out feeling the same way that we feel. If this world had more physicians like Dr Marc Bauer and the staff he has this world would be a much better place. We are blessed to have him in our lives. Terrible office policies concerning scheduling and billing. You need multiple visit and copays for what is done at other doctor offices under one visit.

As said in another review. Quick to send you to an ER. I mentioned....over the phone...a friend and guitarist of mine had heart attacks. If you are looking for thr worst and most UNCOMPASSIONATE doctor ever, then Dr. Bauer is your man. HE left my 82 year old dad in dire straits at an ER he referred my dad to. Bauer sent him there urgently and when meeting with ER doc he asked why the heck we were sent there and they couldn't help my dad he needed Baylor hospital. DR. Bauer sent him to the wrong place. We tried calling Bauer office to find out where to go to no avail. I even texted Dr. Bauer as i had been friends with him for 10 years and we texted every so often. He completely ignored my texts and blew off my dad completely. He does not pay for an answering service either. My dad ended up on the hospital for 4 days and til this day a week later we NEVER HEARD back from Dr. Bauer. Worst doctor EVER! I find it frustrating that a physician can’t see you for more than 1 concern at a time! Probably because they want the money from the insurance and can’t bill for 2 concerns in one visit! They don’t take into consideration that I have to schedule my visits around work and children. Not to mention I have to pay a copayment every visit!! I needed a wellness exam for work (literally vitals and a mood exam) and had an abnormal lab recently that I wanted to discuss. I highly doubt either of those things would take more than 20 minutes. I will be finding a different PCP. This is the 2nd time I have requested a visit with a Baylor physician and been told “we can only schedule for one thing per visit, you will need to schedule another appointment for an additional concern” downfall is that I work for a Baylor hospital so I have to stay in network unless I want to pay a higher rate!!! Excellent doctor, excellent care. I have been going to see Dr Bauer for over a year and have also moved my family members over to his practice. Very professional, attentive, and knowledgable.

I found Dr. Bauer to be caring and a skilled doctor. Nurses are friendly and helpful and I've never had a billing issue. Highly recommend.

We have been going to Dr Bauer for a while now. I started taking the kids and then I moved to their office too. He is truly concerned about everyone’s well being and truly cares to find the best solution for any health issues that arise. His staff is friendly and responsive. Highly recommend him!!!!!

Dr. Marc Bauer is an excellent doctor. My entire family sees him, including my 9 and 11 year old boys. He is an excellent listener and I always know Dr. Bauer is concerned and providing the best care for me and my family.

I've been seeing Dr. Bauer for 2 years , & I'm very pleased with his attention and care. He listens well & has a great demeanor, very kind,personable, easy to talk with. His staff is great, & I never wait more than 10 minutes. He aggressively treated my high BP & it's now lower & stable. He suspected chronic kidney disease due to #s & sent me to a good kidney Dr, he was right. Now managed well. With every issue, he has had a good solution or specialist to refer me to. Super Dr w/ a great staff.

Dr Bauer and staff are excellent. I feel they really take time with you. They don’t rush you in and out like most doctors do. I recommend them highly.

Most uncompassionate and unprofessional doctor ever. He left my 82 year old father and Dire Straits at the incorrect ER and never returned his calls or text messages to his private phone. Never ever followed up and it's been over a week. I treat my dog better than he treated my father. DR Bauer should NOT be able to practice medicine. Front desk girl is horrible and rude doesn't return calls. I would give him a zero if that was a choice. Can't believe he could treat a human being

Tried to make an appointment for my 72 year old mother, and was denied office visit. Reason that I was given is that my mother, who is NOT on Medicare and will be paying CASH $$$$ is of Medicare age, and he is not accepting new patients like that. Talk about AGE DISCRIMINATION!

I recently moved to the area and today was looking for a new PCP, and since I am a nurse working at Baylor Scott and White and Dr Bauer is in network, I called to make an appt. and establish new services with him, particularly because I am running low on a couple of scripts. The front desk lady asked me what Rx I was on and I stated Trazodone for sleep, and she stated Dr Bauer doesn't prescribe that! I found that hard to believe, so am not going with this practice! Went in for my first physical in years. Dr Bauer was very friendly and upfront with me. He explains things and isn’t anxious to just put you on meds. I would highly recommend.

What jerks the nurse is. I called for a wellness exam through Humana. Dr. Thomas had recently suddenly left Scott and White leaving all his patients stranded. I called and some snippy little nurse proceded to tell me they didn't do "meet and greet" apointments. Dang I am 72 and get my vital signs checked evert six months because of the medications I am on, she was so busy running her head about not having meet and greet appointments, I couldn't get a word in. WHAT A PIECE OF WORK!!!!!

My husband and I both love Dr. Bauer and his staff! He and his nurse, Carla, are both very personable and spend time getting to know us both personally and medically. I feel Dr. Bauer takes everything into account and isn't just prescribing to treat the symptom; he really wants to find the root cause and treat the whole body. We like him so much that we are moving our boys from their pediatrician to his practice. I highly recommend Dr. Bauer!

My adult sister who is intellectually disabled and who I care for is a patient of Dr. Bauer. We are new to this area and it's always stressful finding a new PCP who is compassionate and understanding. Dr. Bauer treats my sister with such kindness. He speaks to her and ask her questions. He makes sure she is happy and will go even further and ask about her Special Olympic events and social life. He's is outstanding, and we are so blessed to have find him. Office staff is also great!
